My girlfriend and I wanted to have dinner at Evelyn’s before New Years celebrations. I called to confirm the Restaurant hours for 12/31. I was told the restaurant would be open until 7 so I proceeded to make a reservation for 6pm. After trying to contact the restaurant numerous times to confirm my reservation vocally, we proceeded to head over at 5:30 to Evelyn’s only to find that it was closed as expected from our calls not being answered. This is unacceptable, and I don’t understand why whomever answered the phone said they would be open.

They were closed when we arrived for our 11am reservation. I brought 2 clients and was embarrassed. Our lunch meeting was delayed by an hour. Horrible Experience.

The live band was great, the atmosphere was beautiful. Great selection of food. I will definitely be back if I am ever in town again.

Surprisingly, a very nice outdoor backyard space shielded from the hectic street near all the Rutgers buildings an Easton Ave. The food was fresh and very good as we tried a bit of everything on the menu. But, for me the kicker was there was plenty of draft and craft beer to choose from!

VERY STRANGE EXPERIENCE, CHEF DIDNT SHOW UP FOR WORK, BARTENDER FILLING IN, HAD TO LEAVE AT THE BARTENDERS SUGGESTION. NO HELP FROM MANAGEMENT. PLACE HAS GONE DOWN HILL.

Good food, terrible service. They are horribly understaffed. I always ate at the bar in the past and would recommend doing that. Takes a half hour to get a cocktail, then food and apps come out at the same time.

It was a corny place. Chicken and lamb was overcooked and dry as hell. I would never go back to this place. Our meal and 4 drinks for 2 people came to $120. Money straight in the trash. I would not recommend this place.
