Great, buzzing brunch spot in the West Village. Loved the side order of 1 pancake.
What a delightful surprise. We saw why the only reservations available for our night were at 5:30, 5:45 and 10 pm. Many others have discovered this gem before we have!
My husband, who's on a strict keto diet, found plenty of keto diet-friendly options to choose from. In the end, we shared the Mediterranean salad, which had deliciously flavored croutons made with chick pea flour and feta cheese; and the Lamb Three Ways dish, which offered plenty of components to share. The chick pea flour fries were heavenly, as was a leek puff that was to die for. The lamb itself, generously offered and prepared three ways, included two good-sized lamb chops; a generous helping of shaved lamb; and Merguez lamb sausage--all, cooked perfectly and complemented by an incredibly tasty Pinot Noir sauce. The ratatouille was some of the best I've had anywhere.
Oh, and the service was topnotch--attentive but not clingy. Our server was also solicitous of an exotic allergy we needed to attend to.
Although there are plenty of wonderful offerings in the West Village, I'm sure this is a place we'll return to.
Food was fantastic! Service was excellent. Fun atmosphere. Will definitely go back. Highly recommend it!
Pretty significant lack of service with the front of the house.
DELICIOUS food. Nice atmosphere, although on a warm day expect to wait (we had a 1pm reservation and didn't sit until 1:20p). The tables outside are a bit slow to leave as guests sip their wine and enjoy the scene. Great service, but a little overpriced (my salad was $18 without protein, and to add shrimp was another $12!). That said, definitely a neighborhood gem and worth it!
Great West Village neighborhood gem.
Beautiful spring night, outdoor tables, and open doors made for an enjoyable dinner.
Food was excellent. We had the scallops, cauliflower soup and goat cheese salad. All our entrees and desserts we tasty, hot and lovely presentation. Highly recommend- very busy so be sure to make a reservation.
The portions were extremely small for brunch - left hungry.
What a disappointment. What used to be a favorite place has really fallen from grace. Our waitress could not have been less present - we watched her hang out by the bathrooms most of the time we were there. We were seated for over 10 minutes before anyone came to our table. After we finally tracked her down for the check, she never returned. The host finally took our card to run it but we had to ask him to bring it back so we could sign and leave. When someone finally brought us our check back, staff started resetting our table for the next party while we tried to sign the receipt. They also charged us three times and when contacted, they didn't even apologize, simply said, oh that happens the extra charges will fall off your card in a few days.
Adorable restaurant and gracious staff. We were a half hour late for our reservation (train delay) but they understood and seated us almost immediately. The brunch was delicious and overall service wonderful. I will be back again soon!!
Went on a Saturday night and it was extremely busy but the host, barman and our waitress were all very polite and courteous. We tried to be seated 15 mins earlier than our reservation but that was not possible due to how busy it was. Was very difficult to even stand by the bar but in the end we were not there for long. The food was delicious and the music was good and i would definitely go back but perhaps not on a Saturday night!
Food was excellent and reasonably priced. Service was excellent. I would go back in a heartbeat.
This used to be one of my favorite spots but my last visit will be my last visit. Service, food and overall experience have gone down hill.
I booked a resi for 545pm as i was connecting with friends right after work on a friday night. There was literally no ther patrons in the restaurant at this time, except a much older couple. Regardless, upon arrival the host hurridly barked “can i belp you?”, no pleasantries no thanks for joining us. i brushed it off gave my name and resi time, and without saying a word he said “are you all here?” which btw the resi was for 3 people and we walked in together so clearly not paying attention. anyway i confirmed and he just said “follow me”, and with no other words pointed to our table and left.
I had a $100 coupon from my sister for my birthday (some months prior) so i presented it to the waitress as we placed our drink orders and a few apps to start. Our food arrived before our drinks (weird) and it was ok. Mains arrived also just ok. The food used to be excellent, so not sure whats happened but they seem to have dropped standards in either quality, flavor or both.
During dinner service however, they turned on the ceiling fans. It was 60 degrees outside and rainy, the fans made it super cold. when asked toturn the fans down or off - nothing happened. so literally in addition to it being freezing , our food was cold. Lastly when the check arrived, the GC i provided at the atart of service was not applied.
Frankly, with so many better quality and service options within one block of Extra Virgin I was disappointed all around.
A terrific venue to meet up with friends (or a date). Our entrees were nice sized portions and all very good. Mussels, Burgers...Pasta....The Desserts were fabulous. Reasonably priced. Nice atmosphere. Outdoor dining also available. Wine selection was very nice too.
The quality of the food on Saturday night was outstanding, both in presentation and quality.
Rapidly seated close to reservation time, and great wine at reasonable price. Will definitely return on next visit to New York. I travel globally regular and this was the best meal of the year...anywhere for the money. Andrew
Love this place but it is so loud. It’s hard to have a convo.
Would def go back
Looks like good brunch place, too
Food is consistently good - service hit or miss. Always good music and ambiance
Egg benedict was outstanding, and I was very grateful that I cloud change bacon to salmon. I like the athmosphere, only the music was pit too loud for me to conversation properly.
Ottimo brunch in tipica atmosfera giovanile americana.
Consiglio sia per la buona scelta di cibo, per il contesto del locale, che per la posizione.
Food has fallen off big time
Good food, but super tight space so not very comfortable at the table. Bloody Mary was average.
Loved this place. Great food and service.
the food was delicious -- we ordered three different entrees and all were excellent --
two things -- the service was not strain and the atmosphere could be improved with a little more lighting -- the tiny candles did not illuminate enough to appreciate the presentation. And the broken calla lily in the cloudy water was a tad unpleasant.
But would I go back -- you bet! and probably request an outside table or sit in the turquoise room.
Incompetent service, excellent dishes
Food was amazing!!! Vibes were ever better. I had my birthday dinner there. Great place to get good food and celebrate.
The hostess didn’t check me in for the reservation so it got flagged as a no-show. Other than that, amazing time!! Sitting outside on a beautiful day is perfect.
We were a little late to our reservation because of the trains, and told our server we needed to leave by 7pm to catch a show. That gave us about 70 minutes to eat. Our food did not come out of the kitchen until 6:45pm. When I asked to speak to the manager, the waitress told me "its not my fault." When I spoke to the manager, he told me verbatim: "it's not my fault you were late, it's not my problem you have somewhere else to be. Here's my card, now go write us a bad review."
Well, here's my bad review. I was shocked by that response from management. I also work at a restaurant in Manhattan and would never dare to say something like that to someone who just spent $160 in the restaurant, or any amount of money for that matter. I also know that there was some problem or miscommunication because for food to take that long with a half empty restaurant is so unacceptable. I will never go back, will never have a good thing to say, and will never recommend it to anyone I know.
Good atmosphere, good food, small space.
Food was good but not something I can not get elsewhere.
Space is too small for wait staff to accomplish their duties appropriately. Reservations are oversubscribed you feel rushed to eat your meal the tables next to us turned over twice in an hour, while many people waited in the small space for their reservation.
All 4 entrees were cooked perfectly (all different fish dishes)
Martini (traditional dirty) was perfectly balanced.
Service was truly unbearable. 20 min until asked if we wanted water. And downhill from there. Upside was everyone was v nice. No rude service. Bottom line. If you are not in a rush, and don’t mind getting up to ask for a glass of wine to drink with your meal or to pay your bill, this is a fabulous meal.
Went there for brunch and the menu was pretty basic for egg dishes. Food was nothing amazing for what they charged. Service was great until the check came. They want you out so it was hard to get water refilled.
Great Atmosphere. Attentive service. Lots of options on the menu for us ... chicken and lamb entrees were delicious. Thank you ... we will be back
The place was crowded and packed - service was terrible and the manager was pushy and rushed
The host was pretentious and rude and the staff was clearly trying to rush us out of there. Even asked to clear our plates while I was eating, but we got to sit outside on a beautiful spring day and the atmosphere was so nice and despite the looks from the staff we took our time and enjoyed ourselves. The food and drinks were really good and my friend and I had a great time. I would come back -- I don't mind holding my own against some snobby staff.
The service is neglectful, but the food is good.
They have a hard time accommodating food intolerance. Everything has butter in it - odd for a place named after olive oil. The ahi tuna app was way too cold (almost frozen). The dinners were okay but not great. The drinks were good. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the ingredients. There is a general staff arrogance - when you arrive they treat you like you are lucky to be eating there.
LOVE!!!! My Favorite!
