Went there for our anniversary was a great experience however my girlfriends burger was under as she likes her burger well done it was medium well but they quickly fixed it without a problem the lamb chops I had was amazing!!
Bar seating is too loud and the server did not come by often enough to ask if anything else was needed.
We stopped in on a Tuesday evening. Food was delicious and the service was friendly.
Breakfast was unbelievable delicious, I'm a super fan of smoked salmon benedict, try so many places but ETA’s benedict won't let you down, I can tell that's the best-smoked salmon benedict I have ever had, and the breakfast potato, OMG! I can eat it everyday.
Fried Calamari tastes not good, but the pork chop was surprisingly good, nice decorations and a good place to dine with friends. Our female server was nice and attentive, sorry we forgot to ask her name.
Great place to have a meal!
The lunch menu here is not really very interesting. They should have a true brunch menu and keep it until 2pm or so.
Excellent service and the tuna tartar (compliments of the chef) is a must! I hope they add it to their menu!
The setting for the restaurant was great and right in a hotel lobby. It was dark and not overly noises. However, the prices were way too high for the food options. The menu was very small and needed some more selections.
I wanted a quiet place with great food for a quick business dinner and I found it at ETA. What great food, quiet and great ambiance. Enjoyed it very much. I enjoyed the braised beef. Looked as great as it tasted. Ate every bit of it and the bread was exceptional too. Afterward walked down to the Navy Pier which is quite close. Bonus. I shall return again when back in Chicago.
Overall not the worst experience. The presentation of the food is the best this place has to offer.
Overall good for the value
Great food and service at reasonable prices.
I can usually be skeptical of “hotel based” restaurants, but this place was outstanding. The service was spot on from minute one, highly attentive and amazingly professional. The drinks were superb. The food, wow. So well done. Our steaks were of a “fine steakhouse” comparison, and the sides were a delight. You MUST get the crispy brussels! I will definitely be back.
The restaurant was very small, food was good. For a beautiful building the views and ambience are lacking. Restaurant is in the lobby.
Smoked lox Salmon was old from being out
The staff were really friendly and professional. We especially loved all of the side vegetables. I would return for the carrots alone! A definite recommend.
A little loud for a party of 6 to all heat each other. Otherwise, excellent. Delicious food and healthy options. Great service.
Staff went out of their way to make our business lunch successful. Great service but unobtrusive. Wonderful food. Potential to be loud but we had a nice table along the wall.
We were surprised at how well everything was prepared and how quickly we got our food. We will definitely be coming back.
The service was extremely slow and forgot parts of our order. There was also very loud music coming from their event space nearby. Food and drink were heavily overpriced. The steaks were decent.
Smallest menu I've ever seen in a high end restaurant and very overpriced! Paid $75 for two burgers, (frozen patties) with fries and once cocktail, including tip.
Incredible food. Best meal I have had in a long time. You could tell the ingredients were fresh, every dish we had was delicious. Friendly staff and great service, overall an awesome dinner!
Awesome Mac N Cheese
Excellent breakfast , nice options and friendly staff
Very good Brussel Sprout Caesar salad. Really different and very tasty. Added a piece of salmon on top and made for a great lunch. Very casual atmosphere so great for breakfast or lunch or a casual dinner.
We went for breakfast. Was glad we had a reservation. Ours was the only empty table. Got eggs Benedict. Fantastic. Never ending coffee. Would go back.
Excellent and attentive service. Very accommodating to a family with a toddler and an Older child. Food was outstanding.
Everything I had was delicious. Wait staff courteous.
Great evening, first time here, place was very nice, server was great food was awesome, even though I felt the Brussel sprout Caesar was overly bitter, needed something to cut the bitterness but went well with my chicken, wife enjoyed herself as well. Will be back!!
Food was exquisite, but the service was not up to par with the hype of the restaurant. I'd go back as it is a hot spot.
Over priced for what you receive
I rarely if ever complain but this was an absolutely horrible experience. We sit down immediately which was great, but then we don’t get served for 25 minutes, two servers kept looking at us and walking right by, I had to go up and ask one if we had a server, he finally came (there were only 4 people there, one couple and an elderly friend couple). Then once he was there he got our order almost entirely wrong. My date asked for crispy Brussels sprouts, got a Brussels Caesar salad? I asked for the burger, that came out correctly and tasted good, but also asked for the truffle Mac, and he brought out mashed potatoes, it was just an all around bad experience. Hopefully it was just my experience and it’s not always this terrible.
All the meals were too sweet/sugary (except meat which was stringy and fatty).
No ambiance; no attempt to make it seem like New Years Eve; poor service clearing one persons plate while the other is still eating; would you consider 1 oyster to be counted as a course?
Go for the breakfast.
Robbie, Thank you for taking the time to review your recent breakfast experience. We are thrilled to hear that it was a five star worthy meal. We appreciate your business, thanks for stopping in and dining with us at ETA Restaurant + Bar and we look forward to welcoming you back again soon! Best, Christian Hansen Managing Director
The server that my friend and I got was Michael...Michael was really great server and was very helpful with explaining the menus and cocktails. We enjoyed trying ETA restaurant for the first time and would to thank Michael for his service.
The food at this restaurant was not good. Started off with calamari which should be easy, but this was by far the worst calamari we have ever eaten. So much so, that 4 of us left half of the appetizer even though we were all hungry. Everything else was just average.
We went for lunch on Sunday - disappointed that they didn't have any brunch dishes (no egg dish of any kind). Would be easy and sensical to have a few brunch options on Sundays.
