Fadó Irish Pub - Philadelphia
The menu and quality atmosphere at Fadó will reset your expectation around what it means to eat at an Irish Pub. There is a broad range of snacks for sharing and fantastic burgers and sandwiches. The star of our entrée section is our Fish and Chips which uses sustainably caught cod from the deep waters off of Iceland. You’ll also see Irish staples like Shepherd’s Pie and Corned Beef and Cabbage. We take great pride in our seasonal menu which changes regularly.
We are known for our cocktail selection with an emphasis on Irish spirits, a broad range of local craft beers and, of course, the best Pint of Guinness in Philly.
Our calling card is our hospitality and everything you see in the pubs was built in Ireland and shipped to the U.S.A.
Great food super nice staff and can make a great drink!!!
Very loud when I went after an afternoon show at the Kimmel Center. Thank goodness I had reservations. Food was good. Service was ok. Waitress didn't look too happy to be working .
We made a reservation for brunch at Fadó to try something new but were told ten minutes after being seated with brunch menus that they were no longer serving brunch or honoring brunch specials that day. We were told this at 1pm when their website, internet, and brunch menu state that it runs until 3.
Went to Fado before a show at the Merriam theater. Food was very good, as was the atmosphere, and the service was very friendly and efficient. Really appreciated that food was delivered to the table in a timely fashion.
It was the perfect place to dine before seeing Hello Dolly. I will return.
Very pleasant time. The shepherds pie was good and filling. So was the beer!
We were early for our reservation since traffic wasn’t bad coming into city. Thank goodness. We needed every minute. The food was typical Irish pub food. It was good but not excellent. I liked the surroundings. Warm and inviting. Very active. Looked like fun if we didn’t have somewhere to be. The service was the worst I’ve experienced in a long time. Right from the beginning, the waitress was disinterested and sullen. My companion and I were having a nice visit, so weren’t alarmed. We waited 20 minutes before we had to call her to order drinks. She never came to the table unless she was called. Other wait staff brought our food to the table after I asked for it. She knew from the beginning we had tickets to Academy of Music and had a time limit. At one point, nearing the end, when I started to worry we would miss curtain time, I said to her, “we need to prepare to leave. This is what I need-a container and the bill”. She stared in my face with a nasty expression and walked away without comment. It was 20 minutes after that before our dessert came (topping melted) and another 10 after that before she brought the bill. I am not a demanding diner but to have to ask for everything, was ridiculous. It was so bad that another waitress brought a 15% off card to us to encourage us to return to give them another try. I had not complained to anyone. An acceptable meal that should have taken around an hour took us 2 hours 15 minutes! For the first time in my life I will say, they need to get rid of,that waitress. I doubt if I am willing to return. I would certainly refuse to have her as my waitress.
Fun and excellent Irish Pub fare
Went to Fadó after a show at the Kimmel Center. The staff was. Wry accommodating to our party of 9 that included 5 children 6 and under.
Outstanding service, food and value. Always good.
We had sliders
they were delicious server was great
overall nice evening
Good pub food. We ordered the fish and chips, and they were very good. Nice beer selection as well. Excellent service. The table was ready when we arrived and we were done in plenty of time to catch our show.
As always, a great place to eat.
Consistent, good, friendly, comforting
We had reservations. There was no hostess so we had to find a waiter to seat us. We both ordered Shepherd's Pie and it was delicious. The brown bread they gave us was also very good. We told them we had tickets to the theater and they had us out with plenty of time to spare.
Been here many times, however this last visit was marred by the outrageous noise level in the restaurant.
It was impossible to have a conversation at the table. We were seated fairly close to the bar which was packed with Happy Hour patrons.
We planned a get together dinner after the theatre and everyone in our group enjoyed the excitement of Fado and the food and drinks. Definitely will return!!
I love Fado....but I wish we had been seated.away from the TV speakers. They were uncomfortably loud. When we asked to have the volume turned down, we were told there was nothing to be done. My friends and I wanted to talk to each other. We should have been moved to a quieter section, but that was not offered to us. I will think twice before returning. Very sad.
Two of our salads were skimpy - onl ysome bits of beets and a few slivers of pears which could hardly be seen. The five of us were seated next to a VERY LOUD table of young people so we could hardly converse at all. We don't plan on returning.
Only one menu provided for table; ordered fish and chips at lunch time and was charged for dinner portion. Questioned our server about the charge and was told I needed to indicate a lunch portion when ordering.
Decent place for pub food and beer, but quite loud.
We have gone to this restaurant many times and love it
Fado had a definite Irish flavor in the atmosphere but the biggest reason the six of us liked it was the FOOD. Everything was prepared carefully and was delicious. We are not from Philadelphia but were attending an event. You can be certain we will be back. This was our second visit and there WILL be more. Thanks to our wonderful server on such a busy night.
Had the fish and chips lunch portion, just right size. Chips were crispy, fish was delicious. Atmosphere feels like a pub in Ireland
We will definitely return to Fado. We had the Shepard's Pie and Corned Beef and Cabbage. Both were fantastic. Our waiter was efficient, attentive and personable. Prices were very good.
Loved our visit to Fado! We were in Philly for a show at the Kimmel Center and picked Fado since it was so close to the theater. Our meals, drinks, service, atmosphere, etc. was absolutely perfect! The party I was with all agreed it would be worth a trip back to Philly just to go visit Fado again. Rave reviews of the Shepherd's Pie from people in our party, and I personally had the Beet Salad with Beet Hummus and it was outstanding! Thanks for such a great way to end our day in Philly!
We had a great time. the service was exceptional ! and the food really really good
Food selection tho limited was good. Not too loud. A good place to go before a show
A great pre-theater place to meet up and catch a drink and a bite to eat before the show. Started with the cheese dip and goat cheese balls then the seasonal flatbread and burgers. Happy hour pricing was an extra benefit. Our server Kia was attentive and gave us recommendations that helped on our first-time visit. I would definitely return.
It was a great place for a group. We had 10 people just before the show. Service was great, and we spent a while relaxing and talking. The atmosphere is conducive to just enjoying your company
Fado is perfect for what it is. It is a big bar with a long Happy Hour that is executed quite well. Food is tasty and inexpensive. Beer choices are numerous and varied and include some I like (I have unsophisticated tastes in beer). Seating is plentiful and supports separation among the many parties. I liked the combination.
I particularly liked the flatbread (a small pizza) but I also enjoyed the fish taco's with a bit of spice and some other small dishes. Everything had a lot of flavor.
The bar is composed of numerous small rooms, so even though it is large you don't see or hear all the other parties (only the ones in your room).
Hands down.... best shepherds pie ever! Highly recommend it!
10/10 Would recommend to anyone looking for an old irish pub feel, food, and drink.
Great service, pub fare with a touch of adventure, good selection of drinks, reasonable pricing (especially for a center-of-town place). Some menu items are outstanding (Irish breakfast and fish & chips to name two), the rest are at least good. No wonder it's busy.
The hostess/waitress was amazing! She seated us early and since we were there to see the Liverpool game made sure we had great seats to see the game. They show the game on several TVs and the bar was full of soccer fans. The food was wonderful and the waitress was spot on with her recommendations! Overall a great place for a dinner! Highly recommend!
Always a good time, food was delicious, selection of beer good.
I love Fadó for it’s convenient location and nooks and crannies inside but need to remind myself this is not the place to go if one wants to converse...
Fadó is my go-to before a show at the Kimmel Center. If we’re running late, the staff will accommodate a request to serve quickly, but if we want a relaxed meal they’ll accommodate that also. If you like lamb, be sure to get any of the menu items contain lamb - I’ve never had one which was less than memorable!
We had a great time watching the soccer match there!
Delightful taste combinations. Absolutely loved it. Great service and a perfectly poured pint of Guinness.
Went here before seeing a show at the Academy of Music. Great atmosphere and great food. I felt like the food was reasonably priced for being in the city and you definitely got your money's worth. Drinks a bit on the expensive side, but they had an extensive list to choose from.
