We had a gift certificate for Et Voila. So glad we finally used it! Everything was good; the food , service, wine suggestion, atmosphere. Would definitely recommend to others!

We took friends there for a birthday celebration. As always everything was great. We had the ribeye, duck, fish and onion soup. If they offer a SOUFFLÉ DU JOUR for dessert, get it, it is the best I have ever had. We got three desserts the MOUSSE AU CHOCOLAT NOIR and the PROFITEROLES which we shared. Our friends are already planning on introducing their friends to this great restaurant

whiskey used to come with awesome block of ice. ordered usual whiskey and it was on crushed ice. have never been served whiskey on crushed ice. then told i needed to specifically ask for the round solid ice. oh well, then food was different from initial order 6 months ago. something is changing and not for the better. waitress was excellent. just felt like something was missing.

As always everything was perfection. This is my go to French restaurant in San Diego. The ravioli is amazing and duck confit was perfect.

Loved this restaurant! Very French, with authentic French dishes and lots of French wines. We had quail and lamb, with a red Burgundy, and it was one of the best meals we've had in a long time! Service was excellent too. And they don't have concrete floors, so it's not loud.

This would be a great place for happy hour; however, they don’t tell you that happy hour is only at the bar until you’re seated, and by then it could be another 30 minute wait. The bar area seemed to have a good ambiance with a little bit of a louder crowd and better bang for your buck based off the menu prices.

We sat at a regular table towards the back of the restaurant that was much quieter and probably better for families or a romantic date. The table for two was tiny and therefore they said they could only bring us one appetizer at a time. Maybe seat us at a bigger table next time? There were plenty available. The service was a little slow, but I will say the food was delicious. We had the mushroom ravioli, the mussels, and the fromage (all appetizers). The ravioli only came with 3 small ones, and the fromage wasn’t very generous with the actual cheese- we basically feel that both were overpriced. On the other hand, the mussels were a steal! The bucket was actually filled to the top, which was a pleasant surprise, and the broth was to die for.

Would I recommend it? Yes, because the food was phenomenally delicious. However, for the price, you could find an equally satisfying French bistro elsewhere. We ended up paying $120 for 3 apps and a couple of cocktails.

We love Et Voila! It's one of the few fine dining options in the Normal Heights area. The ambiance and service are always amazing. The price is good for the type of food, which is excellent. We like the mussels and cheese boards for light fare, but the steak frittes and duck are great options for full meals.

I loved the food and the service. The restaurant is beautiful but it smells like an old fish market.

Thanks Lily for you review! We are excited you enjoyed our restaurant as well as the food. This weekend special was a Bouillabaisse that is traditional fish soup and it was an total success. Since we do cook everything from scratch here at Et Voilà! and a lot of tables around you ordered the Bouillabaisse, we are not surprised that you smelled that wonderful fish and rouille delicacy. Feel reassure this not how the restaurant smell everyday!

I really wanted to love the place. The menu looks great and very reasonably priced. Wine list a tad overpriced but $25 corkage fee makes up for it. Dishes came out looking great. It is just that the food was underwhelming. Small details, but most dishes had something a little bit off. Can't fault the ambition in the menu, but the execution let them down a bit. If they can sort that out, it will be an outstanding restaurant. Also, was super loud initially, couldn't hold a conversation until a few tables cleared out. The place would greatly benefit from some acoustic improvements and softer music.

Everything was quite good and your people are terrific. Our only complaint is that the blinis with the caviar service are much too small, making it pretty difficult and awkward to eat.

Our server was not as attentive or cordial as the person we had on a prior occasion (and the prior occasion was on a much busier night). Patrons should never feel rushed to order, wine tasting should not be treated as a chore and wine glasses should be periodically refilled by the server. That said, the host was charming, the ambiance wonderful and the food absolutely delicious.

My boyfriend hyped this place up a lot and coming from him he has a good tongue for food so he did his job when he told me it was worth. Mussels were nice plumped and juicy. The sauce for the mussels was perfectly seasoned unlike other places I’ve had it was too salty or the garlic over powered it. The French toast was amazing. Each bit u had with any of the fruits gave you a different experience.

My friend, of French extraction...voila!!....knows your restaurant and wanted me to come. So she ordered her 2nd favorite because without her revealing, I had already picked her favorite, the short rib hash. So of course we traded plates and it was all quite wonderful.
Had to see dinner menu..."we'll be back" to quote a famous former governor.
BUT:
I want to particularly commend whomever selects the wines by the glass. Very good for the price you charge and in some cases (we tasted several) spectacular: the Rasteau for example.
Hang in there. You're on to something.
Too bad French cuisine is avant garde' like it was back in the 1960s...yes I am that old.

this was our first time at Et Voila but it won't be our last. We had extremely good meals (steak frites for me, duck for my husband). everything was cooked exactly as we ordered it, the wine was delicious and the service was very good. It is quite expensive but we felt it was very good value for money given the high quality of everything. We shall be back.

This is a wonderful restaurant! The food is wonderful, as are the cocktails, the service is expert, the prices are reasonable but most important a guest feels welcome! It's a warm, relaxing place to eat and enjoy with friends or family.

It was an OK dinner. Not terrific but not horrible. Started dinner with a martini that was really a half-martini, the glass was half empty. Then we asked for bread and got a very small baguet for 4 people. My entry was salmon and tasted bland and again, the serving came in a bowl that was very empty looking. Perhaps I ordered the wrong item. Not sure if I will go back again.

Feel free to ask for more, we give as many serving as you need. There are no "wrong things" to order on our menu. Each dish is crafted with care and passion. It is true that we pay attention to the presentation as well, we apologize if the bowls that we use for the salmon are too big. We will look into that. We are looking forward to seeing you again.
