Estrella Rooftop at Bazati
An open-air bar, umbrella seating in the summer and a cozy covered space in the wintertime with and a lush list of bubbly and classic Latin cocktails (think Hemingway daiquiris and pisco sours) combine with a Latin American-inspired menu from Chef Roberto Solis, one of Mexico’s most celebrated chefs. Solis brings the flavors of the Yucatan to Estrella via a menu that highlights Latin flavors, such as ceviche, cochinita spring rolls and seasonal fish, meat and vegetables.
Here under the sun and stars, sink into our soft seating, soak up our Latin strains and order something refreshing from our gin & tonic cart. View Atlanta’s skyline atop Bazati from the city’s perfect perch on the Beltline's Eastside Trail.

The food was really delicious, surprisingly great. I took my husband here for brunch on Sunday at 12pm in February. Hence the ambiance was not great, as we were the only customers sitting outside. However our mood changed drastically when our drinks and food arrived. The spicy Jalapeno Margarita was on point and the food was divine. The flavors were well balanced and complemented one another. We aim to return of an evening and in the summer when the atmosphere will be more lively to enjoy their full dinner menu, as opposed to their smaller brunch menu.
Great time with friends! Great service, really good fresh food with simple ingredients. Loved the casual ambiance! Will def be back!
A crazy lady screaming the f-word to her friends from one of the rooftop sofas put a bit of a damper on the evening. Most of the tables looked over at the lady thinking maybe she would get the hint but unfortunately the drink was too heavy in her system. There were three servers who waited on us and apparently never spoke to each other. This lead to numerous interruptions. Difficult to carry on conversation. The main server was not a good listener and we had to ask multiple times for items that were forgotten including salsa (mind you, this is a Mexican restaurant). The food and appetizers all came out at the same time. The flavor was bland at best. Nothing special. We left immediately after finishing the meal. Such a pity. Great view of the city wasted on poorly executed restaurant.
We were hesitant to go based on the reviews, but we were pleasantly surprised! Great service, attentive and friendly. The food was awesome. (We did order extra chips as suggested for the Guacamole.) We had two older people with us who were having trouble hearing with the music so loud. So we asked if we could move inside and they offered to lower the music, which was great. Really a fabulous night.
The chef had a Red Snapper special with shrimp and crab bone marrow that was superb! We always have a great time, but it was especially delicious this visit! The heated tent and blankets on the patio made it cozy, and the decor was festive and fun!
Perfect spot for a girls night or date night! Gorgeous rooftop views with delicious cocktails and food!
The service was so slow, took almost 20 minutes to get a drink after being seated and the restaurant was not busy. Food was just OK.
The view from the rooftop was the only saving quality. Table was oddly placed between bar and patio. Food was flavorless and just meh. Service was slow and awkward.
Terrible experience. We ordered cocktails when we sat down and then appetizers. Appetizers were served before drinks and when we inquired about our drinks, the waitress disappeared for 15 minutes. My entree was dropped at the table while we were eating appetizers and my boyfriend’s came at least 10 minutes later. Food was mediocre and service was terrible.
Waitress ignored/snubbed us. Pulled some snide comments at me while I was alone waiting for date to arrive. Wouldn’t serve me the glass of wine I ordered. Wouldn’t take my appetizer order. Valet was difficult to find, led us in circles. Late to reservation bc of parking. Even hostess couldn’t offer a single piece of helpful info over phone to locate parking or restaurant... Friend of mine spent over 30 minutes trying to find the place, signs not clear enough, valet not helpful. No real vegetarian options, no bread. Fire alarm went off in the middle of dinner for... too long.
Good view, pretty decor. Hostess and chef were kind. Valet man hand-delivered key at end of night.
Great view and outdoor seating. Food and is interesting but not wonderful.
Loved the food, service and food phenomenal
Food and drink were amazing. Our server Johnathan was super friendly with great suggestions.
Absolutely worst service possible, from start to finish.
Fantastic skyline views, comfortable seating, and delicious tapas and entrees. I thought that our cocktails were a bit dull and lacked intensity, but otherwise it was perfect. Our waitress Judy was attentive and provided good menu recommendations.
Celebrated a family member birthday there. The restaurant was perfect, the rooftop on a most pleasant night made it most more special. The service was excellent and the food was very good. I'll hope to be back there in the near future.
The extremely loud music is ruining what is a wonderful roof top location. It seems like the music level has been gradually increasing over the last several months and increases throughout the day. During our last evening visit the music was so loud that we were unable to converse between the two couches our group was sitting at.
Great food and views of Atlanta were wonderful!
I booked a reservation for 7p this last Saturday, 4/6/19. I provided my name and contact info and received my confirmation. I was now all ready for this first date.
When we arrived the building had been bought out for the day for a private event.
No notice, no call, not anything. Do you really even book legit for this restaurant?
I must say I find your service lacking in every useful way.
Thanks for nothing.
I was certain that this restaurant would check all of the boxes...but I was pretty disappointed. I had a reservation for 8:30 and did not get seated for 30-45 minutes. By the time my friends and I got our menus and ordered appetizers, which took another 25 minutes, it was last call?? We didn’t even get to order dinner?? Our waiter never mentioned or suggested we should order right when were seated. I was excited to show some out of town friends the Beltline and everything it offered...including the restaurant scene...
Don’t waste your time. Try another place.
Outstanding food and service for our second time dining, happy to see this restaurant improved tremendously since it one my favorite in Atlanta!!
Very trendy and busy restaurant in the heart of the belt line. Excellent service with fun and friendly staff. I have never had a bad meal here. This is Traditional Mexican food with a twist and flare. Fabulous wine. My favorite there is Emilio Moro. Try it if you like red wine. Valet parking available or parking garage across the street.
The view was nice and the feel of the restaurant is light and airy. However the brunch menu was limited, especially for vegetarians, and I felt it was overpriced for what was served. I might return to try dinner options but wouldn't revisit for brunch.
Very loud inside could not hear each other speak at the table. Food was odd and expensive for the portions. Several items were out so maybe those would have been better. The only dish that was good was the pork belly tacos. The steak dish and chicken dish were bland. Had to ask several people for hot sauce to add some flavor and even it was bland. The view is the highlight of the restaurant.
Service was very slow food took over an hour which was fine since it was a nice day but once it finally arrived we requested salt and we had to ask over 3 times to get it by the time we got it we where almost done
Also check took forever
The rooftop at Estrella is amazing! The service, food, and viewes are some of the best in all Atlanta. Can’t wait to come back !
Most of the seating is on the deck. It was busy and the staff was learning on the fly. All that considered, the food was outstanding.
Always an amazing atmosphere wether I go with friends or a date. The drinks are amazing and the food is delicious
The rooftop deck is stylish and provides a great view of the Beltline and midtown. Unfortunately, we visited on a windy day and needed to sit inside. The small room has tall ceilings and tile floors, with nothing to absorb sound. As such, it was extremely noisy and difficult to hear each other over our small table. The interior was cute and bright, though.
The worst part of the meal was the service. Our server, who had curly hair and a tattoo behind her ear, was surly from start to finish. When we said we were ready to order she made an exasperated expression. When we said we had a few questions, she started looking around, as though trying to find someone else to relieve her. The menu is tiny, just six items. A friend asked to have the cilantro left off of his dish as he is one of many who cannot stand the taste. The server said that she would ask, but they do not like to make substitutions because they consider their dishes whole, and to take something away would mean the dish is not complete. It's not like he asked for a special order item. He just asked to have something that a lot of people hate left out.
The first 2 entrees took a very long time to come out. Then, they sat on our table and got cold as we waited at least ten minutes for the third person's entree to come out. Nobody ever followed up on the food, no apology for the wait. We were not offered more drinks until we had finished the entrees.
The food was not great, either. I had chilaquiles, which I've eaten all over Mexico and Atlanta. The sauce was bland and metallic. There was barely any crema or cotija cheese. I thought they had forgotten to add it until I found a small splash of crema on a couple of chips. The meat, pork belly, was undercooked, just a blob of fat, with no crispiness or browning. I ordered an egg on top, and it was overcooked, with a soft-ish but by no means runny egg. That is not how to make chilaquiles.
I might be back for rooftop drinks, but no way I'd eat here again.
Location is best feature, nice rooftop cafe overlooking belt line. Cool winter evening, so outdoor deck was unusable. Heaters not effective. Could use better system and enclosure.
We were early seating, and yet both the venison and lobster main plates were out, both the most interesting items on he menu. Service was friendly, but slow. Drinks good.
We may try it again, and give it a second try, but not a super experience for the $$.
We had a great time on Valentine’s Day. The food was very good, the portions are not huge but the flavors are great. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and the bar and crafted us some unique cocktails. The chocolate tart for dessert was amazing with an espresso with a little liquer in it! Definitely recommended. We ate inside due to it being a bit windy and cool but the patio looks beautiful.
Our server (and bartender) Jessica was outstanding and knowledgeable. The only reason why I’m giving 4 stars for food is because no longer serve the lobster roll and the oyster taco wasn’t available.
We showed up on time for an 11:30am reservation (which we had made weeks in advance) only to be told they don’t open until noon. No one took the effort to understand or rectify the situation - they just complained about the mess the previous party made and told us we could wait if we wanted. I wouldn’t put too much stake in planning ahead, seems like this place is better suited for the spontaneous.
Service was not great.
The place has a great roof view and very tasty food and drinks, plus latin music that make it unic in that area.
Unfortunately service is very bad and drinks over priced.
I was there on a Sunday for brunch, I made a reservation but table wasn't ready so they told us to sit by the bar, but then we saw an empty table, but it took more than 15 mts for a server to come to us, we missed the brunch for their poor service.
Great location and view. Food was good, but a little overpriced for what you get (like the black bean dip is great, but there's barely enough to scrape up with the few pork skins you get - black beans don't cost anything - put twice as much on the plate). My boyfriend loved his chicken with rice, but when I tasted it, the rice was crunchy. The venison tacos are a great idea, but they are a bit 1 note - they need a squeeze of lime or some added acid. Service is attentive and friendly.
It was awesome. The service was great, and we loved the food!
Tried a lot of small plates for a table of 6. The food was inconsistent. Some items were better than others. The kitchen has a very, very hand when it comes to salt. We sent back 2 dishes because they were uneatable. The server and manager were both very apologetic, agreed with us and quickly remedied the situation. That said, none of the dishes we tried would have us running back to this place to cure a strong food urge. The interior decor is simple but very comfortable. The outside seating with a view of the midtown Skyline is where it's at. Definitely a place we'd visit again when looking for a spot to eat off the ATL Beltline.
You're definitely paying for the ambiance here, which overlooks the Beltline. Drinks were great, as was service, but dishes are small. Maybe better for appetizers than a "meal." There's also no space to check in with the hostess upon entering the rooftop as you're run straight into the bar. I found the layout to be odd.
sitting outside was a plus but cocktails were average along with average food; fingers crossed it gets better as its a nice venue - downstairs - the lady with the plants - amazing! would go back to buy something there
