The food & drinks were great. Our server was very attentive and she was very knowledgeable about the menu. I needed help selecting a cocktail as I don't usually drink tequila and she was able to help with my selection.
The one downside was the kitchen door. It made a loud noise every time it closed. If we were seated a bit farther away, it may not be a problem.
Good service. Food
I found F & D Cantina on Zagat as we were in the area for a volleyball tournament and had experienced a very long day. We wanted a local place that had great Mexican food and boy, was this place right on the money. They seated us immediately, our server was super nice, knew the menu very well and helped all of us make selections which did not disappoint. When the bill came, we were surprised at how reasonable it had been. The nachos should not be missed nor the queso dip. Not your usual approach to either of these dishes. When I'm back in the Orlando area, I will definitely seek them out.
This is a great alternative to Chuy. The food is original and tasty.
Food was decent, service was good. The only thing was they don't offer a lot of choices for food and drinks. Atmosphere was nice.
Asked when I made the reservation (through Opentable) that I be seated at a booth. Ate my entire meal seated at a 4 person low top, looking at a row of empty booths. We were told they were reserved for the owner. (Apparently, the owner bailed on the seats more than an hour later. Manager didn't seem to care or help, knowing we reserved a booth 2+ hours earlier.) Good food. Poorly run.
This was my second time at this restaurant and I must say the service improved significantly. The trio dip was great and so was the main course, I had the steak with rice and beans (sorry can't recall the name), and it was great! I will definitely be going again. I have heard great things about their brunch and that may be my next stop.
The place was nearly empty when we arrived. Just a few other tables.
Dip trio would have been so much better it the queso had been hot and the quac would have been seasoned with a little more onion, garlic, or something. Street tacos were fine. Shrimp enchiladas were Amazing.
Love this place! Love the food and drinks. Everything is made fresh and of good quality. Please keep it up. Thank you for your great food and service.
There are no vegetarian options outside of a single salad and guacamole. The food was so-so and the salsa was very watery. If you have food allergies or require a special diet this is not the place to dine.
Nice atmosphere and warm place. Tables stand not to close, so there is enough space. Friendly but slow service. Quesa dip was great, tacos a little bit too soft and parts of the food already cold when served.
I like the place, but there is room for improvement.
My husband and I have been waiting for a Mexican spot to come to our side of town and we are so happy with F&D Cantina. Only been there once but the enchiladas were good, guacamole was great and the drinks were awesome. Their house salsa is really good too! Looking forward to going back to try the rest of their menu items that look delish! :)
Interesting food, with choices for almost everyone. Our server was interactive and interested, but lead to slower than anticipated service.
I've enjoyed the seafood enchiladas and chicken and churros. As a party of 10 we sampled almost every app. All in all, great night!
I do not like Mexican food, but I LOVED F&D Cantina!!! Seriously, I have no affiliation with the restaurant. My husband likes Bourbon, and I saw on their website that they have small batch Bourbon so I thought we could try it. The free chips and salsa were really good (those nice thin, light chips with very good salsa). We ordered the Roasted Corn appetizer- it was fantastic. I got the Ceviche - I'm a Ceviche snob so I am always wary of ordering it, but it was excellent - lots of shrimp and crab. It could have been a little larger, but it was great. My husband got the Shrimp and Crab Enchillada. I've never had an enchillada that I really liked, but this was awesome. A lot of Shrimp and Crab, and this wonderful cheese on it - it really didn't taste like any normal Mexican food I've ever had. My husband had the Elija Craig Bourbon and really liked it too! Highly recommend!
Food was awesome. service was slow .... seemed like a lot of tables seated quickly may have overwhelmed the kitchen. but staff was very pleasant!! it is a little pricey but food was very tasty.
Food was excellent and innovative. Everything was super fresh and offered a variety of different flavors.
Great selection of beers and although I didn't enjoy a specialty cocktail, I will in the future as they looked superb. The service was also great.
Only one downfall, no vegetarian options outside of appetizers.
