Estia Taverna – Radnor
Food was good. Octopus was great this time. I’ve gone here and it’s hit or miss w octopus. I was so disappointed in the spanakopita-all crust no filling. Fish special was really good but they brought out different side then what we were told. Fixed it for us.
Greek salad so good! I’ll go back but they need some consistency -as I said it’s hit or miss w some of the options.
I felt cheated when the waitress up sold us a simple fish that turned out to be 90$.
5 of us enjoyed HHr & it was all good....we loved the menu, food & drink choices!!
Decent but VERY expensive
A good place for fresh fish nicely prepared. Somewhat overpriced for both food and wine. High noise level.
We will be back. The grilled salmon was better than we have had in a long time
Was there for Mother’s Day. Service was great, food delicious, beautiful place and everyone was friendly and accommodating
Excellent Greek cuisine. Octopus was delicious large portion good to share. Saganaki was also very generous. Had a nice Robolla with dinner. Busy but never rushed.
Always loved Estia! We took my friend out for her bday and everything was great until our waiter asked us to leave the table . We could not believe it!! I have dined many places and have NEVER been asked to leave the table . We understand tables need to be turned but the waiter was persistent for the check to be paid and then asked us to leave table. We were not hanging at the table that long, we weren't even done our dessert!! It ruined the nice experience we were having up to that point.
I would recommend the food but I feel the rushing of tables is not professional. I own a business in Wayne that deals with people and would never rush anyone out ...
I don’t usually write reviews. My wife and I were excited to go there for her birthday. We knew it would be expensive, it was, and we were fine with knowing that. I’d really like to go again, we both felt that way at least midway through our meal. We didn’t love our entree choices, but they were also risks for us outside of what we usually eat. The appetizers were good, we had the keftedes and the fried cheese. The feeling we had was that it was good to try them bc they were unique, but wouldn’t order again. It wasn’t anything spectacular and again the cost was high so maybe I was expecting more/better. For dinner my wife got the lobster, which we were told would be about a pound, but ended up being almost 2 lbs after we ordered so we felt we could not reorder. My wife was concerned about the price but I really didn’t have a problem with spending on this night. The biggest problem we had was that bc the lobster was large we decided to take it home but our server only packed half of it. We were missing a full claw which was at least a 1/4 lb if not 1/2. We felt cheated, especially bc of how fancy the place was and spending over $200. I should have packed it myself but when your in a place of this caliber that offers to pack you expect it to be done properly. Our server was otherwise fine. I’d describe her as fake friendly, but really she was informative about the menu and things came out timely so that’s all I care about. I ordered the prawn looking fish, I can’t rememeber the name but it was a greek specialty so I wanted to try it. It was very small for the price but tasted really good. I wouldn’t order it again. Our dessert was the salted caramel baklava, it was really good also but I would try for the cheesecake if there is a next time. The ambiance was maybe the best thing about the place. We didn’t drink bc wife pregnant. My side of orzo was amazing, sadly the best food we had there. The food we saw other ppl get looked very good. Oh wel
For someone who yearns for the authentic Greek food that my wife and I experienced during almost 3 years living in Athens, Estia is the place that we have found that comes closest to the "real thing". The Greek salad is so fresh - and almost enough to fill you up on its own; but, missing the chicken souvlaki would have deprived us of the wonderful experience of dipping our pita and chicken kabobs in the indescribably good tzatziki - all reminders of dining in Glyfada Square. (Even the bread and hummus are superior).
Of course, the prices for great food in Greece were a fraction of what you will pay at Estia Taverna - but it is located in Radnor. What's with the pushy service, though? Nice waitress, but she seemed to be unable to hold back the macho crew in the kitchen; they couldn't wait - even after we asked them to slow down. So, maybe you should expect a little bit of "attitude", though at the prices that Estia charges, they should allow their guests to relax and enjoy - like in a real Taverna!
Very good Sunday night spot
Will be back soon!
Very nice restaurant, ambiance and interior is amazing, the food was totally amazing!
The food and atmosphere were great at Estia. I will definitely go back. My complaint however, is why does open table ask if you’re going to be there for a special occasion, ask what it is and then the restaurant does nothing about it? We were there for 3 birthdays the host nor the waiter ever asked about it and some of the party had dessert and there were no candles. Just took what was supposed to be a special evening and made it slightly less than by not doing anything to celebrate the occasion.
Katie was great. Great personality and great at explaining the menu. The food was great. It took us back to Greece. Overall experience was great. We will be back again
Another great meal at Estia Radnor. We planned a lite dinner and sat outside. Perfect day and even more perfect food. Octopus app as always is the best ever anywhere. Brought some friends here a week ago and they agreed. Dolmadas still excellent filled with pine nuts and goodness. Tuna tartare was fresh with ripe avocados and crispy housemade pita chips...irresistible!
Exceptional and authentic Greek cuisine from someone who has lived in Greece and knows what it should be like. The quality of the food is unsurpassed, the servers are attentive and accommodating, and the ambiance is lovely. All in all, it is one of the best restaurants that I have been to and can compete successfully with any restaurant in Center City. Kudos to Estia Taverna!
Excellent food and wine as always and great service.
Our first time at the restaurant, food was incredible the service was great. Restaurant however was a little noisy. But we will definitely be back again!
service was less than in previous occasions.
did not enjoy our seating arrangement.
stopped for a quick lunch and made it quick.
my take out did not include my complete meal, dissapointed.
will return, however will be more direct with service.
I come here all the time. Minh is the best waiter!
And tonight we had our second best server experience with Elis. He too is very attentive and ensured that we were enjoying our dinner.
I love Greek food and this is a great place to get it.
A neighborhood gem in Radnor, PA within walking distance of the Radnor Hotel with a very diverse and extensive menu and wine list. They specialize in seafood from the Mediterranean and our appetizers and dinner entrees were perfectly prepared. We definitely will be going back again next time we're in town.
Our first time eating in this wonderful gem of a restaurant. There were so many awesome items on the menu that it was so tough to narrow down our choices. The Salmon & Lamb Chops were to die for. Juliano our server was so nice, very helpful in telling us how each menu item was prepared and just extremely attentive to our needs during our dinner ! Can’t wait to return & try our other appetizers & entrees on their awesome menu.
Easter and Anniversay meal
Could not have been better
Dined at Estia Taverna twice - one of the better restaurants on the Main Line (East or West). Fresh ingredients, nice preparation and presentation with attentive service. The dining room is comfortable, acoustics and noise levels are well muted unlike some comparable restaurants that seem more frenetic and not as accommodating.
I love Greek restaurants but this one just doesn't make it. There were two of us for a 8:15 pm reservation. Despite numerous available tables, we were put between two other tables for two rather than in a vacant booth or a table with more room. We ordered an appetizer for one of the entrees along with an appetizer and a regular entree. The appetizer was delivered with the regular entree with the appetizer ordered as an entree delivered 5-10 minutes later. Overall it was noisy, not very inviting, we were rushed when there was no need to rush, the service was wrong and the bill was much too much for all those things. it was more like being in a busy diner where they just run you through.
The food was excellent. We had Octopus and shrimp for appetizer and then Branzino and African prawns for main meal along with asparagus. The prawns, octopus and shrimp were amazing and fish was very good. The asparagus was just so so. The Baklava was also a average and a bit tough. However, the food is somewhat expensive so for value I have it a 3 star. Otherwise excellent.
Our service was excellent! The food was awesome! The price high for every week eating! Our party felt we’d come again!
Was with a group for lunch and was very short on time. Our server got us in and out in record time. We each ordered different meals and all 4 dishes were AMAZING! Food was excellent!! I will be back!
The food is always consistent. I love the ambiance
Great lamb chops, probably the best in philly. Grilled shrimp app and Greek salad were also excellent. Our server was from Greece and he was highly attentive and fun. Great evening. Highly recommend!
We enjoyed the food very much and will definitely return.
Great food and service like always!
Very professional and personal experience, once again!
Super loud, rude waiter, rude valet. For that price point, I expected a lot more
Our waiter was excellent. Great meal.
