   Great food and great service. Sat at chefs counter. The Mussels app and the venison were some of the best I’ve had. My server Kevin took great care of us by ensuring the courses came out at the right time.

   The food is creative, but not trying too hard. Ingredients are high-quality, food is well-prepared and beautifully-plated, and portions are very generous (particularly for downtown Nashville). The cauliflower appetizer was incredibly flavorful on its own, but the sauces were delicious too. The half-portion easily could have charged at the full-portion price. The tenderloin entree was gigantic and easily could have been less than half the size for the price. The pavlova was delicious, unusual, beautiful, and also well-worth the price. The service was incredible--friendly, attentive, helpful--great recommendations and warnings of portion sizes. I was dining alone and it was clear I was a tourist. It was the end of the lunch service and I easily could have been ignored. Every member of the staff I interacted with was welcoming and talkative. The cucumber-mint mocktail was a bit too sweet and had too much ice, but easily could have been $10-12, so for the price the excessive amount of ice still allowed for a value. My meal at Etch was one of the most incredible lunches I've had. I cannot wait to return on future trips and recommend the restaurant to everyone I hear traveling to Nashville.

    I don't reccomend sitting at chef's bar for a culinary arts experience. All you get is an opportunity to watch staff fold napkins, while they chat about their personal lives. All the chef activities are along the far wall, behind a tall serving counter. Beet salad was all arugula with a few beets and hardly any nuts or fruit. Venison was very good, but a bit skimpy. Delicious but small oysters. Delicious deserts.

    The mussels were incredible, as were the gluten free rolls. The cocktails were also delicious. Our servers were wonderful and attentive. we had fun sitting by the kitchen. unfortunately our main meals were terrible. the scallops were not flavorful and where in a soupy “pasta”. i got a sirloin and asked for it medium. it came out completely raw. i showed it to them and asked them to put it back on the grill. they happily took it and brought out a new steak which was also raw. it was bloody and red throughout. the very outside pieces were edible. The manager was apologetic and did not charge us for our meals. It was just disappointing as this restaurant was highly recommended. we also got the fried brussels sprouts and they were delicious.

    Carter was our server and he was extremely knowledgeable about the dishes and all of their ingredients. Sitting at the chefs counter allowed us to watch the magic unfold as the back and front of house worked together like a well oiled machine.

    Good reviews prior were misleading or from a different era of this place. Ambiance and service were excellent. The decor is very high end, great location. Crowded, hard to get into. "Free" parking valet good. Prices high but in line with expectations. But the food was very subpar. It begins with the menu--the dishes themselves are confused. Too many ingredients. At first it seemed perhaps inventive, but the palette was muddled and something you might expect from say, Applebees. Over-glazed Etch salad, far too much very sweet dressing. Mahi Mahi fish was sitting in a puddle of strange mixed flavor along with a soggy sweet potato beignet. Yes a beignet served in a wet basement of indiscernible broth. The fish had what I could only describe as a Heinz barbecue flavor mixed with cranberries in a clear-ish puddle. The mixed drinks were the same--impossible to imagine with all the ingredients but when received, absolutely terrible, unsubtle, super-sweet and two-dimensional.

    We chose Etch to celebrate our birthdays. It was a very enjoyable experience. The food was delicious and well plated and the drinks were equally as good. We sat at the counter and our waitress was very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Overall great experience!

    Service was top notch. Food was fantastic. We had the filet- amazing, Mahi- delicious, roasted cauliflower and chocolate hazelnut dessert. Everything came out perfectly timed and Amy took amazing care of us. I had repeatedly heard how good this place was and we decided to finally try it. So glad we did!

    The food was delicious! They happily split both a salad and entree for us. The service was exceptional. We were on a time crunch and our server understood and sped things up for us. If we hadn’t been on a schedule, things would have been leisurely I’m sure. The bar remembered my dad’s wine order so that our server could get him the same glass. A little pricey but certainly not the most I’ve spent on dinner in Nashville lately. All in all a great experience.

    The food was fantastic and the service was exceptional! This is the 4th time I've been to Etch and I'll keep going back. I took my parents and we all 3 ordered the Argentinian Beef Tenderloin for Lunch and it was fantastic. 10 out of 10 recommend.

    Etch food is outstanding. Good quality ingredients, thoughtfully prepared in creative ways. Loved it. The service is friendly if a bit slow at times, but understandable given how busy they were. My only complaint/observation is that the smell of truffles permeates whenever a truffle dish is served.... many tables are affected. It is way too strong. It is pungent and overshadows the aroma of the other dishes. I would consider removing it from the menu, as it impacts other diners's experience. sort of like a smoker. Ugh.

    eat here twice this week, which really said something . Really great lunch which drove me to go back for dinner the next day.. Clearly a well run establishment with some noticeably fresh and creative dishes. Our business team had the pork chop, venison and special, lamb meatballs. Venison stole the show. We also had a shrimp octopus appetizer and Brussel sprouts as a shared side, both memorable! We had a really great server. my only knock here is value. Pretty pricey, though it may have been the two bottles of wine! I would return

    Etch was a great experience. Not just the food, presentation, menu choices but the overall care and interest about special dietary issues, what is in each item, how they could modify if necessary to meet dietary needs, from the waiter to the managers. Service was top drawer and the food items were simply spectacular. Restaurant is beautiful inside. I’ll be back here in every trip to Nashville.

    Overall, it was a very nice meal. The kitchen noise was pretty loud. Banging of dishes, etc. I hate sitting next to an "open" kitchen but it seems I always have bad luck with that. Our server was terrific, and the food was very good.
