Fabiolus Cucina Ratings and Reviews
Insanely busy on a Saturday evening. Stood around for 5 minutes upon arrival until I went and found a hostess to tell her I had a reservation. Once seated we sat there for 10 minutes before anyone even brought water and bread. Had to chase someone down to order and again to get the check. I was told I couldn’t order the risotto I wanted because I was going to a show at the Pantages and it wouldn’t be ready fast enough even though I arrived at 6:15 pm and the curtain was 8 pm. It might be a nice place for lunch or an early or late dinner but not a good choice for a pre-show meal.
Service was bad. There were a lot of people in the restaurant because it was Saturday night.
While we were waiting to be seated, waiters appeared caring food that looked and smelled great. That was not to be our experience.
Our waiter took our order and disappeared. Other people brought food, but weren't attentive.
We ordered grilled Brussel Spouts, which were supposed to be grilled with garlic and oil. When they appeared (with the main dish), they had been steamed and only had a slight brown spot on each one. No flavor - not even salt let alone garlic.
The pasta we got - very quickly - was supposed to be pasta primavera and we asked for shrimp to be added. The pasta looked unappetizing - an odd color of orange. There were only a few carrots and sprigs of broccoli on it, and there were no shrimp. When we talked with yet another person we had t to call over, he left with the pasta and came back a few minutes later with the same pasta with a few shrimp added. The shrimp were not seasoned and added nothing. In fact, there was so much cream in the sauce that it tasted Kraft macaroni and cheese. Cold and dismal.
The waiter said he'd bring bread when he took our order, but we had to ask for it after we had started eating. At least it had some pesto sauce for dipping, which we added to the Brussel Sprouts to make them taste like something.
The house wine - Cabernet - was sweet and half way through, tasted like alcohol, but not much more than that. Even though we said the dinner was awful, no one came to see if they could correct anything. We decided against dessert and will never go back.
We came for a pre-show dinner. It was quite busy. When I called to say I would be late, I was warned they fill up pre-show. They were extremely accommodating. The atmosphere was casual. The menu was authentic Italian. My son and I both had pasta dishes and I had a small Cesar salad. We considered dessert, but the tray shown to us looked a bit tired, which didn’t appeal, and the selection was not to our taste. Overall, I have a 4 to the food, because it was tasty and authentic. They were extremely friendly, however it was challenging to get the waiters attention for long periods at some points. I would definitely come back, with more time.
Fabiolus had been our go-to restaurant for pre-theater dining in years past. However, it appears the quality of cuisine has faltered, portions have shrunk and prices have gone up. A rather disappointing dining experience for us. It seemed as if our food (penne Siciliana for both of us) had been prepared previously and then reheated. The eggplant that was to be in the dish was almost non-existent. We were pressed for time or we would have sent both dishes back. Very disappointing dining experience. When looking for dining options prior to going to the theater, we shall seek out other options the next time around.
I love this restaurant. I have been going here for years for our before or after Pantages Theater shows. My nieces grew up with this tradition and now that they are grown I continue it with girlfriends. Great food...traditional Italian and that is my favorite.
My granddaughter and I enjoyed our meal at Fabiolus Cucina very much. The service was excellent and the fact that we were able to park our car there until after we returned from the theater was an added bonus. I will definitely recommend this wonderful restaurant.
We went here before seeing a play. The food came out in just a few minutes. You don't need a lot of time for the meal if you are going to see a show. We had a 5:45 reservation and planned to walk to Pantages before 7. Probably could have done a 6:30 reservation next time. Food was very good and we would go back again.
Booked a table at Fabiolus Cucina for 4 to have a business dinner. Was greeted quickly upon arriving and seated straight away. The service was excellent and the food was really great! We each had something different and every dish came out perfectly. The cocktails were great too!!
If you want a great meal with great service in Hollywood this is the place to go!! Highly recommend it!
The Pantages Theatre in Hollywood had this restaurant on their suggested list for pre/post theatre dining. We had high expectations given the written recommendation, and are pleased to say, the chef, food, service and atmosphere far exceeded those expectations. As we always do, each of the 3 of us ordered something different and each entrée was exceptional. We even had some dessert, pumpkin cheesecake that was the best we have ever had. The restaurant had valet parking and we were able to leave our car there during the show. Overall, a great dining and theatre experience. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
We made a reservation for 6 but then called to add 2 more people at the last minute, which the restaurant accommodated without issue. The service was perfect; not overly-bearing but also not dismissive. The food was good, but I would have appreciated the option of evening specials or a "theatre special menu," although the restaurant did an excellent job in having our meal completed in plenty of time for the show at the Pantages that evening.
We decided to go this restaurant because it was convenient to park our car and attend a play closeby. Fortunately, we made reservations through open table because the place was packed when we arrived. The service was very good and the only negative comment I have to say is that it was extremely noisey so we decided not to stay for dessert and coffee. Our dinners were reasonable and very good.
Fabulous burrata and tomato salad. Perfectly cooked risotto and fabulous mushroom fabulous ravioli. Complimentary birthday Panna Cotta was so smooth and delicious and happy birthday was sang to my daughter by the whole wait staff with gusto! I always come here before any show at Pantages. So yummy and cute!
This was a pleasant place for a pre-theater dinner at the Pantages Theater. There was a nice atmosphere, service was courteous and timely. The food was so-so. My lasagna was overcooked, the pasta itself too soft (I prefer al dente). The prices were very reasonable. I might go there again if I attend a play at the Pantages but would not drive there for the food.
We came here right before we went to see Hamilton at the Pantages. The space was close and convenient and the outdoor area was beautiful, although I wish there was some sort of air. They didn't give us the option to sit inside and it was very warm. The food was good, but nothing spectacular. I had one of the house favorites--a mushroom pasta--and the pasta itself tasted very over-buttered. However, the servers were nice (although it did take quite a while to get the check). Overall, it was a fine experience but I wouldn't go back.
We had a delicious dinner before going to the theater. We shared a Veneta salad, delicious arugula and spinach with fresh parmesan, a homemade spinach ravioli and a tagliata marinated skirt steak that was served with arugula. The sauce on the pasta was flavorful and the food was well seasoned. Also, parking is available for both dinner and events afterwards at a reasonable rate.
Terribly under staffed for waiters, not servers. We sat for 30 min until I complained we had not even been seen by a waiter. We went there for a pre-theatre dinner and were very concerned we would miss our show. Food is good, basic Italian. It arrived hot and quickly. The focaccia bread was very fresh. The red wines by the glass were also very good. However, to our chagrin, others who sat after us received their dinners before us. Desert was mediocre. The chocolate cheesecake was dry and grainy. The tiramisu in a glass had no espresso in it. We had to make repeated requests for our check. The table next to us advocated for us with the waiter to give us our check. It wouldn’t have happened on time otherwise. The restaurant offered to comp us a glass of wine for the inconvenience but this never appeared on the check. We just wanted to get the hell out of there so we let it go. We won’t go back again.
Nice little restaurant within walking distance of the Pantages theater.
We went for an early dinner after a matinee performance of 'Hamilton'.
We had reservations for a party of 6 and our table was ready as promised in the nice covered patio area. Our server quickly took our drink order and brought us some delicious focaccia bread with an olive tapanade spread. Salads were large and easy to share. We ordered a margarita pizza to share as an appetizer and it was a perfectly cooked thin crust with fresh mozzarella. Our entrees were all good. We didn't have room for dessert, but they looked delicious. Overall, we were very happy with our meal. The patio dining was in the back of the restaurant and it was nice to be able to have a conversation without loud music or street noise.
Everyone in our party agreed that it was the perfect post theater meal.
