Fahrenheit - Charlotte
Book your next event with us
We as a company have had our “Holiday Party” at Fahrenheit for the past two years and have spent literally thousands of dollars at this restaurant. The food, service and atmosphere at the events has been second to none so it is regrettable that this review is so negative.
We recently had friends from out of state visit and we selected Fahrenheit for dinner as a way to show off our amazing home city of Charlotte!
The only open reservations on Open Table were for 4 pm and 10 pm. We grudgingly chose 4 pm without calling the restaurant to check availability. We arrived on time and were seated promptly. As 5 pm rolled around and 6 pm (we stayed after dinner for drinks on the patio) it became very apparent that the restaurant was almost empty and that there is obviously a flaw in the reservation process/system.
A member of our party found a blonde hair in her salad and brought it the attention of our waitress who coincidentally had blonde hair. The pizza was soggy! The salmon was amazing, well prepared and side dishes were tasty.
The salad was comp’d and there was no apology or acknowledgement from management of the issue.
Overall the experience was embarrassing to us and a poor representation of Charlotte to out of town guests.
Wonderful restaurant I’ve always wanted to go, and today was my chance. I think that our server had a lot of tables so she was unable get back to our table as much as we would have liked. Regardless she took care of our needs very quickly. I highly recommended this restaurant and I’ll definitely be back.
I brought out of town friends for brunch on the patio. We had to move a table and two chairs to accommodate ourselves after running to get to the patio even though we had reservations for 5 for 2 weeks. (Also, the reservation was for 10:45 and the restaurant didn’t even open until 11:00). The tables kept shaking on the uneven ground and had holes in them and our coffee spilled and mimosas fell over because of the holes. I was very embarrassed as I thought this was supposed to be a fine dining experience.
The staff went out of their way to accommodate us and made sure it was a memorable experience.
Our first visit. A nice evening with clear sky provided a very nice first impression. Table was ready right on time. Service started off good but as more guests were seated it became apparent that staffing was not adequate. Food was good but I don’t think worth the price. The establishment presents as an upscale experience but as the evening progressed noise from the bar made conversation a bit difficult with poor acoustics throughout. During our visits to Charlotte we like to search out new locations. Overall, we did enjoy our Fahrenheit experience but in the future our searches will remain at ground level.
The food was in general good, although there were a couple of misses, like fried rice that was warm when it was put in the pan, which resulted in a mushy mess. The major issue I had was the atmosphere, which was loud and ridiculously under dressed (we might as well been poolside) for a fine dining experience. There was a constant throng of people going back and forth past tables to get to the high rise patio views. This is OK if you are a young buck trying to impress the impressionable tweeting, facebooking, selfie taking young ladies, but a large miss for someone looking for a romantic, quiet evening of great views and fine dining. My bad, though, for not digging deeper. Best stick with Barrington's.
The food and service were absolutely great! Loved the atmosphere and mood was perfect to to just chill and hang with friends and family.
Sat us in waiting area next to hostess stand and bar. The noise from the bar was so loud you couldn’t talk and felt like you were sitting in the lobby. Asked to move to table in eating area. Sat us next to kitchen door and wait stand where you could still hear the bar and staff was constantly walking by. Very disappointed. Food was good. Service good, but long time between checkins from server.
I'm from NY, I've eaten at 4 star joints before. That being said, I must say the food was simple and creative. Very tasty and eye pleasing!
The restaurant on the other hand, needed to be cleaned better. Smears and splattering Mark's on the marble next to my eating area! Seats were dirty with food crumbs. Ect.. I don't need to go on.
With the potential to be a power player in Charlotte they need to dial in their house and make sure all is checked before seating people!
The view is about the only thing alluring about this place. I have never had ruder hostesses - they were not only unhelpful but totally standoffish. We had absolutely no service out on the balcony and had to go back inside and request service from the very rude hostesses. By the time a waitress came around to take orders we already decided to leave. The inside is also very dark and most of the tables have no view outside - which like I said - is the only reason to go here.
Check menu on the website It was a different pricing that was false advertising as when we arrived at Fahrenheit the menu pricing was TOTALLY DIFFERENT, I would NOT recommend the menu to anyone, I’ve tasted better fried cauliflower. On the other hand the salad was
Overpriced. We eat at lovely restaurants once to twice a month. There are so many great restaurants in Charlotte we would probably not repeat this one.
I am very upset. My girlfriend and I arrived and decided to sit outside. We understood that it was first come first serve and that was fine. We got a seat and the service started out great. However, after a few moments it was very slow and our waitress did not stand up to our expectations at all. She took my card to start a tab, which I did not want to do because I wanted to pay with cash and I made that very clear. I gave her my card because I was told I had to. After ordering and eating I paid in cash and left. The next morning I woke up and my bank account is showing a charge for $80 at Fahrenheit when I paid cash. Very upset with the service here and the loss of $80.
Found it rather strange that they had the heaters on during a 89+ degree day with the sun shinning with no cloud coverage and they would not turn them off. We wanted to experience the view and sitting outside but it was way to hot with the heaters right next to us. Overall good food, good service and good atmosphere.
Second time we have been there & both times we have had terrible bar service.. having to flag down bartenders to order drinks & they make it seem like an inconvenience
The only thing I didn’t like was that we came for the view and half the rooftop was blocked off for a private event. So the other half was extremely crowded.
It has changed a lot since being there a few years ago. I feel the menu has changed slightly and the prices have increased. No wonder I saw many tables ordering pizza!
Fun place to eat. Great food with great views.
It was our anniversary. Food was good, yet overpriced. Service was fair. It’s all about the views and their selection of mixed drinks is also rather impressive.
Great meal and great service!
Great booth position. Good service. Food was really good on this visit.
Went for a birthday celebration. Was not recognized so we went elsewhere for dessert.
We booked early for a quiet dinner, but a dozen women were 2 tables away with a bachelorette party- so noisy we could not hear ourselves talk
You are paying for the experience and scenery. The $55.00 ribeye that I ordered was tougher than beef jerky. Even though it was cooked to the right temp. It was just a really bad cut of meat. I said something to the manager and was not offered anything or even a re cooked steak.
Great food, but pricy. Would recommend for a special occasion.
I never leave 5-star reviews, but our experience at Fahrenheit was on-point!
The food was great, the service was great, the view was amazing.
We went for our anniversary and requested a quieter area. Everyone involved with our service was aware and catered to the request excellently.
We will definitely recommend and be back.
3 year wedding anniversary
We had a FANTASTIC dinner! The food was excellent, service amazing and views were beautiful! I will be back!
This was our first time going to Fahrenheit. We'd heard lots of good things, so our expectations were set high. It did not disappoint. Everything was terrific - the service, the setting, the wait staff - all of it. We will definitely be back. The stand out for me was the Kung Pao Cauliflower and for wife and son, they said the filet mignon were excellent. Highly recommend!
If not for the manager resolving our issues, it would have been a very bad experience.
Other than the screaming kid, the food akd service was great.
My 3rd and last experience with restaurant. Ambiance is limited to view only which is obvious appeal. Before dark, restaurant itself is tired looking; flowers or paint would help. Noise level acoustics are poor. Surprised by 20% auto service charge for 2 people; disappointed $10 valet which became $12 expensive vs optional $10 cash direct pay to attendant. Waitress did nice job yet manager seems oblivious to patrons.
This is a really good restaurant. Our server Ali was amazing, just attentive enough. The food was delicious. Nice to see the Charlotte skyline on one side, and the open kitchen on the other. Quite pricey, but worth it.
Food..excellent, ambience.great, noise level.terrible.
Food was very good, totally unhappy with the seating. It is all about the view....the side room is a disappointment. All the young people were in the main room. I feel this was by design. Senior Citizens do not like to feel they are relegated to a less visible spot.
Awesome time! Our waiter Isaiah was attentive, knowledgeable and fun. We talked, ate dinner, then took pics outside. It was an amazing night!
The food was not that great for the price. I ordered a steak and I expected to get it the way I want it cooked and not the way the chef thinks I should get it.
Horrible service, one of the worst experience.
In addition, they add an automatic 20% service change. No wonder that the staff is not engaged and offers decent customer service.
Not a fan of food. If going on restaurant week, beware. Servers take long time and automatic 20% gratuity added - no exceptions. And this is on top of paying $10 to park your car. Ate at Mortons the night before. Free valet, excellent food and service and gratuity not forced on you. I doubled the tip for server at Mortons.
We had a terrible experience at Fahrenheit. Although I indicated in my reservation that my family was celebrating my birthday, we were seated at an interior table where we could not enjoy the view. Since my daughter has a sensitive stomach, we asked for all condiments/seasoning on her chicken sliders on the side. Since that was not done, she got an upset stomach and started crying. The rest of our party got the lobster mac and cheese entrée. It was so greasy and heavy that I got a stomachache even though I do not have a sensitive stomach at all. The background music was obnoxious and so loud that we could not hear each other talk across the table. Then, a large party was seated at the table next to our family and the sound carried such that any remaining hope of conversation at our table was extinguished. There is no parking at the restaurant and $10 is charged for valet parking but I did not even see a valet had I wanted one. We had ordered the Queen's feast menu during restaurant week, but we were so upset that did not even stay for dessert. I cannot imagine a much worse restaurant experience. Although we did receive a discount for not getting dessert and they did not charge for my daughter's meal that she was unable to eat, it was still very expensive and not worth the price.
We went during restaurant week and took our 13 year old granddaughter. After reading some scathing reviews we almost cancelled--- glad we didn't. People complained about the 20% surcharge during restaurant week. We asked our server and she confirmed that it was in fact the tip -- not a problem because we almost always tip 20%. This was added because our server said that a couple of years ago people were tipping nothing.
The view is very nice and the food was good --- we will return.
