About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Neighborhood gem
  • Hot spot
Seasonal Italian Restaurant. Focused on Handmade pasta, bread and pizza. We get all of our products as locally sourced as possible.

Why they're an Icon

Executive chef: James Trees

From the OpenTable editors: When James Beard-nominated chef James Trees opened Esther’s Kitchen in 2018, he helped put the Arts District on the city’s culinary map. Now in a stylish new space with an open kitchen and whimsical animal wallpaper, the refined Italian spot still turns out the same wood-fired sourdough pizzas and knockout pastas (get the rigatoni carbonara with snap peas) that made it an instant Vegas classic.

It’d be too long to describe every bit of dinner that was excellent because every single piece was excellent. We hadn’t been back since they were in the old location during Covid. The new spot is awesome. Went upstairs to the “tree house” for pre dinner drinks while we waited for our table. A lot of great dishes on the menu to choose from. We had 5 or so and they were all delicious. A Wednesday night 10p the place was packed so a reservation is definitely necessary.

Incredible experience all around. Our server, Lydia was friendly, knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make sure our guest with food allergies was well taken care of. The food was amazing. Ambience. Decor. Everything was spectacular.

Food was amazing! Service was equally good! The ONLY problem is that it is very popular (for good reason!!) so there are lots of people in the restaurant - talking gets a bit noisy. Would definitely return to Esther’s Kitchen!!

This was the first time dining at Esther’s and we were extremely impressed. The food was great but the service we received was outstanding. Definitely would recommend this restaurant which offers quality food off the Strip

Based on recommendations from locals and online reveiws, I was excited to try Esther's; maybe I had too high ofexpectations. Our waiter, I think his name was Jacob, was fantastic. No complaints here. Four of us had dinner at Esther's and shared the following dishes. Calabrian Pork Sausage 4 out of 5 stars (good flavor but wouldn't order it again) Harissa Pork Cheek 4.5 out of 5 stars (good flavor, would order it again) Grilled Mary's Chicken 4 out of 5 stars (good flavor but very dry/over cooked) Pachamama Pork Chop 3 out of 5 stars (spices were good. IMO, too much fish sauce. WAY over cooked, very very dry.) Three choices sourdough bread w burrata, beet something and a blue cheese( 5 out of 5 stars Butter Lettuce Salad 4 out of 5 stars. lettuce was soggy due to too much dressing Duck Confit Pizza 4.5 out of 5 stars - would order again. Lasagna - Best dish. 5 out of 5. Very Rich Tagliatelle 4.5 out of 5 Passionfruit semifreddo - 5 out of 5 Cocktails were good. We brought our own wine. Will go back and try again in case Tuesday's kitchen staff was off their game.

Must try the butter spreads. Might not seem like a big deal, but they were worth it

The food was great! I ordered the chicken, which was juicy and perfectly paired with well-seasoned chickpeas and citrus leafy greens. This place is most definitely about how they pair things so well together.

Disclaimer: This review is mainly about the service. Our thoughts on the food will be at the bottom. Our first server who took a break was amazing, helpful, and nice. The second server who stepped in to help while the other girl was taking a break was extremely condescending, rude, not allowing us to take our time, rushed us, and extremely unprofessional. I wish I could rate this review higher, but as a first time visiting this restaurant, she genuinely ruined the experience I could’ve had. I visited many restaurants. Many with different flavors fusions, and histories. A lot of them being Michelin star and I’ve never had someone be this rude to me about describing flavors in a way like I’ve never experienced food before. This included a lot of “So YES or NO?” In combination with a super unpleasant face. This could have easily been fixed by instead saying “would you all like a little more time to look over the menu or I can answer any questions?” It is really a shame, and I hope to never encounter her ever again. Please help her be more professional to save new experiences for other people who are in my position visiting this restaurant for the first time. The food was amazing and the quality was outstanding. All of the dishes were very tasty.
