Went in yesterday with my friend, where we came across a member of staff, this staff member was really rude, not impressed. So I said I booked in a reservation for 2 and then she gives me a blank awkward stare and then proceeds to check and then with another awkward stare saying .. name???… , first of all that’s rude, you would expect them to say I’m sorry can I take your name, or can I have your name darling or sweet. Then we sat down and she took our order, still being awkward, it’s them awkward stares making you feel like your dumb, like I’ve done something wrong. Lastly, went to pay and she was talking to another staff member who was a male, anyways she had the receipt on a little plate and she turns her face towards mine with the same awkward blank stare and I said can I pay and she’s like what, I said can I pay and she then looks down the plate, like again making me feel dumb, how was I meant to know that she had the reciept there. Both me and my friend felt the same, we wont be returning. Do better!!!

The host we had did not seem happy at all that we'd made a big group booking, she came off as quite rude and rushed us to order food. It took 40 minutes just to get coffees for the table and the food we ordered we had to ask a couple of times how long it would be. And once we did receive our food, it was awful quality, the eggs where rubbery and hard, the salmon was also hard as if it had been sat out for awhile. We had heard really good reviews about this place so very disappointed in what we got out of it. Won't be back again.

Great food and wine with excellent service and a brilliant atmosphere. Kayane was very knowledgeable and friendly, she suggested various dishes for us to try all of which were full of flavour and very moreish. We would definitely recommend A+

Bizarre menu that the poor staff had to explain. Small plates that are supposed to be shared but then we were told some were too small to share and some were huge. The menu said ‘Tuna’ but we had to be told it was raw tuna. It was actually delicious but why can’t the description just be on the menu? The menu said ‘Ceasar’ but the staff wanted to point out that it was a salad and would go well with the chicken dishes. Good service and great place, just need to rewrite the menu and save the staff an extra job!

I came to Evelyn's after afew years to meet up with my Uni friends, who came from far. I chose the 'Moroccan' lamb roast dinner which I thought would be full of flavours. It was quite the opposite, very bland and served with what tasted like basic gravy from a box. The noise in the restaurant was very loud, that we could not even catch up properly. Also they used to do these amazing buttermilk pancakes but the desserts menu was very limited and basic. So we opted to leave and go elsewhere for dessert. Won't be rushing to return back to be honest.
