Estuary at the Conrad DC
Awesome food.. great decor.. service to be improve.. great waiter but not enough staff...and the waiter assume we were staying in the hotel for buy.. telling us about the fabulous breakfast.. interesting
We had a very nice time. Anton and Corbin took very good care of us and made sure that we were 100% delighted with every phase of our dine. We shall return!
Wonderful dinner! Desserts are too complicated.
This is probably not a destination restaurant in and of itself, but if you're at the convention center and want a nice meal and an interesting menu, and you don't mind being in a hotel, it's a solid choice.
Everything we ate was exceptional as was the service. Definitely get the crab roll they are tasty!
The food was great, but our server is who really made the meal just that much more enjoyable. She was helpful, extremely humorous, and downright fun. It was a group dinner and she did an awesome job picking starters, both on flavors as well as amount.
For the price, food and service need improvement.
A bit spendy ($22 for bacon and eggs) but everything else was very good.
Good solid restaurant. The ambience was a bit too "hotel-like". The food was quite good, but not outstanding.
We had to wait for about 20 min for the table and had a drink at the fantastic bar. The service was slow and erratic, and the first course was delicious along with the entrees. The sides were not good and deserts an exercise in deconstructed silliness that were not tasty. The ambiance is classy and beautiful.
Best place to have dinner with your significant other.
We sat at the chefs table and enjoyed watching the kitchen. The food was amazing and the weight staff welcoming.
Everything from the ambiance, staff, and food was of the highest quality. I really can’t recommend Estuary enough for any special occasion. If it is not already a Michelin Star restaurant, I have no doubt that it will be soon. Excellent.
This was an incredible dining experience!
We had three course meal. It took two hours to get our main courses and they forgot to put in one of the orders. Their kitchen needs to work on timing. The food was good however and they comped the entree they forgot to put in. Multiple tables next to us also didn’t receive their food in timely manner. For a restaurant 1/2 full this is unacceptable.
This was our second visit and there will be more. I think the presentations are works of art. Taste cannot be surpassed.
The servers explain what to expect expertly, guiding one through the many tempting choices. We decided, on both our visits,to try many of the starters and not order a main.
Deserts are magnificent looking not to mention a delight to eat.
This restaurant is truly outstanding. The food was fabulous - delicious and inventive - and presented beautifully. The service was outstanding - the best we have experienced in DC. The atmosphere was calming and lovely - spacious with picture windows overlooking the city. My husband had the tasting menu with the wine pairings, and it really was an excellent value for the quality of food and wine he received. I ordered al la carte, which was also wonderful. The entire experience could not have been better.
Hands down a restaurant not to be missed! The atmosphere service and menu are second to none. Our food and experience were the most memorable I’ve had in years.
It was inside of a hotel and that was never mentioned
Food weird only one strange salad just not good experience
Overpriced and overrated. Made no effort to acknowledge a very important birthday properly having been provided with ample notice. It’s great when you are at the top-just remember you may need to remember what really matters when you are no longer Number 1!
Great birthday celebration. Sommelier was spot on with wine selection.
Made us wait for a table then after fifteen minutes and three other parties tried to seat us in front of the kitchen. After asking for a quieter area we were seated in an area with half a dozen open tables. Reservation made little difference. Food was exceptional. Wait service very good.
Great food and overall wonderful experience - will definitely go back again!
What an incredible experience at this gorgeous sophisticated restaurant by the Voltagio brothers. The Conrad is a gorgeous new hotel and the Resturant really adds beauty and sophistication to an already amazing hotel. The food is incredible , great value for the quality and presentation with a mind blowing wine list. Our server Bruce was incredible; very knowledgeable , steered us the right direction and was very honest . He was fun to speak with and took the time to get to know us. Niel, our wine expert was amazing guiding us through the extensive and expansive wine list which he helped create. Our recommendation is to try as many small dishes as possible and let Bruce guide the way. We essentially had 11 courses with three wines, amounting to one of our best tasting menu with pairings ( our creation ) at half the price of the same somewhere else . Please go and experience amazing food and service and ask for Bruce !
A bit pricier but worth it. Might be one of the best meals I've had this year. The crab roll and cod were delicious!
It’s a beautiful space but some additional items might be needed for absorbing some of the sound.
Our waiter was so knowledgeable and our food was magnificent. We were very impressed .
The food was good. Service was extremely slow and inattentive.
I would recommend the restaurant for a special occasion of some sort. Not you're run of the mill, hey it's tuesday and I want a quick bite. It's pretty swanky. I expected service to be a bit better than what we received, but maybe it was because it was restaurant week 🤔. Not that it should be excused. The chicken dish probably needs a change, its a bit too earthy.. The burger was excellent and so was the crab roll.
Excellent food and beautiful space
We had the restaurant week prix fixe lunch menu which was flavorful. I loved my Maryland crab roll, light and pretty presentation. The Estuary burger for main course is not heavy and the cookies and cream dessert was the best way to end the meal.
The food is good and great presentations.
Food was amazing, service was amazing! I had a special request to meet Chef Bryan as it was my boyfriends birthday and we love Top Chef and they were able to arrange it. It was such a special experience that we will never forget. 10/10 would recommend!
Highly recommend, beautiful place, good food and great service!
Service was excellent and so were the starters and main dishes. The crab roll and octopus were fantastic. So was the lamb and the cod. Wine list was good and many high quality reasonably priced choices.
I don’t think I can say enough good things about this restaurant, but I’ll narrow it down. The service was phenomenal. Two women served our table: one for food and one for drinks. Both were very knowledgeable and helpful. We got a table in the corner facing CityCenter and it was perfect for catching up with a friend since the noise level was low. We shared the calamari and crab roll. The calamari may not look the most appetizing (due to the black-gray hue) but I can assure you it is some of the best calamari you’ll ever have. The crab roll was soooo cute (see picture for Old-Bay spiced plantain chips in the shape of a crab) and very delicious. Best crab roll I’ve ever had and the bread was so buttery and soft. My friend and I got the lamb pastrami and the salmon. Both were truly delightful. Go with the servers suggestion to get the salmon medium or medium well. It really makes a difference. The lamb pastrami is the reason I know I’ll be back. Very flavorful and not too fatty. I highly suggest this dish. For dessert, we both got the blood peach cheesecake. PERFECT ending to the meal. When you think cheesecake, you think dense and overly sweet, but this cheesecake was like a thick mousse almost. It was delicately sweet and not filling (which is a good thing after all the food we ate). I didn’t enjoy the almonds on top but the balled peaches were a great touch. We also received small almond cakes and raspberry dark chocolate with our check, and those were just as good as everything else was. Overall, Estuary puts an equal amount of effort into all courses and has a high standard for hospitality. The ambiance is truly unmatched. You have to see it to understand. The only negative thing I could say is that our entrees came a little later than we had hoped, but it was worth it honestly. If it’s possible, request a table near a window or corner. It really does make a difference in noise level. Also, the table bread is the best in town. I can’t wait to go again.
We went there on Thursday for dinner, anticipating a menu for restaurant week. To our dismay, it only offered lunch for RW. Since its website is not clearly marked as such, the dining room manager quickly amended the situation with complimentary appetizers.
We ended up with two complimentary teaser dishes , and a dessert sampler ( rum cakes, and chocolate/ raspberry squares) as well. The three appetizers: Parker House rolls, Avocado salad, and crevice were all excellent. Two of us had Hanger Steak, one with Salmon , they were all beautifully presented and tasty.
We were very impressed with the staff’s professionalism, our server Anton is to be commended for his thoughtful service. One plus is that where we were seating, we had panoramic view of the City Center Park.
Overall Estuary is an exciting place, with a different vibe from the usual DC restaurants. I will be back, especially with my out- of - town guests!
The food was a disappointment. Full Stop. The calamari was dry and over cooked. The salmon, sautéed, was tasteless. Not even salt. I asked if the salmon had remained in the freezer too long. The waiter replied it comes in fresh each day. Well, somewhere along the cooling chain, the salmon got lost. Very disappointed with my lunch at the Estuary at the Conrad DC
Best meal I've had all year. The sunflower seed risotto is life-changing. Should arrest every chef and cook in that kitchen for possession with intent to distribute, because the food might as well be drugs. 1000000% would come back.
There were dirty tables around us when we arrived and were not cleaned until 5 or 10 minutes later. The avocado dish was sitting in a pond of oil and was flavorless. The tuna tartare and steak tartare were lost in their preparation — the steak tartare was drowning in a mound of French onion cream. I had the hangar steak as my entree and it also came out swimming in sauce. It was extremely salty and almost inedible. The Voltaggio brothers even made an appearance, tasting the food and looking around — hard to believe they sent the food out as prepared. We were there celebrating my partners birthday and our waitress was really sweet and sent out a cake, very appreciative of the gesture but the lemon poppyseed cake was hard as a rock and so dry that you couldn’t eat it. Wine service was great and the crab roll was delicious but they really missed the mark on everything else.
