Excellent Filipino inspired food. 👏🏽 Amazing service and quality of food -(exception the oysters on the half shell could have been better). The spices take the food to another level. Prices are great for the quality.

The host was very helpful and gracious to move us to a table not next to kids however the overall service was not up to par. The waiter, never came back to ask if we wanted another round of cocktails, didn’t deliver the food, didn’t ask if the food came out ok, didn’t ask if we wanted more water, and took longer than desired to clear the table. Overall, for the price point, I left more than disappointed.

The maître d’ was very considerate. He noticed that the vent next to our table was blowing on us, and proactively, turned it off and came over and told our table so we didn’t freeze the warm meal.

I went here for Thanksgiving dinner. The Thanksgiving dinner included a 3 course meal along with a champagne toast to start. The food was delicious. They also accommodated my mushroom allergy. The ribeye was marinated with mushrooms, so instead, I was given a New York strip steak which was delicious. However, I do wish that the sides were hot. Some of them were room temperature or cold. There was a dessert buffet table with multiple options. I really enjoyed the purple, sweet potato cheesecake. The service was very good. Overall, I would come back here for another holiday dinner.

The tasting menus for seafood and for meat, which we ordered, consisted of unique recipes that did justice to high-quality ingredients. Everything was delicious; in particular, chicken liver pâté, duck breast in plum sauce, and cashew sponge dessert were memorable. We’ll return.

I wanted to try this place after the chef won the DC Central kitchen “food fight” and it did not disappoint, the atmosphere was quiet, the service was excellent be the food was very good. I went during Thanksgiving week so Christmas decorations were up and it was a nice touch. We also had a view of the Ciry Center which made for a very nice evening. Definitly recommend!

We tried the Flora and Watershed tasting menus with a mocktail for me and the wine pairing for my husband. We also attempted to try the Estuary in the Raw, but weren’t exactly successful….more on that. We placed our order and quickly received my mocktail as well as two milk buns. The buns were nearly black on top, which we chalked up to an unusual artistic choice, unfortunately it was actually the first warning sign of what was to come. (Mocktail was good though) Our first courses arrived and the first two bites my husband had of the rockfish had bones in it - we sent the plate back. Since there had been no sign of the Estuary in the Raw that we ordered we reminded the server and he apologized profusely (he was honestly very sweet). It came out a few minutes later along with a second attempt at the rockfish. The oysters and shrimp were good, the rockfish was so-so. When our second courses arrived my husband waited in vain for his wine pairing. We finally ate the food before it got too cold. Several minutes later the server arrived with the now partnerless wine. What to say about the mains? My “potato lasagna” as the server called it was pretty flavorless and the potatoes were undercooked. My husband’s lobster was also lacking any real flavor and his lobster had the opposite problem - it was severely over cooked. At least the wine came on time for this course. For the dessert course we both ended up eating my beignets, which were delicious. His fruit crumble was oddly salty and overall underwhelming. Regrettably the best thing about Estuary is the gorgeous location. The food was deeply disappointing and certainly not worth the price point.

The food and the presentation was immaculate. The service was outstanding as well. Highly recommend the raw bar and the seafood carbonara. The yuzu apple crisp was a little overdone and tart for my taste. If you get a chance, get a seat near the window where you can an excellent view of the lighted trees and walkway below. It is a great place to have a peaceful and amazing food experience.

Great location! The initial host/greeter the past few times we’ve been there has been lacking. The food was not as fresh or good as it was in the past, for example the fish did not taste fresh and they used swiss chard not kale, it wasn’t a great duo. Prior they had an amazing mushroom broth and the fish was seared perfectly. Management was awesome and the berry cheesecake is a must! Light and airy, packed with flavor. I’ve been underwhelmed with the drinks at this location for the price it’s nothing special. I’m comparing this spot to the high-end LA and Michelin restaurants I’ve visited the past year.

Fun vibe. Excellent cocktails. Nice, but pricey wine list. Food was not bad, but I expected more based on the cost. The portions were somewhat small, and the food lacked pizzazz but was solidly good. Service was excellent.

We had a great first experience at Estuary. The restaurant (and the whole hotel) are beautiful and the restaurant boosts a first class view. I was hosting friends from out of town and are somewhat fussy about their diet. They both easily found something they wanted to try and everyone, including me, were satisfied with the food. I would personally prefer a few more options on the menu but what we selected was fresh, tasty and wonderfully plated. Prices are very reasonable and the service by Raphael was top notch. I would definitely return again. Bravo!

I had thought this was a Michelin star rated restaurant but I guess not. There wasn’t anything special about the food IMHO. I do think it was good for the price but would have been willing to pay more.

Given my experience, I won't be planning a return visit to this establishment. The food was good, but the strict photo policy, including a hefty $500 charge for flash photography ruined our overall experience . Dining out should be a relaxed and enjoyable affair, and unfortunately, this wasn't the case here. I hope they reconsider their policies for the sake of future guests."

Chose Estuary due to late arrival / early meeting and ease of staying at The Conrad. Not “hotel restaraunt” food….. party of 4 we all truly enjoyed our meals. Roasted oysters, grilled summer squash, skirt steak and rock fish all made for happy tummies!

My husband and I went for dinner when we were in DC for a conference. We shared a Caesar salad, which was delicious: a touch of bacon really brought out the dressing and Parmesan cheese. Maybe purists would be aghast, but it worked for us! We also shared the seafood carbonara: absolutely delicious! Plentiful clams, shrimp & fish, creamy delicious sauce, and surprising crunches of trout roe to delight the culinary experience. We asked for bread and received Yorkshire pudding with very tasty butter. We got seconds with which to sop up extra sauce. Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner with a very dry, very chill martini.

We got the ham and cheese board, Bibb salad and smash burger. Food was quite good but cheese board overpriced. Service was not good. When we arrived at the hostess station she was on the phone and did not even acknowledge our arrival with eye contact or a head nod. We were seated and it was quite some time before anyone even acknowledged us. No one came back to check our food, replenish our water or offer us another round of drinks. I flagged someone down for the latter. Requested a dessert menu that never arrived. Then had to request our check be brought. Expect this service at a chain type of restaurant, not at a fine dining establishment.

The restaurant has beautiful architecture and friendly, pleasant, professional staff but a surprising lack of seafood entrees for a restaurant named Estuary that bills itself as focused on fare from waters. There was only one seafood dish available at lunch and then a mishmash of other dishes, including a generic ham sandwich on bread cut from a larger loaf that could be sold at the CostCo deli counter. Fine in a pinch but underwhelming and not the elevated dining experience we were hoping for from a fairly expensive business lunch inside a luxury hotel.

The food was not that flavorful let alone for the price. The service is awesome but the food doesn't match. The crab hush puppies were salty and not enough crab in it was like eating a bad doughnut. The rockfish had crispy skin but the fish itself and its accompaniments were not seasoned enough and nothing spectacular.
