Etch Ratings and Reviews
Etch is one of those restaurants that is always memorable with food and service out of this world. Though it isn't the most expensive restaurant we've been to (though it is in the $50-100/person range depending on number of courses and alcohol), it tastes like it and is definitely worth every penny and savoring every moment.
Etch is always wonderful, as everyone attests here. But we were especially thankful for how they handled our late arrival (because of terrible traffic). They easily could have turned us away, as we were 40 minutes late on Valentine's Day, but they worked hard to make room for us, and our experience was stellar, as it always is, even on a busy Valentine's evening. Etch is a jewel in Nashville's culinary crown.
This has been on my bucket list, and did not disappoint! I got the lamb, and my husband had the venison. Both were good, but the lamb was fantastic.
Started with the roasted cauliflower, which is nothing extraordinary, but the sauces it is served with are really good.
And make sure to leave room for dessert! Perfect ending, for a great meal.
We selected Etch based on multiple local friend's recommendations for quality dining while staying in downtown Nashville. This occasion was for my 60th birthday, and the experience couldn't have been any nicer!
Our initial reservation was just for two, but then two other couples asked to join us. The hotel concierge requested the late revision to add four more, but translation when we arrived at the restaurant was just for four, not six as intended. But, the ladies at the front desk quickly came up with a solution and we were seated within 5 minutes of walking in the door!
Our waiter was very engaging and knowledgeable, providing both recommendations and food descriptions while allowing us time to converse and enjoy the previous course. While we were sitting adjacent to a main thoroughfare and the restaurant was full, it didn't feel crowded or rushed.
As advertised, the food and drink was exceptional, both in presentation and quality. When they didn't have one of our party's preferred cocktail, they improvised with a tastier concoction that he fully enjoyed. From the appetizers to each main entree to the birthday dessert, there was nothing but compliments from all parties! The owner Deb even came out from her frantic preparation of their upcoming Valentine's special to say hi and see how we liked it.
If you have the opportunity, make sure you don't miss the excellent dining experience at Etch!
Fantastic food, great waiter, great service from start to finish. I had the lamb loin. It was cooked to perfection. The accompaniments were fantastic. The homemade ice cream may be the best I have ever had. Still one of my favorite restaurants in Nashville!
Our server, Ed, was friendly, knowledgable and visited the table at just the right times. We were only able to get a Rez at 5pm, and based on the number of empty tables when we left at 645, felt we should have been able to get a slightly later seating. I phoned before our Rez and was told that we couldn't be seated any later. The dishes were beautifully presented and each offered many complimentary favors. The duck appetizer was over the top, and the ceviche was top quality and served with cold spicy creamed potatoes. So tasty! The Corvina was cooked just right and my husband loved his lamb entree. This restaurant was perfect for us.
Nice location with modern furniture and fixtures. Food is excellent, if a bit eclectic. Wine list is similar - nice depth with lots of selections (all the ones I checked on Wine Spectator were highly rated), but almost none of the choices you see at other restaurants. Service was extremely attentive, without being intrusive.
We were not impressed with Etch. Their drink menu offered three specialty martinis and they were out of ingredients for two of them. Our table was by a window and looked out at a street filled with ugly barriers and harsh street lights. They may want to think about hanging some drapes along those windows while that construction is going on. Lastly, our server came and removed our cheese and honey board while we were still eating it. Not an overall great experience.
This is my second visit to Etch. Great atmosphere and cocktails. The roasted cauliflower is amazing. I don’t normally do a burgers but I split it with my daughter this trip. The burger was dry and over cooked. I would not order it again. But the etch salad is excellent.
I dined with a girlfriend prior to attending the Nashville Antiques and Garden Show at the Music city Center. The atmosphere was happening and the food fresh with light options. We each enjoyed a salad or appetizer and split a delicious fish taco entree. The wine selections by the glass were excellent and the service top notch. I highly recommend Etch for downtown dining in Nashville.
