Ezme Ratings and Reviews
The Food at Ezme is always delicious. Service was great. We couldn't eat a number of items on their Tasting Menu, so the chef offered replacements for all of them. The food at Ezme is unique and delicious. Definitely order the Muhammara and the Shepherd's Salad.
We had never been to a restaurant billed as Turkish/Mediteranean before so we were excited to try it during DC restaurant week. It was a great experience. The servers were friendly and explained what the dishes were. The tasting menu (and special for restaurant week) has 11 dishes on it including dessert so each dish has exactly one tasting portion per person at the table. This was a great way to sample the various dishes. One strange thing was the wine list only listed prices for HALF a bottle so be careful or you will have a VERY BIG SURPRISE when your bill comes. Fortunately, our server pointed that out to us and we made adjustments accordingly (the Turkish wine is very good). Would go again if in DC and order the dishes we enjoyed the most. The tasting menu left us pleasantly full but not stuffed
THERE DURING RESTAURANT WEEK . FOOD WAS GOOD BUT NOT GREAT. WAITRESS VERY GOOD EVEN THOUGH SHE WAS BUSY. WINES POOR AND OVERPRICED. THE DECOR IS WORN, CHAIRS WERE RIPPED, WINE GLASSES DIRTY. THIS IS OK FOR NEIGHBORHOOD DINING BUT NOTHING SPECIAL AND THE PRICES ARE NO BARGAIN, THERE IS BETTER MEDITERRANEAN FOOD IN DUPONT AREA.
Turkish tasting menu was excellent; accompanying wine selections very nice; service prompt, knowledgeable and amiable; valet parking efficient. Atmosphere casual, with tables somewhat close together -- good for friends' get-together, probably not ideal for business discussions.
Every one of the dishes we ordered was carefully prepared delicious. We are vegetarians so we appreciated dishes that were healthy and very tasty. The service was excellent, very attentive but not hovering or pushy. Ambience was very pleasant. Good selection of affordable wines, including an excellent Turkish wine. Would definitely return and recommend it to friends.
Had a lovely meal and evening. Met with out-of-town friends and we ended up being there for two hours. While the restaurant was busy, there were always a few empty tables and the staff did not try to push us out. The food was delicious and their wine recommendation was great.
WIll go back!
Amazing meal. Amazing service. Incredible value.
Shrimp stew was out of this world. Rack of lamb was top notch. Zucchini pancakes are beautiful and delicious. Filo dough dessert did not disappoint. Turkish coffee capped of the meal.
Hospitality was something to behold.
A DC treasure.
We celebrated a birthday here a few days ago. The staff are attentive, and worked with us around dietary preferences. The menu choices are varied and nicely presented. It hadn't been clear that many if not all of the non-appetizer options were small plates until the server explained this; I hadn't planned on spending as much as e did but was happy to be flexible given the occasion.
My friend had the lentil soup and a large salad, bot of which were delicious. Lots of first-rate bread arrived along with olive oil and vinegar, which my gluten friendly buddy polished off during the course of the meal.
We were encouraged to order 2-3 small plates, but I'm glad I only ordered one. The first was grilled lamb ad figs, and it was heavenly-perfectly cooked, juicy and the grilled figs made quite a mouth party. There was a generous pour of Prosceco. But the chicken patties plus my side of potatoes proved to be way too much food, and the patties were like rocks.
Unless you're starving, start slow. For some reason my friend was served his soup and salad right away, while my dinner of course took a bit longer, so we ate together separately.
The ambience is warm, the staff are suer and almost of al the food was perfect-I'm planing on returning the next time I'm in DC.
We really enjoyed our meal. Our server was very pleasant and explained the different dishes to us when asked. She made good suggestions re. the meal as we were not familiar with the turkish food served. The quantity of food was very generous and it was tasty.I would definitly recommend it and go back when I am in D.C. again.
Ezme is a very good local neighborhood restaurant with authentic Turkish food. The ambience is a bit compromised by worn furniture so I would not recommend this for an upscale dining experience. The staff was friendly and prompt, however, when I asked for an individual dessert they placed it center table for sharing anyway. I would return but I would temper my recommendation to others based on Ezme's tattered appearance.
This was our first time in a Turkish restaurant and they were extremely helpful and attentive. Everything we tried was wonderful and the revive was excellent. This was our first stop on our vacation and it was a fabulous start! I would definitely recommend this spot for a reasonably priced delicious meal. The size of the servings was great!
Great turkish food but prepare to spend if you want to leave full because the portions are TINY. Yes it's mostly tapas, so just beware. The food was delightful, the staff was friendly and there was nice ambience but the wine was pretty bad and overpriced. Would definitely go again though.
Nice restaurant, overall good--not amazing--but good and solid. High marks for a quiet intimate and friendly restaurant in Dupont. Will definitely return as it was such a pleasant evening of good food in a place where we could take our time, drink good wine, and hear each other talk
