Great experience. Would recommend taking friends from out of town. Something different and foos was good.
This was such an amazing place and very unique! The cocktails and food were great. The detective theme was really well done and fun.
Overall, this was a great experience. I think it's a good idea to have a "case" ready to discuss with the detective.
Loved it - great atmosphere and the detective was on amazing form!
We had a great time at Evan & Peel on Saturday night. The detective was hilarious and the cocktails were delicious!
First of, the venue no longer serves sit down meals which they did when I came a few years back. Their food is primarily bar food to accompany the drinks although that being said their wings and ribs were fantastic. The ambiance was great and the sound levels allowed talking to occur.
Great place, with amazing food and drinks! Worth it for the entry alone :)
I had a really great night here. It was my first time visiting so I wasn't entirely sure how the detective part worked but the guy who spoke to us about our case was pretty friendly and didn't grill us too hard about the details of our fake story! The cocktails were delicious and the food was really good - they're all finger foods though so don't expect to come here for dinner. The prices were reasonable but the service was hit & miss. One guy was really helpful with drinks recommendations but another was clearly uninterested and in a rush to get away from our table and collect other orders. The ambiance was pretty nice - the speakeasy vibe was good and the tables weren't too crowded - I did get a bit confused when the background music switched between jazzy/band stuff and more modern music but it wasn't so loud that you couldn't have a conversation. Overall I would visit again and definitely recommend this bar - at least for a single visit.
I was expecting more from this bar. As a secret bar it was great but I was expecting from reviews to be more interactive so when we had our drinks we would have an activity to do.
The place is nice and being met by the detective at the beginning is cool but other than that it was a normal bar
From the moment we arrived outside this was Avery different experience. The detective considering our case was fantastic, he’d read the note we’d sent and discussed it in detail with us. It was our last speakeasy of the night (we’d visited 4 in total) and by far the most fun entrance. Inside was fantastically themed, ok the detective role play stopped but hey I wanted a cocktail not a drama class! The cocktail menu is fab, the drinks amazing! Staff great and although we only ate olives the food I could smell as taken past me smelt good! Definitely one to return to and bring friends too.
Your detective was excellent and located Stella in the Bahama's
Room a little too dark and a shame we arrived with two other parties outside but great fun.
Had to wait outside for half an hour without any apology or clue what was going on. Then “the detective” was so rude to a woman after us which made us feel very uncomfortable as he called her names. The whole thing was awkward and rushed. Could be so much better!
E&P was a lot fun. It's better if you have case. Ours was "The Case of the Missing Sock in the Dryer". Silly fun. Fun cocktails for $, we had the buffalo wings, mac n cheese and hot apple pie w/ ice cream. Delicious! Something different from the regular pub. The Detective found that the wicked dryer fairies were asking the lock! Case solved!
One of my favorite places in london. Can’t beat the people atmosphere or cocktails.
We arrived and a kind inspector asked a few funny questions. We took a pictures in a great old office. Once we finished we went to the bar. Atmosphere was good but we didn’t feel comfortable as the waitress were pushing us all the time to order more drinks and food. I hadn’t even finished my cocktails and the waitress wanted to take my glass.... it was really annoying as all the waitress were looking our table all the time. In summary: atmosphere was good but waitress were stressed and annoying so we left the pub after 45min-1 hour because we didn’t feel comfortable.
Awesome place, very authentic with great service and attention to detail. So pleased we found it, great fun and very novel without spending over the odds. Would highly recommend
Absolutely loved the place had such fun. Was easy to find with Google maps cocktails were brillant. Loved the theme wasn't expected at all.
If we go back to London we come back. We get a pleasant moment and aprreciate a lot the cocktails and suggestion. Thank you for all.
Excellent selection of cocktails that are well balanced and innovative. So many places think a cocktail needs to be essentially an alcopop, full of sugar - E&P offer drinks for a more mature palate and really gets the best out of the ingredients they use. Snacks are good value with decent sized portions.
Well its unique and an expirecne that makes the slightly pricey drinks worth it... there is something about going into a small room have some fun with the detective and then after that being let in to a bar that you wouldnt Jave geussed was there.
Great fun, would definetly reccomend. Great atmosphere.
Loved this place. I won’t give away any secrets but be prepared to get a little out of your comfort zone when you arrive.
The initial entry was exciting. Well hidden. The venue was very interesting and well setup. The staff were very attentive. Overall brilliant experience. Although we got a bit carried away on the drinks but that’s because the cocktails are amazing.
This restraunt has a unique concept and
Its really fun. The food is very tasty, and I hope more menu to be arranged.
The staff is very friendly. Please keep smiling and I am lookinq forward to seeing
Amazing drinks and lovely environment
Drinks were great and we loved the atmosphere. Our waitress was also great but there was no one else serving so we always had to flag her down for things. I thought the food was overpriced for what it was, and the Mac and cheese is awful if you don’t like bleu cheese.
This place was so much fun! A little hard to find at first, but we eventually got our meeting with the detective in no time...
Love the whole experience from the investigation at the door to the brilliant cocktails (worth the prices) and the 50s ambience is fab. Food is mostly bar snacks so would be nice to have more of a full menu, but my second time visiting and still loved it and would recommend!
A hidden gem with fab cocktails, such a fun vibe and great staff!
Great as usual, the atmosphere is intimate and classy.
Drinks are pricey but you pay for the atmosphere and service.
Only negative is they removed the grilled aubergine from the menu!
Lived up to its good reviews. Very unusual place. Exciting entrance through the bookcase!
Food was very tasty and the staff helpful. Easy to order more if you needed it. Shame we didn't get to try the fried apple pie and ice cream (chef had problems with the pastry!) but we were offered a free glass of prosceco to make up for it. A very enjoyable different night.
I thought this would include solving a mystery. Based on the emails I received I thought we would be assigned a case but when the “detective” asked what case we were there to solve and we weren’t sure he just led us into the bar. The bar was nice and the ambience was nice, it just wasn’t what we expected. I would recommend it as a bar for drinks (even though they aren’t cheap they were good).
It’s a great cosy bar, with some really good cocktails and ambience. Don’t go for the food, it’s terrible.
The cocktails were nice but we thought we were entering an detective experience! This was literally just an expensive bar
The atmosphere was great, authentic and interesting. The table we had was very small, not so comfortable but overall a nice experience. The menu is not varied but for us was not a problem, the ribs had an excellent taste. I would recommend this to my friends.
Nice few cocktails for a date night. Cool theme and atmosphere 👌🏻
The concept and atmosphere is exceptional but the drinks and food are £2 more expensive than they need to be. The cocktails were nice but the food menu is pretty basic. Don't go expecting fine dining but do go for a unique experience and a couple of drinks.
I visit speak easy's when ever I travel with my friends and this is a definite must when I'm in London it was my first time in London and my first time at Evans & Peel. My only complaint was the music was a little loud where I was sitting and that's because I was right underneath a speaker but other than that I plan on going back next time I visit London.
Very well done "secret" bar in Kensington. The craft cocktails were excellent. We had just a few bar snack food items (buffalo cauliflower and buffalo wings) and they were very good also.
Went on Saturday night as we booked , a dozen people waiting outside the door ( who didn’t have a booking) the reception guy was not in a good mood , reception seemed too robotic and standard ( nothing special ) didn’t go with the whole speakeasy role play , seated at a table for 2 , they have a nice drinks menu , food was fair to below average , ordered fries but didn’t arrive for 40 min and then kitchen closed , they apologized but when it did the dish tasted like they were made a day ago , too oily. Ordered beer baron it was good and another drink as well, noticed a lot of the online reviews mentioned drink recommendations that are no longer on the menu. Overall good experience might come back with a larger group , the booth look like fun for a larger party
