Had the moose goulash. Very good. Didn't finish it all so took it home for lunch next day. Even better. The staff are the very best anywhere!!
Small detail - I am always looking for a good salad! But that's me
mussels were great. ribs were terrible...3 large bones on my plate with no meat on them and on top of puree sweet potato that tasted like baby food and the slaw was tasteless. the plate of food looked like something from the flintstones. service was sub par and waitress forgot most of our requests. i was disappointed.
Food was excellent service was excellent great coffee too, be back soon
We found this restaurant to be absolutely fantastic. From the service to the food, everything was perfect.
We found a nugget of beautiful pulled pork in the pulled pork poutine, service great as always!
Valet parking was convenient and inexpensive. The fish tacos and the blueberry dessert were delicious. Myself and two lady friends enjoyed our lunch in a subdued and pleasing dining room. We will be back.
Friendly staff. Good menu selections for brunch. Appreciate local sourcing. Music good and not too loud to limit table conversation. Overall very pleasant dining and good value!
Met my 2 sisters for lunch. Valet parking was so convenient. Lunch was delish including the dessert. Lovely window seating and quiet atmosphere. Would go there again!
The service was wonderful! The selection was amazing! I recommend the basil mojito !
Thanks to the manager Martha for helping with everything!
Great rock n' roll concept with a wonderful sound system but hit and miss on the food and a touch pricey. I got the special Udon dish and it was an artlessly prepared mishmash of uncoordinated (albeit tasty) bits! SO got the Cod and it arrived cold and soggy but they, without hesitation, took it off the bill. It took 45 minutes or so to get our food as the kitchen needed to push out food for a wedding happening elsewhere in the hotel. Oh yeah, I should have been informed of the cost of the special udon dish as as it turned out to be a slightly eye-watering $39. Wait staff were pleasant enough but seemed a touch bedraggled and, at best, mechanical in their service.
All good. No complaints.
I love this restaurant - go there at least once a month. BUT the food has gone downhill. The salad is limp lettuce with a heavy sauce and granola! The pasta is tomato soup - SAD. Love the service. Love the room. Love the wine. But I wish the food would improve. It was great!!! Please get a chef or a cook. All the gorgeous pictures and chairs will not compensate for the poor food
Great convenient spot that’s located downtown st john’s.
New menu with plenty of options. The prices here are very fair, especially the small plate menu.
Service this past visit was great, even though restaurant was pretty busy
Delicious and relaxing !
Enough of a rock and roll feel to be different, yet quiet enough to have a pleasant meal. Excellent food, decent choices, pleasant overall experience.
Food was great- a little pricey perhaps for the bar menu and a couple of drinks- about $60 per person
Waitress was defensive when we asked for service, then our food was delayed and cold when it was served. Typically this restaurant is great. I attribute the experience to the particular waitress. Everyone else at the other tables (who were incidentally served very quickly) seemed quite pleased.
We were pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious and the prices were very fair, and the quantities of food was just right. Some reviews said the service was slow, but good food takes time to prepare and if a restuarant is good it tends to be busy for the staff. All in all we enjoyed ourselves and would go back again.
The food was fantastic! Loved every dish I tried.
Graet food @ decent price, beautiful spot I'll recommend this place to my friends
Complimentary birthday dessert was delicious! Our server was very friendly too
We had a great breakfast. The service was great but a little slow. Very nice restaurant. Would recommend
Filet dinner was SO salty that we could barely choke it down, everything else was mush and we only ate the meat because we paid 45$ a plate for it and were starved. Dessert was ok but the service was very blah, not attentive and unenthusiastic. I stated on our reservation that it was a specifically special occaision in hopes that we would get a “congratulations” mentioned and it was not acknowledged at all. Way over priced meal that actually tasted terrible, totally disappointed.
Fabulous lunch! Service was good and the food phenomenal! Portion size was big!
EXILE at JAG is brilliant!
The staff is superb!
The food is excellent. Good diverse menu, not pricy.
The ambiance is very unique and inviting. Great musical artwork throughout. “It’s only Rock ‘n Roll, but I like it”.
The music is wicked. Always a good listen but not overwhelming to a good conversation.
And did I mention how superb the staff is? They really are that good.....
Excellent restaurant. Awesome atmosphere. Fabulous facility and the BEST amd most attentive staff. Great food.
Had lunch at Exile with my husband and children, it was delicious. The service was great and everyone enjoyed their meals!!!
Food was very tasty, hot and good value. Soups are awesome!!
Fun environment with professional staff. Never disappointed!
I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The chicken was superbly cooked and I could not leave a morsel on the plate! The wait staff was busy as there was a large party but she did her best to be as attentive as possible. I also stayed at the Jag which is a wonderful boutique hotel! Nothing but accolades for the whole experience CS. Thank you.....coming back on Wednesday!
Excellent- all around!
Great Food, great coffee, good value, excellence service great , time had by all.
Great relaxing meal. Good service. Perfectly cooked fillet.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner, friendly waiters and lovely setting. Will definitely be back.
Wonderful atmosphere and menu . Will definitely be back again .
It’s our second time there. Great vibe, love the decor and the food is excellent. They were also very accommodating, initially I had a table for 2 book on Mother’s Day, but the day before needed a table of 4 plus a high chair and they changed it without hesitation.
Very enjoyable evening. Well laid out dining room with great ambiance. Music was excellent and at a level where you could have a quiet conversation. The seating is comfortable and servers were great with their recommendations. Wonderful night out!!
The Exile dining room is modern, comfortable and the service generally superior. However, the Exile kitchen is definitely slipping since it first opened several years ago, especially with the lunch menu where they don't even seem to try to please. We had been fairly regular customers at lunch and have repeatedly asked that the music volume be turned down to a level that did not interfere with conversation. They simply refuse and so it limits the number of times we go to Exile. Two orders of the potato-whatever-bacon soup on this visit were very poor - watery and flavoured only with a little saltiness - our complaints led to a credit on one order only and no offer to replace. We are sad to see such a great room with wonderful staff in a convenient downtown location (the JAG Hotel) hurt by an indifferent kitchen. Would it really hurt to turn down the R&B volume a little for Tuesday business lunches? Surely Tuesday isn't the new Friday....
