The waiter was so rude and condescending that we left the restaurant without having our meal. His attitude and sheer unprofessionalism needs to be addressed or Evangeline will start losing more business than just ours.
Manger and server lied in my face and then tell me he believe his sever over paying customer with a party of 14 who has recordings of the lies and witness poor service and would never go back again ....didn’t even try to accommodate us and it was my birthday
Our group of 4 had a lovely dinner at Evangline's last week. We enjoyed our meal in the charming courtyard and especially loved our dessert! Our server was friendly and took great care of us. We will be back!
One of those fantastic little places to eat that people walk by every day and then miss out on some of the best southern and Cajun food the south has to offer. We love the quiet, little courtyard in the back.
We have been coming here for years and can truly say that the waite staff are some of the most professional and fun people we have had the pleasure to enjoy our meals with.
The food was very good and the servers were very attentive. We sat in the courtyard on a sunny morning and the umbrellas provided good shade.
Seated on the patio next to a mice house. Literally a mouse was playing by my feet. They did move us inside but the mood was definitely dampened.
Enjoyed the courtyard! Food was good. Staff was friendly.
We chose to sit on the patio, where the heaters were barely enough to keep us from shivering. Granted it was not the warmest weekend and that is the location we chose to sit at, additional/higher-powered heat lamps would have been appreciated. The food and drinks were so delicious and the staff was very friendly.
Food was great! Loved the courtyard and our server Arti was fabulous 👍👍
Great food! Try the bread pudding beignets; trust me! They were short-staffed the night we visited but very upfront about it and apologetic. I'm former waitstaff and don't blame them if someone is a no-show. Will definitely visit them again!
Very good seafood.
Service was great, the waiter was sweet, but the food was average. I had higher hopes for the crawfish etouffee. But how good can crawfish etouffee really be? Maybe I am expecting too much? Maybe it would be different if I grew up on this food?
The food was amazing. It was my birthday and I was so pleased.
Went for brunch. The bottomless mimosas were a steal. The food was top notch. Problem with service and slow delivery of our food but corrected on our check which was appreciated.
Wonderful courtyard for brunch and fantastic food.
Great place to have dinner in their courtyard. Staff was friendly and service was great.
We had a reservation. When we showed up, they were closed with just a paper sign saying they closed due to weather. Since reservations were available and I made one, I was unable to use OpenTable to make a reservation at another restaurant, making dinner hard to plan. A very unpleasant experience
GREAT Brunch burger with fries. Great service, will return
Incredible service, wonderful food and Devine cocktails!
Great service but the food was not great. It was ok at best.
Rhonda the manager assured our dining experience was to our standards. Great food and ambiance
Came for NYE. Food was excellent and a new place crossed off my list. We really enjoyed it and will be back!
Wonderful little spot in the middle of everything in the FQ, but just out of the way.
Christmas Eve
Decided to eat here because it was close to my cousins Airbnb. Amazing staff and great menu options. The bottomless mimosas are a must have!
The crawfish & grits was my favorite. Fried stuff was too salty for my liking. Beautiful Courtyard.
They food is absolutely amazing - the crawfish and grits is some of the best I’ve ever had! Their happy hour is also reasonable had had two signature cocktails, and do yourself a favor and order the fried pickles.
We had a delicious meal in the courtyard, and the staff were very considerate, having a table ready inside for us in case it rained, and it did.
We had a lovely evening dining on the patio. It’s was busy, and we were seated close to the main entry/exit, so it was busy. The food was excellent, and the service was very attentive and prompt. Overall a good experience
Great food great atmosphere great waiter Nick 👍
Lovely outdoor courtyard. Spectacular service. Well priced and amazing food and drinks!
Excellent food. We really enjoyed the crab cakes, andouille sausage gumbo and fried pickles were a great way to start the night. Our server was fantastic too. I had the Pasta Evangeline which was excellent too. Topped it off with a home made pecan pie. Excellent dinner!
Early dinner on Halloween as we were taking our middle school kids on a ghost tour. Restaurant was decorated for the holiday. Staff was all very friendly. Nice casual atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for. Food was great. Crawfish & grits, Jambalaya, crawfish Poorboy & Cajun burger were all hits with our crew. Not to forget the Evangeline Rum Punch.
Such a great restaurant 10 out 10. Our server was amazing (Wish I could remember his name) I cant wait to go back.
Food was great but pricey. Limited food items due to Covid quarantine.
Evangeline was a nice way to celebrate the evening, away from the hustle and bustle of Bourbon street. Our waiter was excellent and gave us great advice from us being out of town, visiting for the weekend. It was my birthday and he gave us delicious shots to finish off dinner. Cheers!
Delicious food! Fried pickles were amazing. Seafood was fresh & delicious. Our sever was the nicest and consistently coming back to check on us. Great experience!
They were graciously able to accomodate a late change from 8 to 10 people. We all enjoyed our food & beverages. David took care of us marvelously.
Everything about this place was absolutely perfect. My Wife and I visited Evangelines for Dinner and the returned first thing in the morning for their brunch. The owners were so friendly and accommodating due to Covid restrictions. The food is absolutely DELICIOUS and the service was amazing. We never had to wait for a thing and at brunch our Bottomless Mimosas were never completely empty before they were refilled all brunch long. The pricing is very fair and worth every bite of their Seleucid is menu. Me and My wife have agreed this will definitely be our new spot when visiting New Orleans and the French Quarter. We absolutely can not wait to come back and dine at Evangelines again.
I loved the Jambalaya, Cajun style, but my wife's order came out wrong and they corrected. Flavor was lacking on her catfish, but the fried alligator was good. Dessert was complimentary after the entree error which was nice. Beignet bread pudding my wife loved and I thought was good. Drinks were a little pricey, but made well. What they called a courtyard was just outdoor dining behind the restaurant, not a New Orleans courtyard. Overall, service was good, food was very good and I would probably try them another time.
