Wow! I was so impressed by Estia. The grilled octopus was so delicious and prepared perfectly! The trio of dips with pita was also delightful. The dips also came with raw vegetables and olives. I really enjoyed my baby kale salad as well and my Mom loved her fish. My favorite part of the meal was the homemade Greek yogurt with Greek honey. Do not pass this desert by if you are in the mood for a treat. Make sure you have time when visiting this restaurant. Everything is made to order.
Great theater special - fish of the day was perfect and don't miss baclava desert
We went there because of its proximity to the theater and it was mobbed. Very good vibe with so many people. The fish was good but not great; I was told it was grilled but it tasted sauteed. The calamari was wonderful and my husband said his octopus was great too. The noise and crowd wouldn't have been very relaxing if we weren't going to the theater, but it was fine for pre-theater. The service was great.
I took my Mom for a quick lunch before ballet at the Academy of Music. The service was extraordinarily fast and the lunch was just perfect. Would highly recommend.
We were at a table for 6, but there were only 4 of us. Booth next to us was noisy, so conversation was difficult. Waitress did not bring bread in a timely manner.
This is unusual for Estia. We usually have a great experience. We will return.
Second time at this restaurant and it did not disappoint. Tremendous value and excellent food.
LOVE. THIS. PLACE! We've been twice, from 85 miles out of town, and have had an excellent experience each time. The ambiance is perfect, the food oustandung, and the service impeccable. I can't get back fast enough!
Good fresh fish, octopus was Great! Lamb was tasty. Beet salad with potato not my thing.
Very nice theater pre fix menu. Will definitely return.
Very accommodating and helpful. Just the right level of attention by wait staff. Food was excellent and plentiful
We had a fabulous experience. Brandon was our waiter and made our time at Estia the best! Thanks for the pen Brandon!
Couldn’t have asked for a better meal. Katie our server was great with her detail in all menu items and service.
We were here for daughter's birthday and before a show at the Merriam. The menu is delightful Mediterranean with vegetarian options. Service and ambiance is wonderful. A great place to go before a show or concert!
Food was delicious and well worth the money but our service was terrible. Our waiter ignored our table most of the night while he could be seen falling all over the other tables surrounding ours. Part of the dining experience is based on the service you receive. We may or may not be back based on how we were treated tonight
Superb food and perfect for any occasion
We have eaten here several times before a show at the Academy. We alerted the hostess and waitress that we were seeing a show, and needed to be done by a certain time. The waitress disappeared, for 15 minutes before taking our order (and didn't even stop by to say she was our waitress, and she'd be right back), and even though she said she would put a rush on our meal, it came out leaving us with less than 15 minutes to eat before needing to leave. We had to skip our dessert which was inclusive with the pre-theater menu. We will not be going back anytime soon; this was the second time this happened to us, before another show. Food is great, but the staff or kitchen were not timely, which seriously took away from the enjoyment of the meal.
Very accommodating to pre-theatre crowd ! And has a pre theatre price fixed menu .
My go to place pre or post theatre in Philly. Love the 3 course prix Fixe for $35. We akways enjoy all the choices. Service very good! This place never disappoints!
Post matinee dinner — FABULOUS, as always! Our server was super, as was the octopus and our entrees. This is certainly one of our most favorite restaurants and we look forward to returning SOON!
Estia is a great choice if you are seeing a show in center city Philadelphia. The freshly grilled whole fish is superb and well prepared and probably one of the best places to get freshly prepared fish, meditteranean style. Everybody was pleased with their selections! The appetizers are special and worth experiencing. We thoroughly enjoyed the flaming cheese and various greek spreads. Great service and ambiance! Estia offers sunday late lunch or early dinner dining before a show at a relaxed pace and the location is ideal and very close to all major theatres in philadelphia.
Have not been here in quite awhile.
Ordered memosa to start the brunch.
Women at my table all got coffee I had to ask for memosa
did not want it w/the omlette
It was not as good as New Orleans but ok.
Omlette very good, potatoes could have been warmer.
Bus boy too anxious to clear away the table & was constantly around our table..very annoying. We were @ tables for 4...maybe a dozen women came to brunch. Bus boy never left our area.
Good food, sub-par service. Overall great meal!
Great restaurant, attentive service, the food was exquisite, perfectly prepared seafood, always a memorable time
Food was fresh and excellent. Wait staff was fabulous and setting was lovely- a little on the pricey side but worth the money!
Excellent food and service.
Great selection of a restaurant in Center City near the theater. Excellent service and food. Healthy selections . Chilean Sea Bass was my entree and it was perfectly prepared. Nice wine selection from Greece and reasonably priced. A friend of mine is disabled and this restaurant was very accommodating.
This is our favorite restaurant in Philadelphia and we had our favorite waiter (Saki). We always have great service here but Saki is the best. We always let Saki choose our meal and he never disappoints. The country salad is a must have!
I have always enjoyed my lunches at Estia. They have good pre-show offerings. Love the Greek specialties.
Always our favorite before a show.... Actually, always our favorite!
A very consistent dining experience. A pre-theater regular for us that offers fresh healthy meals that have a wonderful flavor. Their Octopodi is delicious.
We bought a gift card for my parents' birthdays and they absolutely loved it! My mom is gluten-free and she was thrilled with her many options. They even served their dessert with a birthday candle! They were very impressed and so happy with their evening before the theater show.
This is by far the best restaurant I have had the pleasure of dining in in Philadelphia. The food was superb, as was the service. I loved the ambiance - everything was perfect!
Food and service were very good. We were looking for a nice, slow lunch before the show; this worked out nice.
Always love this restaurant. The seafood is always fresh and cooked to perfection. They have a great menu for pre/post theatre - 3 courses for $33. Great choices. The service is impeccable.
We were a few minutes late for our reservation, and we had a curtain to make. Our server promised to get us out on time, and he did - without making us feel rushed.
The food was excellent, and the pre-theater menu is a good deal.
Took my mom upon her arrival to town. I’ve been here before for restaurant week, which was a pleasant experience. This time....not so much. The waitress’ attitude sucked...very snobbish and unbothered...waitress came to the table maybe three times, maybe!
I found lots of bones in my fish but couldn’t address my issue because she never came back to the table. And when she finally did I ask about the bones and she said oh well fish have bones in them....really bish -_-
When I pay $200 for dinner, I expect dinner not to have bones in it....needless to say probably won’t be returning. If I did I wouldn’t sit in Ms Bish section...she surely came back quickly to collect the check. Haha I always leave a great tip but not for her, jerk.
We've been to Estia many times, though it had been awhile since our last visit. Dinner with 6 friends was an immense disappointment. Overcooked salmon (at $30) and barely fresh grilled tuna pretty much sum it up. That, plus ridiculously expensive glasses of wines ($13 for a glass of wine from a $15 bottle) or drinks adds up to... we won't return.
The service was very slow and our waitress seemed out of it, more than once we had to ask for the next step in the meal to be taken because it was taking so long and no one was approaching our table. The food was not very good, except the lamb chops that were good. It was very very expensive for the type and quality of food and for the level of service we had. This was the center city location however, the Radnor location is consistently better.
Food was very good and the service was great. Very attentive staff.
