Faith & Flower
What Insiders Are Saying
Faith & Flower is a Financial District restaurant where everything is over the top, but done right. Use it for pretty much anything, from date night to dinner with your boss. And whatever you do, get a cocktail or two.
Love Faith & Flower! Never disappointing. Definitely order the Crab Toast and the Milk Punch!
From the first gesture of my waitress, I could tell this was not going to be a great dining experience. The young woman wearing glasses acknowledged my request for ice water, then immediately proceeded to pour lukewarm water to the top of my water glass. I respectfully reiterated that I wanted ice water, so she brought me a cup of ice. She seemed to not understand that it probably wasn't my job to pour my own water (although i would have gladly done that had she provided me with a pitcher or a carafe - but no). Luckily, the hostess passed by my table shortly thereafter, and I figured to save both me and the waitress an hour of awkwardness, I requested a different waiter. The hostess (pleasant and professional) willingly obliged. A few minutes later, a lanky male approached my table with a "Was there something I can help you with?" I asked for an iced tea with sugar on the side. Simple, right? A long while later, an iced tea arrived - no sugar - delivered by a bus person. Fifteen minutes went by before I saw my waiter again. When he finally came back to take my order, I requested sugar. He said, "I didn't send out sugar because you said you didn't want any!" Now, I could understand if the waiter misheard me - that can happen. But when I clearly indicated for the second time that I wanted sugar, I would think that would trigger some recognition on the part of the waiter that he had screwed up...Nope. Not this waiter. Onto the next waiter. A very professional young woman (Natalie) approached my table, appropriately apologetic, and took matters into her own, very able hands. If it weren't for her, the meal would have been a total loss. She sent a complimentary hamachi crudo course and 20% was taken off the bill without my asking. The food overall was underwhelming. Not the caliber I was expecting. Everything (hamachi, squash/artichoke salad, hanger steak) was drenched in mediocre sauces and presented as though it were very precious. I wouldn't go back.
We went on LA restaurant week and it was a great value. We loved this restaurant, food was wonderful and the cocktails were strong and flavorful. Service is implacable and the overhaul experience was great.
Impression: Watering hole for LA hipsters (they don’t eat much)... Very slow service. But the food was good!
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Service was great and our server Zach explained the menu as it was our firsts visit. Vibe was very relaxed and food was amazing!
Every item we ordered was delicious.
Our server, Angela (I think?) was fantastic!
Very nice ambiance, great food and service and open late so great place for after theater dinner and drinks.
Food was well prepared/seasoned. We ordered the set menu for Dine LA. Was too noisy inside so sat outside instead. Much better but had to ask server twice to lower music volume. Overall, loved our time at the restaurant!
As a bibliophile, I love the menus inside the books. I was unsure whether I'd like some of the items we ordered, and was pleasantly surprised to enjoy every course.
Too close. Should have been booth.
Nice vibes with live band :)
I had a bottle of champagne delivered to our table before we arrive for my parents’ wedding anniversary, and they were so accommodating and happy to help us celebrate. Food was amazing, wait staff was amazing, and the entire experience was amazing. Would come back here in an instant.
the food was super flavorful and gorgeous to look at and the space was so nice I never wanted to leave!
Love! My new fave. Best Chicken, pizza and wine ever!
AMAZinG! Everything was excellent ! Great service and fantastic food!
It was a fun and very enjoyable experience. Loved our meal. Exquisite selection and service.
Nice hip spot. Great decor inside - though it's best in the very back room (tables for larger groups I think) or near the bar. Service is as it should be. The menu is solid for this kind of resteraunt - modern without being actually innovative. The food is really quite good...but shy of being fantastic. Of course the pricing is bold . You can definitely get better absolute value in DTLA, but considering the location, the decor and the service, it's within the ballpark.
$50 including tip for two drinks during happy hour.
Always a great experience. Food portions small and prices a bit inflated but I haven’t had anything I did not enjoy.
I loved the vibe and the food, but the best part was dessert.
So fun we loved it it was too loud though
This place is horrendously noisy...so much so, that our server couldn't even hear our order correctly. She insisted that I ordered fried green beans as a starter when I absolutely did not. No one at the table heard me order damn green beans either, but this woman stood her ground and irritably retorted, "No. You ordered them, remember?" Like, no B---- I don't remember because I didn't. YOU ordered them for me! As the cherry on top, I told her I had a seafood allergy and she legit recommended steak tartare that had fin fish in it... she then proceeded to tell me that fin fish was not seafood. It was just called "fin fish" AKA bonito flakes AKA smoked fish. Can someone please educate their staff?
The food here is great. Unfortunately for them, this is in downtown LA and there's pleeennnty of great restaurants so I don't actually have a desire to revisit. Maybe I'll sit at the bar?
I had the Duck Breast and it was delightful and cooked perfect! My husband had Oysters and the bacon wrapped pork tenderloin and enjoyed it as well as my duck lol! Our server Pete, was awesome and very attentive! It is a very happening place!
Only one thing and one drink surprise us
New York tart and one drink
Other things is just soso
Prime beef too hard medium can not eat
You can eat medium rare
Great food and ambiance. They also have a good happy hour selection.
Angela was a wonderful server and food was amazing
Great experience and amazing food.
Portions are slightly small for the price. You'll need three courses per person.
Hostess was very welcoming and kind. The server on the other hand was not very helpful. After taking our order she only came to the table when the food was dropped off, then to drop the bill at the end of our meal. Despite the mediocre service the paella that we ordered was as bland and dull as I've ever had. It tasted more like paella ragu - just plain tomato sauce. Definitely don't order the paella, very underwhelming.
Always a fantastic spot for dinner with perfectly prepared food and an excellent wine list.
Best cocktail of all time...English Milk Punch! AMAZING!
Terrific drink menu and flavorful foods for every course. Anil, our server, was extremely knowledgeable plus conscientious about one of our guests who has celiac disease. He was expert at guiding her through the menu and in following up with the kitchen on maximizing her food choices.
Overall we thought we had a nice dinner although were a little disappointed with the food. Not great but not bad... just ehh. Considering the price and the meals we’ve experienced around the country, the quality of food was only fair. Take this review with a grain of salt as personal preference is entirely subjective.
Service was good atmosphere was great.
We sat at the bar first and made the tail end of happy hour - we got the deviled eggs after seeing a bunch of reviews about how good they were. They did not disappoint!! For dinner we had the steak tartare which was the best steak tartare we’ve ever had. The seafood paella was phenomenal and we also split the duck breast. Everything was exceptional. Will definitely be back when we’re back in town!
Portions are way too small but still tasty ... highballs are tight
Dishes order were hit or miss. Good atmosphere, good drinks, good service.
