Love the patio and protected outside seating. But the food and service is why we return over and over! It's a true gem with enough choices for everyone to find something they will like…and the food is always good. Lots of smiles and happy people here every time I go.

Very nice, beautiful space and nice staff. The food and efficiency of service leaves quite a bit to be desired. I had the chaquiletequiles — the eggs were perfectly scrambled and the avocado just the right amount of ripeness. The coffee was tasty too. That’s where the good part ended. I ordered a biscuit as a side, and it was grilled, which gave it a smokey taste I didn’t like, and it was extremely dry and bland. The tortilla chips were soggy as soon as the plate arrived. My friend had to wait and wait for a wine menu after requesting it, and he had wait quite a while for the glass he ordered to finally show up. No one at our table of four were overly impressed with our dishes.

I had a great experience at Fable. Came with my wife and 2 friends. We started with the ahi tuna and the scallops & pork belly. Both were very good! Then, I had the NY strip, which was also very good! The service was very good. They did only have beer & wine, no cocktails. But they had a good selection of beer & wine. We did not have dessert. Everything on the dessert menu looked good, we were just stuffed!

I was put off by the waiters response to my request for a salad course to be chopped and split. I was told in no uncertain terms, the salad could be chopped but they do not split dishes. It is my feeling that It’s not as though the restaurant is too busy to accommodate special requests. I’m not impressed by such inflexibility..

Sunday brunch - food was nothing to remember but the service was poor. The waitperson was ok but the manager was rude and asked us to leave the table as there were reservations waiting. We were still drinking our coffee. I have never been asked to leave a restaurant. If the food were great that's one thing but as it stands I will never return to this restaurant and I will not recommend it to others.

Beautiful patio with heat lamps, feels intimate with a rain forest vibe. The pork chops were outstanding- the butternut squash, spices, and apple were flavorful and an ideal compliment to the pork chop. We also enjoyed the sauvignon blanc, salad, and pear crisp and ice cream, although I'd go for ice cream with more vanilla flavor. The staff were very nice and welcoming. Overall we had a really lovely evening out and I'd definitely return.

Hidden gem on Castro. Food was great. Although they made a good use of space I felt cramped next to a plant that my head keep touching. We sat right as you walk back. The upper level at very back looks to be the best place to sit. Great selection of wines.

Great experience. Food was excellent. Everyone from the person at the front door who greeted us to the serves to our excellent waiter were exceptional. The setting was a perfect end to a busy day at the convention center. Being surrounded by beautiful greenery, the sound of water, and happy customers created a friendly warm spot for this out of tower. I will definitely bookmark this as a place to stop every time I visit San Francisco. It’s a treasure!!!

Wonderful food! Excellent service in the back garden area. Had the rockfish special! Rich & creamy potatoes, blanched and grilled asparagus and blackened rock cod with a sauce to die for. We’ll definitely be back. The dessert came with ice cream from the fountain next-door. Love SF Mom & Pop restaurants!

Intimate garden dining, the menu was not overwhelming, but had a nice selection of interesting dishes. Our order was delivered as placed. Everything was great. We both ordered the same dish, both portions were delivered to the table in a shared dish. This was perfect. I can highly recommend this neighborhood gem.

Excellent staff, but limited gluten free options. No gluten free bread, and the potatoes, bacon and tortilla chips are fried in the same fryer as gluten items which limits more choices. It’s really too bad, because the people and atmosphere are great. There are maybe two items on the menu that are all gluten free.
