Food is excellent. Service is just as good. Light level and decor are great for a nice dinner without feeling stuffy or uncomfortable. However, there was more than one table of underdressed, slovenly, and LOUD people SCREAMING on the phone or to each other. It was bizarre. I would have expected them to lower their voices to each other and take their phone conversations outside. But they did no such thing. I know this isn’t the restaurant’s fault but maybe they could have asked them to keep their voices down? My sister and I were there for her birthday so we made light of it, but it was a real distraction and had I have been on a date or something it would have been very upsetting.
It was my brother's bday so I took him here for lunch. They brought out a cheese cake at the end of the meal at no extra cost. Excellent service and great for as always. That's why I keep coming back.
EG Steak is our favorite Brazilian steakhouse in the DFW area! Hands down the best salad bar and by far the best flavorful cuts of meat!
Service is as quality as the food. One of mt favorite restaurants of all time!
I'm a long time fan of Fogo de Chao, however I will now be going to EG Steak. Food was fantastic and service was excellent. I would highly recommend.
As always, EG did not disappoint. The first 15 minutes the meat was slow to come around, but once I asked the waiter about it, there was meat everywhere! And it was delicious! They have changed the way they serve sides, too. They use to bring every table a serving of mashed potatoes, fried bananas and polenta. Now they bring it around in big bowls and ask if you want some, which I liked. The salad bar is always fresh and amazingly well stocked. And the dessert we got... chocolate mousse amazing ness... we took it to go because we were so full, but ate it the next day and it was spectacular. All in all, well worth a visit for sure.
We're usually fans of EG steak. Tonight was different. The service was off but the food was great. We will be back but I hope it's like our other visits.
Been going since you opened. Hoping prices don't keep going up. It has limited our frequency of visits now that it is $46.50/person for dinner.
We had the most amazing server! Food was excellent. Will definitely be back!
Outstanding food and service. A bit pricey from initial view, but well worth it when we were dining.
Delicious food as always and the service was very good! We will be returning again in the future.
One of my favorite places!!!!
Wonderful service and wonderful food. We had went for another special occasion a year or so before and they knew our wine and what we liked!!
EG Steak is always a hit! The service was just as excellent as the food! Love coming here for date nights, or special occasions
Its been a while since my last visit, before the re-branding. The main reason for going here is the food, which doesn't disappoint. The food is better than Fogo, which I have visited twice in the last year. The Gauchos come more frequently and the meat just tastes better. Ambience wasn't great, but I had family visiting and we wanted to talk, and we had no problem hearing each other.
The food and service was outstanding!
I have been to EG several times. This last time was a massive disappointment.
First, the service, which is usually excellent, was slow and inefficient. We requested some of their au gratin potatoes and it took 20 minutes and 3 reminders to get it. When it arrived, it was a small ramekin of soupy, disgusting cream covering over cooked potatoes. Our empty dinner plates sat in front of us for 15 minutes until someone bothered to collect them.
Second, the food was just mediocre. The salad bar, as usual, was phenomenal. The steak, which is the star of the meal, was salty and the variety was very poor, that night.
Overall, it was a bad night for EG. I hope this was just an anomaly, because we really do like that place.
Excellent place to dine, great ambiance, outstanding service, great quality and display food
We loved every second of our experience. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. It was a good value for the amount of food provided.
This was our first time back since they changed names & the level of service has definitely declined. Instead of bringing you a plate of sides, they have someone walk around with them now. If you want a specific side at a certain time you basically have to ask for the server to have it brought around, ie mashed potatoes, fried bananas, cheese bread. Also, try to avoid sitting at the booths against the wall. It felt like they kept forgetting to stop by our table with everything. When they did stop, some guys seemed to have a harder time getting the right cook of meat that we ask for as well.
The wife left happy. The table was available shortly after we arrived.
Wonderful cuts of choice meats cooked to perfection, service was phenomenal, had a great celebration. Will be back!
We frequent EG and usually have a great experience. They have changed part of their service and our experience on Friday night was not great. They no longer put the bread on the table or the sides: fried polenta, fried plantains and mashed potatoes- so there are constantly people coming by the table- it was a bit frenetic and confusing at times. We constantly had to turn down plantains and potatoes and had to wave our waiter down to get any bread. A couple times we turned down the sides but got them anyway when we were trying to say yes to meat. The overall service which is usually very good was also quite poor. We didn’t know who our waiter was- My guess is the decline in table service is related to so many people coming by the table with more than just the meats. We really hope they evaluate this and go back to the traditional service.
This was my second time at this establishment, and I must say, my second time was just as amazing as my first time! The Salad was amazing, the Soup was amazing, the drinks were amazing, and oh my gosh......the meat.....I’ve never experienced such tender meat. To have 3 different ways the meat is Cooked on the same stick is just amazing! The service and greeting were both out of this world. This was my fiancé’s first time at this establishment and she was blown away. We will be visiting again. Thank You for an awesome experience and allowing me to give my fiancé an amazing dinner and a quiet atmosphere!! Keep up the great work!!!
Everything was great as usual!!! Thanks for the great time!! David and Alex always treat me like I’m at home.
Great as always
We were so impressed by the service and the food! We will be back.
Usually thing are a lot better. However, I walked in two minutes before my reservation was set for and checked in. Shortly after another party checked in after me. They were seated first. I had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated. The purpose of a reservation is to have a table when I get there and to see others come in after me and be seated first is frustrating. While eating, we were often skipped over or forgotten and sat there waiting to be served while others around us were served. We were there for over an hour, not because we were enjoying our time, but because it took so long for them to serve us. Don't get me wrong, when we got served, the food was good, not as warm or hot as it has been in the past when we've gone, but still good. I think the day we went was just an off day for them, because usually I'd be giving them 5 out of 5 for everything, we love this place. This experience just wasn't their best representation of their quality of service or food.
I have dined at EG since it opened as Estilo Gaucho, and it was once the best churrascaria style restaurant in the area. I had known the two owners, David and Alex, since their days at another similar restaurant. But things have taken a turn for the worse and I probably won't return. The wait staff was indifferent, aloof, and ghostly (i.e. once we sat they disappeared). The evening was partially saved by one of the managers, Odie, but even he could not pull it together. For a restaurant where you spend $$, service should never be an issue. The tips earned usually support a professional wait staff. Egregious service errors included but are not limited to: No explanation of the offerings, no wine list offered (I had to grab Odie to get one), and please don't bother anyone to ask for a recommendation. Generally indicative of the attitude throughout the meal. We have a favorite so not too big a deal. I guess there was no discussion of the offerings because we were only brought three meats. We asked for two others, which were given to us, but usually at this type of restaurant when you turn your chip to green, you have to beat back all the meat that descends on you table. The meat we requested, lamb chop and beef rib tasted like they had been heated and reheated many times. Also, it was 30 deg F outside but the AC was blowing on our table. We asked to have it turned down, but evidently our vent is tied into the vents at the Harvest Table, which has to be kept cold, so tough S for us. I guess we could have changed tables, but by that time it was already close to the breaking point for us and we did not want to move just to get up and leave. The crowning achievement was that I left a note with my cell for David to call me, as he had already left for the day. As I expected, he has not called. Good luck with this restaurant, there are plenty of these out there, I am planning to go elsewhere and would recommend the same to anyone considering EG Steak.
Overcrowding at the beginning due to overbooking with reservations and our waiter was double ear so another person was more helpful. Towards the end our waiter’s load simmer down and then he was able to be kore attentive.
It was amazing, my husband and I went for Valentine’s Day date night and our brother and sister in law showed up and we didn’t know they had planned on coming too, they seen the wait was over an hour so they were leaving and I had posted that we were there so they called and we had just got seated and our waiter was kind enough to get us a table for all of us to sit right away! I will be coming here for always ;)
We felt very rushed and every time we turned the "meat card" to green we were bombarded with Gauchos. Our waiter did not take the time to explain the concept to my husband (who had never been to a Brazilian Steakhouse). We were celebrating or anniversary and they did not make any effort to make it an enjoyable experience.
The weekend we visited EG was the 1st weekend after Valentine's Day. The restaurant was extremely crowded.
Everyone enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Service was great.
The food was excellent, the service was outstanding, We will definitely be going back many more times
We have been coming here for years but this past friday we went there for our anniversary like every year and we could tell everything has changed. There were a lot of items missing from the salad bar, the meats took forever to come around, the gauchos cutting the meat cut big chunks of meat and there were a lot of meats that did not come around to us and missed us. Also, the Brazilian lemonade drink was terrible. The meats were super salty and not as tasty as each time we had been there before. Also, even though we had a reservation we waited about 30 minutes because they were busy. What’s the point of the reservation? When our name was finally called the hostess took us to a table that hadn’t been cleaned yet. Overall, horrible experience and we won’t be coming back after this last visit.
The food, especially the meats, is outstanding. The quality of the beef especially brings to mind the finest of Argentine churrascarias.
EG Steak is always a hit. We often have celebrations here. The occasion this time was my guy's birthday. Our waiter 10 stars!!! The salad and soup bar is always clean, presented nicely and well stocked; we love the pickled beets. My guy looks forward to the lamb and raves about the flavor at EG's. I enjoy the garlic and spicy beef way too much! Our waiter was so kind to throw in a flaming dessert which he presented masterfully! We had to go to Total Wine after dinner to pick up the liqueur he used.
