This is the time to Visit Everest. No waiting for reservations and doting service. The Coronavirus did not stop Chef Terry’s great team Saturday night (3/14). Such nice people. Thank you for the great service and of course impeccable food.
We are big on Chicago tasting menus and lately we keep coming back to Everest; BECAUSE IT TASTES GREAT. So many other tasting menus seem to go for the outlandish and forget it also needs to TASTE GREAT. Everest challenges us to be open to different foods (the first cauliflower I have ever loved) but still makes us smile with each bite. Add the great food with neat wine parings and a fun sommelier and you have a pretty special night.

We were in Chicago for a short trip and love elegant French dining. However this particular restaurant was not. The food was good but just not the dining experience we were hoping for. The service was outstanding and the staff was knowledgeable and courteous. The dishes were less traditional French than we were expecting. Risotto comes to mind. The ambiance was also lacking. The restaurant is on the top floor of an office building and looks like it may have once been a University Club. Overall it was nice but would not make my list for a return trip.
Food was amazing. Son was wonderful. Service was not what I would have expected for a $400 meal and a $400 bottle of wine.

Everything would be just perfect, if waiter would warn us that not all food on menu included in prepaid dinner. Waiter Lisa told us to choose from menu what do we want for starter , main course and desert, I asked her what are the most popular items and what can she recommend. She recommended few things and I did not even examined menu, relying on her. ( she did not mention that these items will be extra besides that you are paying hundreds of dollars for prepaid dinner. Even tea menu doesnt have a price. When we got bill I was surprised to see 60+$ more then I expected. I ask waiter ( different guy) why no one warned us that these items were extra, even desert and starters, he said I am sorry and that was it. He told me he would send us Lisa, but she never came back. I did not even brought up that we been charged for champagne few dollars more, then was on menu. Its not just about money, its the feeling that you been fooled. Otherwise it was a perfect place to celebrate our anniversary. I did not start complain there cause I did not want to ruin my day, but those aftertaste of unpleasant feeling still hunting me.

Pricey but WELL worth it! Can definitely see how he earned his Michelin rating. Most definitely the BEST MEAL OF MY LIFE to date. Will be hard to come close to for a while.
The food was good and the wine pairings worked, but for a one star restaurant I was expecting a higher level of service (more discrete). The staff were very busy and at times it felt like we were in a café rather than a high end restaurant. A meal for two including tip was $900 - you get my point. Maybe the restaurant should not try and turn the tables so quickly. At this level of dining in Chicago there are other options and so I would not hurry back
great setting,food and timing perfect.people in my party were from small town ,never had such food spectacular..they loved everything....
As we noted to the manager on our way out, we were a bit disappointed with the level of service given the expense of our dinner.
Waitstaff appeared disinterested, disorganized and inexperience in service to us. Delays To offering pre dinner cocktail. No review of pricing fixe menu not even offered if we wanted wainwright’s pairing so didn’t get. Beef Wellington was a bit too rare for my spouse so asked for it to be a bit more medium came back minimally more cooked but not heated up and soggy. No offer for after dinner beverage coffee or after dinner drink just the check.
Although window view requested (and a couple two tops by window open we were seated in front of waitstaff service area where multiple staff entered orders pulled replacement silverware and servers brought large trays for tables constantly bumping into my spouse’s chair and back.
Appreciate a busy evening but far from the elegant experience we’ve had in prior visits.
Quite disappointed left us with a sense that we will not return..,too bad for what previously had been a special dining event.
Fantastic special Valentine’s Day menu was exactly the experience my girlfriend and I had hoped for. Service was outstanding.
we didn’t read the fine print and see that their “Valentines Day” menu was also being served on Saturday. $195 a person - a higher price than their regular tasting menu and with fewer courses and far less interesting. All the Valentines cliches were on the menu including beef wellington and chocolate soufflé served haphazardly in a banquet style. There were only six glasses of wine available by the glass - 3 red and 3 white - of course you could order any bottle you wanted. My $26 glass of bordeaux was delivered slightly warm. After over $500 for two with tax and tip, i felt taken.

We were seated in the small back room. The ambiance is not great. Disappointed. The food is still good.
In light of the fact that we needed to prepay for our food [and gratuity] a week before we dined, we decided to NOT order any additional items in terms of wine or drinks. If we had been treated as a loyal [Lettuce] customer and trusted to honor our reservation and pay our bill after dining, as is customary for me, we would have spent another 40% on extras. This is the restaurant's loss. The clientele was extremely casual dressed, (I am talking hiking boots, yoga pants and gym shoes casual..certainly not what I have experienced when dining at Everest in the past. We arrived on time and our prepaid table for 4 was not ready. We were seated at a table for 6 and it was very difficult talking to out guests as we were all seated at an uncomfortable distance from each other..and our table was directly next to the podium and feet and shoes of every guest that arrived all night through the adjacent elevated host entry desk next to our sunken dining room location..and on the other side of our table was the eternally trafficked kitchen door..complete with chair contact every time a server walked by. The food was ok but not up to the standards I would expect from this establishment. Mass produced pre fix menu was a disappointment. Sad to say, I think Everest has had their best days behind them. I will not be returning or recommending to friends/family.
Our experience was just as we had hoped. We were celebrating a birthday and Valentine’s Day. Everest and their staff made everything feel special. We were cared for from the beginning of our experience when we had to call to communicate being late, to the attendants at the garage and coat check, to being seated and served, all exceeded our expectations! Thanks for being a part of our special night!

Each dish was a masterpiece. Pricey but so worth it.
It was very easy to find the restaurant in the parking it was great that’s a validate for parking once arriving upstairs to the restaurant we waited maybe 6 to 7 minutes before anyone came to Us and was where seated it was like they were just too busy for their own good everybody was just running around rambunctiously but it was Overall a good expensive experience
We had the vegetarian tasting menu with wine pairings and it was one of the most incredible meals we have ever had. Thank you to all of the staff for a wonderful dining experience!
This was truly an epic dining experience. The food was very high end and so flavorful, fine gourmet dining. The sommelier was very helpful in pointing us to a fine chardonnay. The wait staff was very helpful and attentive without being intrusive. Wonderful dinner.

Always impeccable! A classic Elegant Chicago Resturant with great service , amazing food, incredible wine list and a great view . What’s not to love .
This is the best restaurant I have ever been to, and I have been to many of "Chicago's Best." The food and dishes were crafted with the utmost creativity and flavor, and the service was top notch. My only gripe (aside from not being able to get window seating) is that this place is crazy expensive. Despite this, the price was well worth the overall experience, and that's not easy to achieve. An extra accolade goes to the fact that they also had a vegetarian prix fixe menu, which was delicious. Would recommend for any date/anniversary/special occasion.
Literally one of the most disappointing meals in my life. Admittedly, expectations were high, but every single one of the tasting menu items were either bland or too sweet with the exception of the grapefruit gelate.
The wine pairing was even worse. Cheap Alsace (mostly) wines that were too sweet.
I would never recommend this place nor return. And it was outrageously expensive relative to other restaurants with much better food.
There is no finer restaurant in Chicago, a superb classic French restaurant
Both the services and meal were delicious. We went for a special occasion and were treated wonderfully. Our view out to the city was lovely but not distracting. Our sommelier selected a lovely bottle of wine that was perfectly paired with two very distinct meals. The desserts were tasty and not overwhelmingly sweet.
Services are outstanding. Appetizers are very good. Main course and dessert are disappointing. I would recommend to friends because of service alone.
1 year anniversary. When I made the reservations I specifically told reservations it was my 1 year and I would not make a reservation unless I had a window seat. They gave me the latest seating and said it was no problem. When I showed up it was a different story. I received a table away from the windows. To make things worse I got called a girl twice by staff. I’m 6 ft tall with a beard and I was wearing a suit. Ridiculous.
I had a gift certificate and am a foodie and was absolutely mesmerized. Wonderful experience!
The foie gras was incredible, but the service was terrible. We sat at our table for at least 15 minutes before we were even given a menu/asked for a drink menu. The price was way too high for the service and food we were given.
Had delicious food with conscientious waiters who went out of their way to make sure our visit was perfect. View is great too!
I had 1 of my month-long birthday celebrations here this past Friday, January 17th! My friend and I had a GREAT meal and an overall GREAT experience, that cold, blizzardy night! It was his first time dining at Everest; it was my 4th or 5th time, since I started dining here in 1996! We both had the 7-course dinner with wine pairings! We also had an awesome window table with a great view of the city! Both the wait staff and sommelier’s service performances were spot-on the whole night!! We would definitely come back again!!
Everest is quite simply, show stopping. From the food, to the service and the ambiance. The Filet of Sole, Foie Gras and New York Steak were all amazing. Hot Lobster starter with the butter sauce was a star. Unbelievable dish. A must have experience in Chicago dining.
Exceptional dining experience at an iconic and classic French venue with cuisine executed by the legendary Alsatian Chef, Jean Joho including spectacular views and a very deep wine and spirits selection.
Outstanding dinner and service yet again at Everest. Chef Jean Joho never disappoints. Some of our favorite dishes right now are the risotto with shaved truffle, the farm fresh shirred egg and the raw oysters with the champagne-cucumber flourette. Also, Everest has an outstanding Sommelier to help you choose just the perfect wine pairing. Highly recommend.
Second time here, everything is amazing! Foie gras is my favorite!
Impeccable experience start to finish. Personalized service beginning with the sommelier and ending through dessert/coffee. Not cheap but felt like I got full value
