We rarely go anywhere else. The food is good, the service flawless, and IT IS QUIET!
Best in the city. Perfectly cooked lamb chops everything was mf delicious
Mediterranean Sea bass was inedible due to quantity of bones. Tables so close together that servers were bumping into our seats incessantly which made a most unpleasant dining experience. Manager had no response to our complaint.
This is my second visit to this restaurant. As I live in the Princeton nj area, I was here last year when I saw a show at the Merriam theater as well.
This restaurant is truly awesome in every way. The service, the food, the ambiance and the happy hour, it has it all!! The octopus appetizer is amazing, the lamb chops are absolutely incredible. We came for a bit of the happy hour and then sat down and had dinner. As it turned out, it was restaurant week so we went with that menu. The value was amazing and we will definitely be back whenever we are in the area. This is truly an amazing restaurant.
One if my favorite places in Philadelphia. Expensive, but worth it. Thumbs up all around.
This was our first time eating at Estia and it was fabulous! Our server was very helpful in suggesting the right amount of small plates. The Estia chips (and accompanying tzatziki) were amazing as were the grilled octopus, kale and beet salads. We will definitely return.
Awesome and creative Greek/ Mediterranean inspired food. Impeccable service. One of our favorite restaurants in a city of great restaurants and eating.
Great food. Great ambiance. The service was a little slow but it could’ve been because it was restaurant week and they had people coming in constantly. Would highly recommend!
We went during Restaurant Week. The choices were great for any palate. The spanokopita was the best I ever had. My husband had lamb chops, delicious and a terrific value. I had the whole fish which was excellent, very tasty and a good size. Baklava was so flavorful. Ambience is beautiful and service fine. Only complaint is noise level. It was not easy for conversation. The food made up for it.
We went in for Center City District Restaurant Week 2020 and were blown away by their amazing dishes. I personally do not like lamb and have never tried lamb chop before. But I knew that lamb chop was Estia’s one of the most popular plates so tried it and enjoyed it tremendously! Our server was attentive and their complementary hummus and bread was just simply amazing. Very tasty restaurant and will definitely come back.
without question, one of the worst dining experiences ever. long story short, my friend and i were seated at separate tables. it took 15 minutes for us to discover the error. i changed tables to join her on the other side of the restaurant. big mistake. horrendous service at tables near the bar. after waiting more than half an hour for food, the wrong food was brought to the table. both orders wrong. waitress left the wrong food in front of us as she paged through orders, skeptical it was the wrong food (duh) and then saw she’d brought the wrong orders. “oh, you DID order the mixed seafood! YOU’RE RIGHT!) FINALLY took the food away. returned to say the kitchen was putting a rush on our orders. but the kitchen is not good at rushing. it was more than hour before we got our food, served COLD, with a “salad” served was undressed. usually the kitchen dresses the side side salad in olive oil and lemon for us. it was served dry. but waitress had again disappeared, then reappearing chatting up another table. they were drinking martinis and obviously deserved her full attention. we were drinking iced tea. asked a bus person for olive oil. she said she’d tell the waitress and began to walk away. i pointed out the waitress was a several yards away. she did not go to the waitress. about 5 minutes later, waitress was still chatting, but bus person returned with olive oil as i was just about to ask for the manager. we ate. we were celebrating our birthdays. the restaurant asks if you’re celebrating anything when you reserve. i checked birthday. no one acknowledged our birthdays. and while neither of us seek birthday greetings from strangers, why ask if you’re not going to say happy birthday? why create an expectation? and instead of our conversation being fun, chatty, celebratory, we spent our time during lunch discussing the lack of food, bad food, bad service, etc. in a rare burst of sanity the waitress asked if we wanted dessert “on the house.” we didn’t.
The food was fantastic - every dish! The server was kind and attentive, and the GM was really helpful in recommending some additional dishes and deserts!
Would absolutely recommend! In fact, already suggested family members go there for dinner.
It was amazing! My friends and I went for restaurant week, and the six of us were given a private room to accommodate our group. Liz, our server, was very nice and did such a good job with our orders and questions. Great food!!
As is always the case, the service at Estia was terrific and the food was wonderful. We happened to be there during Restaurant Week and the menu selections were great.
Estia delivers fabulous food and service all year long but the fact that they do so during restaurant week makes them exceptional! The whole grilled sea bass and grilled lamb chops were outstanding as was the grilled octopus appetizer! Service is always welcoming, management presence keeps things flowing perfectly! Thank you for being the kind of restaurant that my family always enjoys!
The ambiance in this place is outstanding. Made me feel like I was back in Greece.
Great food, great service and the atmosphere was everything you’d want in a center city restaurant
Area Gem. Location is perfect for when taking in a matinee and then an evening performance on the Avenue of the Arts (Broad Street). Fast Service, always a Theater Menu (you dont have to wait for Restaurant Week) to enjoy an extermely fine dining at a reasonable price.
Great for Restaurant Week. Octopus and lamb chops delicious.
I felt on resturant week, the Sea Bass should have come with a little side of something.
The food was wonderful.
The server and the bus person were personable and excellent and kind
Good greek food and nice Restaurant Week/post Theater choice.
We tried Estia during Philadelphia Restaurant Week, and were all impressed by the high quality of the food and service. We will certainly be back!
Everything was perfect. The food was fantastic, the ambiance was great, our waiter was professional. A fantastic experience all around.
Service was great and the food was delicious. Portions were smaller than expected.
Food and service are excellent as always
Went for Philadelphia restaurant week with friends, had my favorite grilled octopus and sea bass, really delicious
Outstanding food and service. Especially the octopus and lamb chops.
Always excellent. Try the grilled octopus appetizer
This was the perfect spot to meet friends for dinner after theatre on a snowy day. The whole Mediterranean Sea bass was perfectly cooked, deboned and delicious. The tomatoe salad appetizer was fresh and flavorful with generous chunks of good feta. The custard in phyllo dessert was just the right ending with a good espresso. Oh, and the warm hearth baked bread with fresh homemade hummus to start was a lovely surprise. For $35 I doubt you will find a better, more comfortable meal in the city. Highly recommend.
7:30 reservation, wasn’t seated till a little after 8 pm. Every time I asked for status it was always “ a few minutes longer”. The waitress was not attentive , probably came by the table once to check on us and we had to flag her down to order a second round of drinks. It could be due to restaurant week for the huge influx of people and lack of attention from the wait staff.
Probably won’t be coming back anytime soon.
The restaurant week menu was excellent and so were the cocktails. The only complaint we had, was that the appetizers were served before our drinks. This is the second time this has happened at the restaurant. I asked them to take them back and the waiter was accommodating. A different staff member delivered the premature appetizers, and the drinks took a long time. We did eventually enjoy the meal, however.
Great! Half hour wait even with a reservation. Great food and service
Grilled octopus wasn’t up to the regular standard, lacking vinaigrette.
Table was in an awkward location and prevented attentive service.
Everything was cold and salty, this used to be my favorite restaurant but it has changed, I won’t be back.
Lovely restaurant on restaurant week... small portion good ordinary food but lovely place with very nice service
Participated for restaurant week.
What a fabulous meal with wonderful, Efficient, lovely service!!! First visit will definitely b back soon!!
Thank u 4 a truly delicious experience!!
