Etsu is a Japanese izakaya which focuses on local amazing produce in our dishes which are designed to be shared amongst friends. We have one of the largest Japanese whisky collections on our back bar which we recommend served over hand cut ice or try one of our sakes or Japanese tap beers. Our sashimi is the freshest around and our fave place to sit is at the dining bar. Kanpaii!!

Such a well hidden gem - service is some of the best I’ve had on the GC We sat at the bar which was ideal for a mid week catch up with a friend. Cool vibe excellent food and service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Second time dining at Etsu. Great restaurant, staff, me u and food quality. Only issue was the noise level. The seating is fairly tight and the noise level due to the wall keeps the noise level quite difficult to have table talk.

From the street, you would never guess what opens up to be a fabulous setting. Stunning food. Ordered a banquet for 3 which is a great way to experience different flavours. Excellent range of supporting Japanese drinks. Lively atmosphere with cool music.

Food of exceptional flavour and freshness. Ate almost everything off of the raw menu and it was all amazing. Yakitori and sushi was also 10/10 tasty! Wish I lived closer so I could dine here more often. An absolute MUST TRY!

Third time round and still utterly fantastic. Swift and lovely service. Food was phenomenal as well as the drinks. Love the atmosphere and generally an all round epic restaurant. Going to miss Etsu once we leave the Gold Coast but going to come back for dessert one last time.

We were holidaying from Melbourne and was recommended to come to Etsu. The ambiance and menu were exquisite, and Lachlan was wonderful. The food, cocktails, and sake were all amazing, leaving us with an unforgettable dining experience. We have no doubt that we'll be returning to Etsu soon.

The best Japanese overall experience. The food and choices were exceptional and fresh. The service staff had excellent product knowledge for both the food and wine. On a Monday night you were fully booked and the ambiance was personal and fun. We will definitely be back again!

This restaurant was recommended to me by a friend. When it comes to Japanese Food I prefer more traditional and authentic places, so this wasn't for me. It did have a trendy and groovy vibe though.

I live in Melbourne and a friend recomended this restaurant to us. Almost a secret entrance as the front looked like a boarded up shopfront, upon entering the establishment we discovered this very moody dimmly list room with a really great vibe. We sat up at the bar to eat in very comfortable chairs with plenty of bench room for our food and drinks. The food was absolutely delicious, the sashimi and oysters were so fresh and could have easily had more, as was the wagyu beef carpaccio. Worked our way through the menu and enjoed everything, great choice of beverages and all served and looked after by a charming barman, Ira.

We had the best night here! The food and service was outstanding. Tess was a wonderful waitress and made the absolute best cocktails I’ve ever had! The food was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our night and can’t wait to come back. Only downside is that the music was a little too loud to really relax, but overall really enjoyable.
