Fadó Irish Pub - Philadelphia
I love Fadó for it’s convenient location and nooks and crannies inside but need to remind myself this is not the place to go if one wants to converse...
Fadó is my go-to before a show at the Kimmel Center. If we’re running late, the staff will accommodate a request to serve quickly, but if we want a relaxed meal they’ll accommodate that also. If you like lamb, be sure to get any of the menu items contain lamb - I’ve never had one which was less than memorable!
We had a great time watching the soccer match there!
Delightful taste combinations. Absolutely loved it. Great service and a perfectly poured pint of Guinness.
Went here before seeing a show at the Academy of Music. Great atmosphere and great food. I felt like the food was reasonably priced for being in the city and you definitely got your money's worth. Drinks a bit on the expensive side, but they had an extensive list to choose from.
This was our first trip to Fado Irish Pub. We chose it because of the close proximity to the Academy of Music, where we were seeing a show. We were seated before our reservation time, which was nice, since we arrived earlier than expected. It was extremely noisy inside. It was very difficult to carry on a conversation due to the noise and how the table that we were shown to was set up. There were chairs on one side and a bench seat on the other side; however, the bench seat was much lower than the table, so my husband felt like he wasn't at a comfortable level for eating. It was impossible for either of us to lean forward to make speaking easier. We were seated around 5:40; our waitress was prompt in taking our drink and appetizer order, but it took forever for our main dish to be served Our food did not come out of the kitchen until around 6:45. It was good, but overall, I was not impressed with our first visit. I would be willing to try again, sitting in a different part of the restaurant.
Our server, Lori, was fantastic. She understood our needs and was took care of us from the get go. Food was very tasty and the drinks very cold!! Thank you Lori
Best bottomless brunch in Philly. Incredible service
was there on Mother's Day but we frequently dine there when we are going to concerts at the Kimmel Center. The food is always great but there are times when the noise is a little overwhelming, but not enough so that we would not come back.
Food was good but service was ok at best considering it wasn’t busy at all. Was my first time there and was disappointing for a center city establishment. May go back at some point but wouldn’t go out of my way to go there.
Yes! We had to make a train, and the server got our bill right away since we were in a hurry.
They were out of several menu options. Our server was not friendly and almost made us feel foolish for ordering items that had run out. Food was good, but there are better options out there.
The only thing I would have wanted to make my experience even better was some Irish music. Lack of Irish music kind of killed the ambiance for me.
Our server, Gina was great. We had a few cocktails and two entrees. I had the fish n chips which were so good. Will be back again!!
They have fun cocktails like a Pickleback (Shot of Tullamore D.E.W. Irish Whiskey with a cold pickle brine chaser) It's the future shooter. Started out with the fried goat cheese - and dipping it in the jalapeño infused honey was very good. We shared the Irish stew special and the Shephard's Pie. Even though these filled us up we had to try the bread pudding. the pub food is good and the atmosphere lively!
Great meal, great service. Will come back in the future.
Great Happy Hour. Perfect for Pre show dining. We will be back.
The food was very tasty. Love teh Shepherd's pie. The service was average. It was a little loud as their was a live band, and I am a little old, so....would have loved it 20 years ago ;-).
Great time and our server Dana was Awesome! She gave great drink and menu recommendations
The service and atmosphere were both upbeat & happy! The food was unexpectedly good for bar food and the time of day & bustle. Such a convenient location to the Kimmel and something for everyone from grandma down to the grandkids.
This was a great place to have lunch before the show at the Merriam Theater. The atmosphere was very nice with dark wood and seating groupings. Loved the light strands in the windows. The fried goat cheese appetizer was fabulous as was the burger with the fried egg.
I don't know how many times we have walked past this pub, but we decided to make reservations for St. Valentine's day. We got the seats we wanted, the food and drink were excellent, and we will certainly return!
We met our son for brunch. I lived the pub atmosphere, the corned beef hash is delicious, and our table allowed us an intimate conversation.
A birthday brunch before a 1 pm concert performance. Great location, close to theater. Only negative—and we DID know this was an Irish pub—was the noise level at 11 am on a Sunday morning. But a rugby match was on and the guys in the bar were having a great time. So, really no complaint.
Great pub atmosphere, lovely wait staff, great food, and Guinness!
Excellent food! Professional & friendly service! Fantastic Guinness! Outstanding value! Next time we visit Philadelphia, we will be back.
The good here is AWESOME. Our second time here and we will be back. Waitress was super helpful and nice. Bar was hopping. We had a table by the window. Highly recommend this Irish bar and restaurant.
Dana, our waitress, was great! She was very attentive and knowledgeable about the drinks and menu items. Loved everything she suggested.
Wonderful place to go before a show. easy to get to. Wonderful food. Great service. well made drinks. Will definitely go back.
Great spot to watch a game. Waitress was attentive. The salmon appetizer is amazing!! Short walk to the Academy of Music. We will be back!
My husband and I had tickets to a 1:00 pm show at the Academy of Music. We stopped here for an early lunch before the play. It was a cold January day and they sat us by the fireplace, which was very nice. It's just around the corner from the Academy of Music so it was a short walk afterward. The food was delicious and the environment was very comfortable. I highly recommend the "Salmon Bites"....delicious.
Was pleasantly surprised by our dining experience. The atmosphere was fun, the food was great and the menu varied. Not at all expensive. We will diffidently come back again before a show.
Great views of TV’s from many seats; good for watching big games.
Nice brunch menu, good food.
Delicious food. Seasonal specials. Fresh ingredients. Great service. Very nice restaurant! Will be recommending to family and friends.
Great time at Fadó. The food was excellent and the service was courteous and prompt. I made a reservation on open table for 3 and we were a little early. It was no problem and we were seated in a charming spot by the fireplace. Ambience is great and really it appears there’s not a bad spot in the place. Reasonably priced drinks with Harp on Tap!!! Very nice place to go after a show or to hang out, or have dinner. Very happening bar. TVs on to play the games but not obtrusive. Shepherds pie and fish and chips good. A definite winner!
We had a late lunch at Fado before going to a performance of the Nutcracker. The food is absolutely delicious! My sister always orders the fish and chips (outstanding!), but I am a little bit more adventurous. This time I ordered the chicken and butternut squash pot pie which was awesome! We enjoyed the yummy flatbread starter too. We were happy to see that Fado took reservations for Sunday afternoon because it's always busy and we really wanted to eat there. Can't wait to go back!
All dressed up for the holidays ... cozy and cute brunch at Fadó
Food, drinks, and service were outstanding. Only downside was we were seated next to the bar where a large group of extremely loud drunk men were and they kept coming to our table and interrupting our meal with inappropriate comments and conversation.
Food was terrific and heir Old Fashioned was amazing! Love the atmosphere and proximity to the Merriam Theater.
