Excellent wait staff who were very attentive and friendly - were willing to be flexible on menu choices.
The food was so delicious we ate so much ! The service was wonderful and it’s such a lovely space. Would definitely recommend to others !
Great food at a great price. It was relatively quiet on a Sunday afternoon.
Ethiopic is reliably good very time we go there for dinner.
This was an amazing experience. I truly enjoyed trying a brand new place and food. My girlfriend enjoyed it as well.
This restaurant was beautiful with the dim lights and candles. It was my first time eating Ethiopian food so I relied heavily on the servers suggestions. The server suggested lamb and beef tibs - we went with lamb tibs and spicy chicken instead and were glad that we did due to the sauce alone. The lamb tibs seemed flavorless in comparison to the chicken. When bringing our food, the server took his time to explain how to eat the food with our hands (this was so much fun!) The only complaint that I could make is that in all of this, there was no suggestion of adding a veggie. Our food was great, but it was all meat and bread... I feel like it was missing that pop of a vegetable.
Tried this on a whim. Good food but small portions. Miss the more traditional way of serving the food on a platter lined with injera. Great coffee!
Food is consistently good. Service is always very slow, but work the wait.
The food was delicious and the servers were helpful and attentive.
Amazing food. Huge number of plant-based options and good value for the money. I am a fan
Amazing tibs and bozena shiro! Always solid food and fairly affordable.
My favorite Ethiopian restaurant - in fact one of my favorite restaurants period.
Very great food. Love the sampler platters. The server did not seem to understand cocktails at all and that was kind of comical. Vodka cranberry was delivered with lots of vodka and splash of cranberry.. It was funny.
Excellent! Loved it!
Delicious! Best food we have had here in Washington DC!
Good food, new taste. Staff is nice and efficient.
Delicious, authentic, great service!!
We went for a New Year’s Eve dinner and it was great! Very nice, attentive staff. Delicious food. Our waitress made recommendations for what to order based on our preferences since we have only eaten Ethiopian a few times, and it was awesome.
This was my first experience with authentic Ethiopian food. The server was very courteous and the food was delicious. The restaurant was quiet and lighting was nice. A perfect way to enjoy food at a table with a friend or two.
Our waitress was an outstanding representative of Ethiopian cuisine and took the time to explain Ingira to my nephew. I am sorry I don’t have her name be she is great.
First of all, the food was absolutely delicious. Vegetarian and beef options were top notch. But the service, while pleasant, was S-L-O-W!!!!!!
As always, the food was fantastic, the service excellent.
This is a good place both for those that are new to Ethiopian food as well as regulars.
It was a wonderful place to go for authentic, and delicious, Ethiopian cuisine.
Good service. A couple of items on the menu were not available.
I would not recommend this restaurant for one primary reason. They padded the check. Very unethical.
The food and service were very good but it is way too loud
I love this place. I eat here usually once a week. However, this week my service was bad and my mom and I were the only two people in there. No one checked on us at all. We had to ask for the check after finally being served. I hope it is better next time.
Inside was a bit smelly( not sure if proximity to restrooms or certain food smells) but when seated outside, we had a better experience. Restrooms could use some work. Service could be a touch faster. Food was great
I thought the place was just charming. Very polite and courteous staff. Loved the collard greens and lamb dishes. A special place.
The food and the service is always outstanding. We love Ethiopic!
I would recommend it if they’ve had Ethiopian good before and like it. Otherwise, it would not be my first choice to recommend. It was everyone’s (in the party) first time eating Ethiopian and none of us were super impressed, but because we didn’t like the spongy bread. The food was too spicy for 2 of the people in the party, but we were told it’s not spicy. If you like Ethiopian then I’m sure you would love this restaurant!
Great atmosphere, wonderful food and attentive services. We'd never had Etheopian food before. It was a delicious and delightful experience.
We loved our first time here! Unfortunately it was our first time using Open Table and I had not noticed we were reserved for two instead of our party of five, the restaurant took no time accommodating us anyway and we’re so nice about it, although I felt horrible. We brought our three children and asked the waiter with help in a selection, thankfully he knew just what to recommend and even gave us the heads up that our younger two would not like much of the meal - he was right. They ate more than we thought they would but had a better time with the desert. Wonderful restaurant with a fantastic staff, do yourself a favor and go!
Good food and service. Great outdoor seating. Family friendly but also great for date night!
Love the food , service, and atmosphere. One of our go to places in our Capitol Hill/H Street neighborhood. Great for visitors, who often don't have access to Ethiopian cuisine.
The food is excellent and so was the service
Absolutely love Ethiopic! Best Ethiopian restaurant in DC!
As the floors and walls are bare, the sound is very loud and that is with only half the restaurant full. The fish to go with the veggie platter is fried and boney with minimal meat on it at best so avoid.
