Excellent food - the prix fixe meal is generous and provides a variety of fantastic flavors.
The service staff were so pleasant and inviting, my wife took me to Ezme for my birthday and we both enjoyed the cuisine and the staff.
Stopped in here for a quick meal on a Monday night, and was very pleased with the food, ambience and service. I had Hellim Paynir (grilled Cypriot cheese with basil vinegar reduction) and the Külbasti (marinated chunks of lamb). Both were delicious, and were nice accompaniments to the flight of red Turkish wines that I enjoyed.
Good food, nice atmosphere. Was in and out for a quick dinner, server was very helpful even though it was very busy.
I went with a couple friends on a Saturday night and we had the 3-course feast menu. The food was delicious and the service could not have been better. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Learned about Ezme online, so took a chance - and found a gem! The service was attentive and accommodating. The mezze style plates were just great and clearly Turkish vs. generic Mediterranean! Spanakopita style 'cigars', eggplant tapenade and zucchini pancakes were delicious hits! Check it out...
Even though the dishes are all mezzas, the portions really are too small. With a group of three they should at least serve three items per plate. For example, the zucchini patties. The best part was the desserts. We each had a different one & all were delicious.
We liked our meal. Filet beefsteak dinner excellent, grilled bronzino good but too dry. Overall dinner v. good. Only negative comment was sequence/timing of dishes as they were brought out was out of wack. My husband’s appetizer and entree arrived together after a long wait.
Great little find. Varied menu, good drink options, and attentive service. Food was very good. Would be happy to return.
The Food at Ezme is always delicious. Service was great. We couldn't eat a number of items on their Tasting Menu, so the chef offered replacements for all of them. The food at Ezme is unique and delicious. Definitely order the Muhammara and the Shepherd's Salad.
A great and delicious experience. We will return!
We had never been to a restaurant billed as Turkish/Mediteranean before so we were excited to try it during DC restaurant week. It was a great experience. The servers were friendly and explained what the dishes were. The tasting menu (and special for restaurant week) has 11 dishes on it including dessert so each dish has exactly one tasting portion per person at the table. This was a great way to sample the various dishes. One strange thing was the wine list only listed prices for HALF a bottle so be careful or you will have a VERY BIG SURPRISE when your bill comes. Fortunately, our server pointed that out to us and we made adjustments accordingly (the Turkish wine is very good). Would go again if in DC and order the dishes we enjoyed the most. The tasting menu left us pleasantly full but not stuffed
THERE DURING RESTAURANT WEEK . FOOD WAS GOOD BUT NOT GREAT. WAITRESS VERY GOOD EVEN THOUGH SHE WAS BUSY. WINES POOR AND OVERPRICED. THE DECOR IS WORN, CHAIRS WERE RIPPED, WINE GLASSES DIRTY. THIS IS OK FOR NEIGHBORHOOD DINING BUT NOTHING SPECIAL AND THE PRICES ARE NO BARGAIN, THERE IS BETTER MEDITERRANEAN FOOD IN DUPONT AREA.
This restaurant has delicious food, chill ambiance, and attentive staff.
The staff was very attentive and helpful, food was very interesting, ambiance was very nice. We were there for Restaurant Week and it was everything I would have wanted it to be.
Great experience at Ezme. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Don't miss the scallops! Phenomenal! A bunch of different options - land, sea, meat.
Turkish tasting menu was excellent; accompanying wine selections very nice; service prompt, knowledgeable and amiable; valet parking efficient. Atmosphere casual, with tables somewhat close together -- good for friends' get-together, probably not ideal for business discussions.
Everything was very good. But the rice pudding was the best that we have ever had!
Ezme consistently provides great Mediterranean food...fresh ingredients; good wine values. It is a little in need of some new furniture, but the staff is wonderful. You can actually hear your dinner companions.
Every one of the dishes we ordered was carefully prepared delicious. We are vegetarians so we appreciated dishes that were healthy and very tasty. The service was excellent, very attentive but not hovering or pushy. Ambience was very pleasant. Good selection of affordable wines, including an excellent Turkish wine. Would definitely return and recommend it to friends.
Our first time eating here, and it was delicious! The salmon kebabs were very good - I highly recommend these. The cold yogurt soup and hummus dip were very good too. My client had the pancakes too and said they were yummy. I will definitely go back.
Fine fate and ambience for casual dinner with date or friends. Food well spiced and prepared. Service and all else fine. Recommend it!
Had a lovely meal and evening. Met with out-of-town friends and we ended up being there for two hours. While the restaurant was busy, there were always a few empty tables and the staff did not try to push us out. The food was delicious and their wine recommendation was great.
WIll go back!
Amazing meal. Amazing service. Incredible value.
Shrimp stew was out of this world. Rack of lamb was top notch. Zucchini pancakes are beautiful and delicious. Filo dough dessert did not disappoint. Turkish coffee capped of the meal.
Hospitality was something to behold.
A DC treasure.
We celebrated a birthday here a few days ago. The staff are attentive, and worked with us around dietary preferences. The menu choices are varied and nicely presented. It hadn't been clear that many if not all of the non-appetizer options were small plates until the server explained this; I hadn't planned on spending as much as e did but was happy to be flexible given the occasion.
My friend had the lentil soup and a large salad, bot of which were delicious. Lots of first-rate bread arrived along with olive oil and vinegar, which my gluten friendly buddy polished off during the course of the meal.
We were encouraged to order 2-3 small plates, but I'm glad I only ordered one. The first was grilled lamb ad figs, and it was heavenly-perfectly cooked, juicy and the grilled figs made quite a mouth party. There was a generous pour of Prosceco. But the chicken patties plus my side of potatoes proved to be way too much food, and the patties were like rocks.
Unless you're starving, start slow. For some reason my friend was served his soup and salad right away, while my dinner of course took a bit longer, so we ate together separately.
The ambience is warm, the staff are suer and almost of al the food was perfect-I'm planing on returning the next time I'm in DC.
Didn’t know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. After living in Northern Germany I’ve been missing good Turkish food and Ezmè didn’t disappoint! Highly recommend their tasting menu. Great food and you’ll leave very full!
I took friend with me she was very happy and she said best food in DC so far
Thank you Ezme
Very enjoyable food and overall experience. We enjoyed the tasting menu and wine.
The food and atmosphere was great - the portions were a little small vs our expectations but otherwise an excellent option.
We were treated royally with lovely samples of all the menu items. Staff was very knowledgeable and competent.
Emery time we go, we just feel relaxed and well served. It's cozy and unpretentious. A gem in our neighborhood!
Very good food and even tho it was extremely crowded, service was acceptable. More attention paid to larger groups than to the “couples” tables.
We really enjoyed our meal. Our server was very pleasant and explained the different dishes to us when asked. She made good suggestions re. the meal as we were not familiar with the turkish food served. The quantity of food was very generous and it was tasty.I would definitly recommend it and go back when I am in D.C. again.
Fantastic atmosphere and food! Service was wonderful and personal.
Ezme is a very good local neighborhood restaurant with authentic Turkish food. The ambience is a bit compromised by worn furniture so I would not recommend this for an upscale dining experience. The staff was friendly and prompt, however, when I asked for an individual dessert they placed it center table for sharing anyway. I would return but I would temper my recommendation to others based on Ezme's tattered appearance.
Great quiet restaurant with tasty food. The tasting menu is especially wonderful and a good deal.
This is probably the best Turkish restaurant out there! Great selections from the Middle East which include the regular kebabs but also amazing stews and favorites like the "Keradis Guvec"!
The location is also prime in the middle of DuPont circle!
Have been there before many times. This place has seen better times. Service is good.
Lamb kebab dish was quite good, salmon was dry, most of the other dishes were average. They served normal baguettes instead of pita which would have been more authentic.
This was our first time in a Turkish restaurant and they were extremely helpful and attentive. Everything we tried was wonderful and the revive was excellent. This was our first stop on our vacation and it was a fabulous start! I would definitely recommend this spot for a reasonably priced delicious meal. The size of the servings was great!
