Estia Taverna – Radnor
Food was excellent. Service was great. Wait staff was very helpful identifying food options for my friend who has a restricted diet.
Atmosphere is nice and open. Very clean! Greeted right away and taken to our table. Waiter came quickly to take our drink order. Food was excellent! It's a bit pricey but worth it!
spent a snowy sat nite at ester during restaurant week. It was def a price performer and the selection was very good. All the food was delicious and thoroughly enjoyed by whole party
Went for the restaurant week menu. $35 for three courses. Highly recommend the lamb chops
Always a treat at ESTIA.... great food, excellent service and friendly people. Never disappointed!!
The food is consistently great. Best Greek salad outside of Greece. Estia chips are amazing.
Best octopus ever. Also excellent crab cake. Entrees are large
We have eaten here several times and the food is always amazing. My only complaint this one time is that we ordered two fish dishes that were $31/lb and $30/lb. Our food arrived and both fish dishes looked identical and were absolutely delicious. Then the bill arrived and one of the fish dishes was $60! What??? The fish in that serving was 2 lbs??? Do you ever expect to eat 2 lbs of fish in one serving? Of course we paid the bill without any fuss. Like I said the dish was excellent, but not worth $60. Furthermore, it would have been appreciated if the waiter had informed us that 1 serving of that particular fish dish was 2 lbs and up. Would I go here again? Absolutely, but I'll be asking the weight of the fish in each dish.
It remains consistently great food and service.
Was able to get a last minute reservation. Hadn’t been in awhile. Absolutely delicious!
I like Estia, but I feel the value is not there. Entrees are over priced for the service, etc. They seem to never change their menu. I would rather go to Lourdas in Bryn Mawr.
We are coming back in 10 days for the restaurant week menu !!
The waiter was extremely reluctant to present the lunch menu and showed us the all day menu till one of us remembered to ask. The price difference is incredible. I find it disingenuous to offer a wide variety of lunch menu yet hold back till requested.
Great experience! Would definitely go back!! Zucchini chips were amazing!! Worth the wait!!
Our waiter was very attentive and as usual, the food was excellent
Amazing every time we go. Highly recommend the Grilled Octopus, and Swordfish Soulvaki. Estia Chips are amazing!
Very good food and service. The best octopus in Philly area. Been to Greece twice and the food here takes me back to those wonderful memories of Greece.
Happiest New Year's Eve dinner we've ever had! So much fun, with great music and wonderful service from our sweet waitress, Brittany. We enjoyed a seafood tower (amazing!) for three, plus delicious prawns, wonderful grilled salmon, terrific gelato desserts and of course those great Estia chips. Plus, nice to have a bartender who knows how to make a great Tanqueray martini.
as usual, food and service were excellent.
noisy New Year's eve atmosphere appropriately so!
The hummus is delicious! I recommend the Dover sole fish and Mediterranean salad. Absolutely love the lamb ribs. We love the food here!
We come here every Christmas Eve for dinner with our family.
It's a very festive atmosphere. Our waiter was great!
The dirty martini's are very good, our waiter bringing extra olive juice was a thoughtful bonus.
Food was just ok. We all got the swordfish which came on a skewer with a tomato and fennel, would have been nicer with peppers. Swordfish was oily but was a generous serving.
Always fresh food with great friendly service. Christmas Eve dinner and the saxophone player was an excellent addition! While it is usually loud in the restaurant, the live jazz in the background made it seem much less so. Another great night at Estia Radnor!
Christmas Eve!! Wonderful time 😊
We were seated then waited -30 mins before our drink orders were taken The waiter seemed overwhelmed. He returned awhile later and told us our drink order was lost.
We ordered starters and entrees, then our entrees came before our starters.
We saw little of our waiter and had to constantly remind him of missing items. One of us ordered a second drink, which never came.
We finally gave up and had our food boxed up. We have had many wonderful experiences at Estia- this was not.
I mentioned this to the manager on the way out and he did not offer anything by way of apology or to comp part of the bill. Very disappointing on Christmas Eve.
Sad to write this review - this is a restaurant I have been to many times and have always had a great experience. This review is not based on the food or table service. We never had the chance to experience that!
Made a 5:30pm reservation on Christmas Eve. The restaurant clearly states that they allow a 15 minute grace period and to call if you are running more than 15 minutes late. At 10 minutes late and about 5 minutes away, I figured best to call. I was told on the phone they would not honor the reservation if we did not make the 15 minute window. We would have to sit at the bar area. We made it there at 5:47 and indeed were told we would not be given a table. Did not matter I had called, they could not save the table an extra two minutes past the grace period.
I have never heard of such a thing! To be told we would have to wait a little longer or they would need the table back at a certain time I would understand completely. I worked as a restaurant server for 10+ years in high end establishments and have dined at 100s of restaurants, never have I heard of giving a table way and in NO way trying to accommodate the patrons.
The young woman who called herself the “front desk manager” would not let us speak to a higher level manager and kept repeating the same thing over and over. She did not care how upset we were or that we were regular customers. She was incredibly condescending.
Will not return barring an apology from the restaurant, none has been given thus far. Unfortunate holiday experience.
Not given a booth as requested. Food and drinks served too quickly. Charged a dollar for a pita.
The food is consistently delicious, freshly prepared, cooked to perfection and exquisitely presented. Service was impeccable...looking forward to our next meal there!1
Great service and food. Out of the wine we wanted but server suggested another that was very good. It’s a bit pricey but worth it.
Estia in Radnor is out go to favorite. We eat there every chance we get !
I had high hopes for Estia Taverna. We were looking for some more interesting Greek style seafood, and most of the choices were rather run-of-the-mill. If you simply wanted whole fish, there were some reasonable choices there. Other than that, there are too many "Greek Diner" choices like Moussaka and Spanakopita on the menu beside the $ 35- $40 seafood plates. We both had the grilled sardines which were delicious. My halibut, nicely cooked, was served with the ubiquitous ladlemono sauce (lemon butter), an olive tapenade, and garnished with an overcooked grilled tomato and potato wedge, and charred but nearly raw pieces of red onion, and bell pepper. My dining partner's lobster linguini was plated beautifully, but no different from an Italian restaurant. Not bad, but uneven and uninspired. And not as good as what I've had in Greece.
I love Estia. Great food, great atmosphere and top notch service. Great lunch specials too.
So great having an evening with live music as well!
Having a holiday dinner with friends. Food was excellent
And the service as well!
As always a great dining experience. Staff was attentive but not overly so to be a bother. Food was great and the wine was superb. While there are two locations, Estia Taverna is a must for a comparison. Both are outstanding, but Taverna leads by a nose! Thanks again.
Food incredibly delicious! Service by a knowledgeable, personable and efficient server was excellent!
Excellent in all respects
Food was tasty except coffee was not hot and desert was only fair. Still, I would go back
Overall very nice job. The wine we selected was a Pinot Noir for $65. It actually tasted no better than
a $15 bottle of wine. Very tart. Not smooth at all.
