We were at Estia Philadelphia for a pre-theater reservation. We were seated promptly and our waiter immediately asked if we had time constraints so that they could pace the dinner properly. We were also asked if any of our party had food allergies which, because one of us had this issue, was greatly appreciated.
The pre-theater selections easily accommodated everyone's tastes. The delivery was well-paced and we never felt rushed even given our time constraints. Everyone enjoyed each course and, frankly, no complaints come to mind. The food was delicious and nicely presented.
Wine selection also is fairly wide-ranging and it was nice to discover some new Greek wines.
Our waiter clearly was taking care of a lot of tables (we saw him working outside too!) but he was very aware that we had tickets for a show and made sure he got us our food, drinks, and bill on time and checked on us several times. He was really hustling! The food was amazing as always. My mom couldn’t stop raving about the spanakopita.
Great meal as always. Wish sea bass was on theater menu
Went before seeing Hamilton at The Academy of Music. The food was outstanding, our waiter was just wonderful as were the many other servers who helped to make sure we had an extra excellent experience. We had a cute booth with curtains and we felt so comfortable and were treated like royalty. Estia is one of my all time favorites in Philly, which has a great restaurant scene. The food was delicious and healthy. Can’t say anything about how great it was!
We have dined at Estia many times and never been disappointed. Always attentive service and great food! We chose the pre- theater dinner as we had tickets for a show at the Academy. Great meal!
Enjoyed a Post theater dinner with family, every thing we ordered was delicious and cooked perfectly! Highly recommended!
We had a birthday boy with us and were greeted at the door with a birthday card! Estia staff really care, the meal was divine and we thoroughly enjoyed it!
Best server - efficient - got us out for theater on time without feeling rushed and he was fun. Excellent food - loved the octopus and the mousaka is the best in the world!
Amazing food, great service. Despite being crowded the staff was present and attentive. Food was delicious and well portioned. Prices are what I expected for the city in the theater district. Staff was also mindful of whether you were attending a show.
As always Estia was over the top good and the service was over the top. We were going to be a few minutes late due to an issue with Uber and when I called to let them know, they were very kind and understanding.
We were early and they compensated and let us go to the table early. Our server was very cordial and prompt. The food was very good. Once again, we had he oretheater menu. The catch of the day was prepared beautifully. The Bloody Mary and gin martini were excellent.
We selected Estia because it is just across Locust Street from the Academy of Music; we were taking our grandson for his 18th birthday to see Hamilton. We arrived 15 minutes ahead of our 5:45 reservation but were immediately seated. Our waiter, Javier, became aware we were going to the show and was most accommodating. The noise level is quite loud but we were able to converse if we leaned in. Would not be good if you would prefer quiet intimate conversation. I had a couple Burnt Maker's Mark Rye Manhattans which were delicious. The octopus and squid appetizers were delicious. For main courses we had the Halibut, Lamb shank and Sword fish; each was excellent. At the restaurant's website suggestion we parked in the Latimer Street parking garage which is only a few minutes from Estia and Academy of Music . Was only $15 (cash) + tip and I've never exited a parking garage so quickly. Overall it was a great experience. We look forward to a return visit.
This was my first time back at Estia since before the pandemic and it was so good to be back! Estia is a great choice if you are going to the theater due to its location and also, the wait staff is very conscious of your time and works hard to ensure you get in and out in time for your show! the menu has a nice variety to choose from and they even have a specific "Theater Menu" to select from.
Really excellent food all around. We had offerings from the pre-theater menu, which provided a good selection. Service was prompt, friendly and respectful. Really enjoyed the octopodi (perfectly grilled) and calamari (wonderful tomato sauce) appetizers. My wife's fish dish as delicate, moist and flavorful and my lamb shank dish was robust and very tasty. Lemon sorbet was the right combination of sweet and sour. Walnut cake was a touch dry, but a good flavor. House by-the-glass wine selections were very good.
Our second trip in three weeks, but the best place we know of for a pre-concert meal. The theatre menu is varied, the prices are good, the service impeccable, and the pacing just right. Still one of our favorites in the center city area.
Our waiter was very helpful, pointing us to the theater-friendly menu, giving us excellent service, checking on our status for any needs, without being intrusive. Food was excellent, ambiance lovely, and the restaurant had accommodated my request for a relatively quiet location, as my companion requires hearing aids to converse. Lovely.
Food and service were both very good, as expected. Compared to previous meals there, pre-Covid, prices seem to have bumped up perhaps as much as 30%.
From entrance to exit our Anniversary went perfect. The server was exquisite, and meal was fresh and perfect.
Great place for a pre-theater dinner. $40 menu is good value and served quickly.
When attending a show at the Academy of Music or The Kimmel Center, Estia is so convenient. It helps that the food is delicious, the staff is friendly and efficient, and the room is beautiful!
Impeccable service. Perfect food
Great food. If you tell them you have a show they get you out in time. Great wait staff!
The theatre menu was great and the food was absolutely delicious.
Delicious food and outstanding service. One of the nicest spots to eat in Philly!
Decent but not great food. Horribly expensive wine list. Pre-theatre menu is a rip off, with entrees a fraction of the regular menu size.
I enjoyed dining at Estia and would highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates high quality Greek/Mediterranean food. I did order from the fixed price theater menu which had various options for $40.00. This included an appetizer, an entree, and dessert. Branzino was the fish of the day yesterday and was delicious.
Food was not the same
Great food… great atmosphere. I felt like I was in the Mediterranean. Will eat here again.
They do not take gift cards. We had anAmex gift card from our children and they refused it.
Lovely place, friendly wait staff, delicious food, but you can tell when they’re busy.
Their lamb chops are always delicious never disappointed ,service is great.
The food was excellent. We loved our meal and will be back!!!
Best visit to Estia ever, and we go there frequently. Our server Javier outdid himself and our table had an exceptional experience. Please thank all members of the staff that made our evening so special!!
We have dined at Estia multiple times and will do so again soon. Last Friday we had to move the reservation back, which was easily accommodated by the hostesses. My husband is handicapped and has difficulty getting his scooter to the table. Perhaps because we were late, we were taken to a table with tight quarters and in a busy section. Our waiter was efficient, but a little pushy about getting us to and from the table.
Our pre fixe theater offering was tasty, plus the oysters were of a nice size and taste.
My husband left his cell phone in the men’s’ room. When I went back for it one of the hostesses graciously went to get it. She positively refused the tip I offered her. What a professional young lady, a real credit to your staff
Disappointing. Appetizers were really small
And fish and shrimp were over cooked. Place was pretty empty so can't blame it on a busy kitchen. Not rushing back and used to be one of our favorites.
We had the best happy hour. We ordered pomegranate margaritas, Caesar salad, calamari, octopus and zucchini and eggplant chips. Bread with hummus.. everything was delicious! Great service! Thank you Estia.
Service was exceptional. We were meeting friends who are thinking about going to Greece and we wanted to just share Greek food and talk about places in Greece we had been. It was important to speak just talk and not be bothered too much noise, which is what we got.
I honestly think the lamb chops were the best I’ve ever had in my life
Great every time!!! Perfect for dinner before a show
