Etch Ratings and Reviews
I have been around the world many times over, I have routinely eaten at the worlds best and finest for business and pleasure... Believe me when I say Etch is as good as it gets. If you don't have the world against which to compare, then you can take comfort in knowing they are well in their way to being a 5 Star Michelin restaurant. Their freshness and cobinations of base flavors were perfect and unique. Watch out Nashville.
We made the reservation based on our first experience at Etch, which was very good. Unfortunately this experience wasn’t as good. The hostess seemed distracted and it took 10 minutes to seat us, despite the fact the restaurant was empty. The service and cocktails were very good. We had the scallops (which were very good) and the special Mahi-mahi. The mahi-mahi was not very good. The fish was to be seared, but didn’t appear to have been. The fish was fresh, but bland. The dish was “wet”, making the purée a little sloppy. We were also a little surprised there was no effort to recognize my wife’s birthday, despite setting up the reservation as a birthday dinner and letting the waiter know (he specifically asked if we were there to celebrate anything). Finally they had only one valet on duty on a very busy Saturday night. It took 15 minutes to get our car, then we couldn’t get out do to all the cars in front of us. It wasn’t a bad experience, but with all the options in Nashville, we most likely won’t go back.
This place was simply fabulous! The food was DIVINE! The roasted cauliflower was unbelievable and I do not care for cauliflower! What a treat to try all the different dishes. Do not skip dessert... nothing about this place will disappoint you. Thank you Etch for a great exciting dining experience! Sally R.
Visiting Nashville for a few days - this one of two restaurants we experienced was the hands down winner! Amazing delicious preparation of everything we ordered. Server was very knowledgeable and her recommendations served us well. The octopus salad was best prep of octopus we have ever tasted! Well done Chef!
A great find before a concert at The Schermerhorn. Server, Angela, was excellent. She explained some menu items, suggested wine pairing, offered a tasting of an unfamiliar wine. We had a show to catch which was accommodated without rushing us.
Wish I lived in Nashville to make this a regular!
Great experience with a robust selection of "foodie" items. The Cauliflower appetizer was great as recommended by our server. The combination of items detailed on each dish could seem intimidating, however, the flavors complimented nicely together. The Chocolate Mousse - was awesome as well.
Was looking forward to Etch for lunch during a convention, but was so disappointed with my meal (3 out of 4 ordered this and all were disappointed). I chose the Turkish Fish Taco because the description made it look like it would have some really good flavors that I've never had in a fish taco. Instead, it was a very bland soggy mess on a plate. I think there were two tacos - at least there were two soggy tortillas on the plate. One had a big lump of "feta cream" and eggplant on it, the other had the fish on it. The sauce that made the tortillas soggy had very little flavor, and the sprig of cilantro was thrown on top.
Headed to Etch after reading excellent reviews and was not disappointed. Enjoyed every minute, from the delicious cocktails, cauliflower appetizer, cobia dinner special and ended with the almond cake. Everything was perfectly balanced and well thought out. Highly recommend.
This is the first restaurant I went to when I moved here 2 years ago. Love it - from the bartenders who make me feel welcome for happy hour to a business dinner or date night dinner in the dining room before the symphony. Thumbs up to Chef Deb and lovely staff! Unique mixture of flavors and textures in her dishes and true hospitality.
Had a pre symphony reservation. This was our third visit to Etch. Waiter was very knowledgeable and attentive without being intrusive. Service was slow this visit, as it has always been. The apps were a squash soup and the Etch salad, both very good. Entrees ordered were a pork tenderloin and the filet. Both were cooked to order and very flavorful. Although pressed for time, we ordered the olive oil cake, it was very good along with caps.
Deb Paquette’s menu is varied and prepared well however, something needs to improve in the kitchen. The orders come out way to slow. I must say the manager did apologize and comped our apps and gave us a $50 gift certificate. I really felt badly for our server, you could see the angst on his face.
We’ll continue to patronize Etch as we enjoy Deb’s food and we appreciated the gift certificate.
We had Matt as our server, who did a great job! Serving our group of 4. Helping us finding the right wines and telling about the food was done in a very professional way. The food, how it was plated and taste, was really outstanding. Would come back anytime. Thanks!!
