About Ezme

The story of this intimate Turkish tapas and wine bar began ten years ago when the Bolukbasi brothers opened Mezè in Adams Morgan. Shortly after its opening Mezè became a neighborhood favorite as a spot for authentic Turkish cuisine and lively entrainment. Mezè’s success and loyal customers inspired the Bolukbasi brothers to open a new venture in the Capital city.

The answer was not too far from Mezè in Dupont Circle. Dupont has always been an area focused on food, friendly atmosphere and healthier living. At Ezmè, our customers will taste this combined experience one bite at a time.

Had a lovely meal and evening. Met with out-of-town friends and we ended up being there for two hours. While the restaurant was busy, there were always a few empty tables and the staff did not try to push us out. The food was delicious and their wine recommendation was great.
WIll go back!

Amazing meal. Amazing service. Incredible value.

Shrimp stew was out of this world. Rack of lamb was top notch. Zucchini pancakes are beautiful and delicious. Filo dough dessert did not disappoint. Turkish coffee capped of the meal.

Hospitality was something to behold.

A DC treasure.

We celebrated a birthday here a few days ago. The staff are attentive, and worked with us around dietary preferences. The menu choices are varied and nicely presented. It hadn't been clear that many if not all of the non-appetizer options were small plates until the server explained this; I hadn't planned on spending as much as e did but was happy to be flexible given the occasion.
My friend had the lentil soup and a large salad, bot of which were delicious. Lots of first-rate bread arrived along with olive oil and vinegar, which my gluten friendly buddy polished off during the course of the meal.
We were encouraged to order 2-3 small plates, but I'm glad I only ordered one. The first was grilled lamb ad figs, and it was heavenly-perfectly cooked, juicy and the grilled figs made quite a mouth party. There was a generous pour of Prosceco. But the chicken patties plus my side of potatoes proved to be way too much food, and the patties were like rocks.
Unless you're starving, start slow. For some reason my friend was served his soup and salad right away, while my dinner of course took a bit longer, so we ate together separately.
The ambience is warm, the staff are suer and almost of al the food was perfect-I'm planing on returning the next time I'm in DC.

Didn’t know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. After living in Northern Germany I’ve been missing good Turkish food and Ezmè didn’t disappoint! Highly recommend their tasting menu. Great food and you’ll leave very full!

Very good food and even tho it was extremely crowded, service was acceptable. More attention paid to larger groups than to the “couples” tables.

We really enjoyed our meal. Our server was very pleasant and explained the different dishes to us when asked. She made good suggestions re. the meal as we were not familiar with the turkish food served. The quantity of food was very generous and it was tasty.I would definitly recommend it and go back when I am in D.C. again.

Ezme is a very good local neighborhood restaurant with authentic Turkish food. The ambience is a bit compromised by worn furniture so I would not recommend this for an upscale dining experience. The staff was friendly and prompt, however, when I asked for an individual dessert they placed it center table for sharing anyway. I would return but I would temper my recommendation to others based on Ezme's tattered appearance.

This is probably the best Turkish restaurant out there! Great selections from the Middle East which include the regular kebabs but also amazing stews and favorites like the "Keradis Guvec"!

The location is also prime in the middle of DuPont circle!

Lamb kebab dish was quite good, salmon was dry, most of the other dishes were average. They served normal baguettes instead of pita which would have been more authentic.

This was our first time in a Turkish restaurant and they were extremely helpful and attentive. Everything we tried was wonderful and the revive was excellent. This was our first stop on our vacation and it was a fabulous start! I would definitely recommend this spot for a reasonably priced delicious meal. The size of the servings was great!

Great turkish food but prepare to spend if you want to leave full because the portions are TINY. Yes it's mostly tapas, so just beware. The food was delightful, the staff was friendly and there was nice ambience but the wine was pretty bad and overpriced. Would definitely go again though.

Very nice people and a nice quiet low key dining room. However, have of the things we ordered from the wine and food menus were not available. The wait staff tried to accommodate and make the best of it, but still it was disappointing.

Nice restaurant, overall good--not amazing--but good and solid. High marks for a quiet intimate and friendly restaurant in Dupont. Will definitely return as it was such a pleasant evening of good food in a place where we could take our time, drink good wine, and hear each other talk

This is a great restaurant. Wonderful selection of dishes and they were well prepared. I will return here regularly. The only and tiny "issue" I had was that they forgot to bring my dessert (sorbet scoop). I could have reminded the wait staff, and no doubt gotten it immediately, but I didn't really need to have it, so I let it go....except for this comment. I am confident that this was not at all characteristic.

The Cacik cold yogurt soup with cucumber, dill and garlic was excellent, and the smoked salmon on bruschetta with feta cheese and ezme and basil sauce was superb. Deserts were tasty, the Turkish beer surprisingly (to me) good, and the entire experience very satisfying.

I had been to this restaurant a few years and enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. However, my latest visit was very disappointing. The food quality was really poor, and extremely over priced for the food that was served. The bar lacked my brands and over-priced.

I DO NOT recommend this to others.

This restaurant gets an 'overall good' from me because the food was very good. The service was attentive, but lacking; the waitron was inexperienced but charming, knew nothing of the lousy wine selection and (sorry) didn't know what a gin and tonic was. Sigh... And the person who actually dropped the food off at the table quickly spoke each dish's name (in Turkish), but didn't stick around long enough to help us understand who got what. A bit annoying. Thank goodness the food was quite good, with the salads being very fresh with interesting dressings, the lamb kebab with plum super tender and flavorful. Desserts (which we seldom order) were good, too. Food portions decent for the pricing - a good value.

Really excellent. Very comfortable. Not too loud. There were four of us with one vegetarian. We all had the eleven course tasting menu and they were very accommodating about substituting a vegetarian item for one person during the meat courses. Nice Turkish wine list. The food was delicious. I will go back next time I'm in DC.
