Ethos - Gallery Ratings and Reviews
I love the simply grilled fish at Ethos. It is tasty and nicely prepared. The menu offers a lot of choices. When we dined there several people celebrated birthdays. They turned the lights off and the waiters came out to lively music with dessert decorated with sparklers. This was a lovely presentation.
We went to celebrate a birthday. The food was great and plentiful. They do a super birthday celebration. When it is time for dessert, the lights go out and the music gets loud. In come the waiters with sparklers. Everyone in the restaurant is focused on the birthday person , clapping and singing. Great idea!!
I have always loved this restaurant. The food great, early in the evening it’s quiet. Until this last time, we sent our leftovers to be packed for takeaway, my wife went to the ladies room and saw one of the staff eat part of her order. When I confronted the head waiter he said “Impossible!” But apparently not when my wife told him what she had seen. He sent us home with a new order and did vaguely apologize. I consider eating, cooking and the profession of food service to be a high order endeavor. One requiring mutual respect. This was a gross violation of that compact between guest and host. I am deeply disappointed and disgusted.
This is a favorite of my friends and we crave this food-even after going to Greece! Some favorites are: all the salads (where do they find such beautiful tomatoes?)meatballs, grilled octopus and calamari, and all the fish. Still love it and can't wait to go back soon!
Top notch greek restaurant with a wide selection of small plates and entrees. Small plates are quite generous. Especially good for seafood. Octopus and stuffed grape leaves were outstanding. Atmosphere was very comfortable with a relatively young and lively crowd.
The quality of their fish is top notch, and in recent months, we have become regulars here. With that said, my wife loves this place, but I always feel a bit apprehensive dining here. It is always crowded and the tables are too close together, which makes me feel cramped, especially when waiters and busboys continuously bump into me throughout my meal.
While it is a credit to the restaurant that they are always busy, I truly believe that if they removed just a single table to make more space, it would be a more enjoyable dining experience for everyone.
Best octopus in NY - so tender and perfectly prepared. The bronzini is always a treat. My favorite Greek restaurant outside of Greece. Our server Naoni was great. Its nice to have Greek staff in a Greek restaurant. If you speak a little Greek you'll feel right at home and if you don't they know the food and wine because they grew up with it so you'll have a great experience
Good restaurant in many ways, but very loud. The food and service is great, but the music is loud (and louder for celebrations)... But also the acoustics need work to tamp down the decibel levels. Not the place to go to if you want to have easy conversation across the table.
