We waited 35 min to be seated for our reservation while the hostess was smoking a hookah. The food was good but was cold.

It was my first time & I thought that I would have fun. Ambience was nice and cozy. Music & Bar drinks were great & bartender was quick. Service was horrible tho. Hostess was very rude & servers weren’t worried about the guests. They were more concerned with turning up on the job lol smh … Sat at a table for 30 minutes without anyone coming to help or ask what we needed. Eventually got up & left. They seriously need to hire new staff cuz it has potential to be a great place.

I went on a Friday and wasn’t told you have to purchase bottle service to gain a table. Although the waitress let us stay, she was rude, not attentive, and our food was cold. I’ve been on a Thursday and loved the vibe.

I had reservations for 10:30 pm. My party and I arrived 10 mins early however we did not seat until 11 pm. There were 2 tables that had opened up while waiting. When we asked the hostess how much longer it would be, we were told the server didn’t want us in their section if we weren’t buying hookah or a bottle. It was only 5 of us there to celebrate my birthday and we just wanted to eat and bring in my day.

The music was not that good. The DJ kept playing “poppin my collar” like 3 times.

When we finally did seat, the server we had was nice and even took a picture with me for my birthday.

I’ve been to Escobar many times and have had so much fun. Which is why I wanted to bring in my birthday there. After this experience I will never come back and I will definitely not recommend this place.

We came for lunch. All the the servers were openly on their phones, lounging around. There were several dirty chairs and pillows, with some used plastic cups on the table. We decided to have 1 drink then leave.

We were visiting for the weekend and called way before time to make a reservation, but no one answered the phone for like a week straight. Then we were finally able to make a reservation for 12pm on Sunday. We were so hype walking to the door cause it was quiet , and we were thinking we were finna going to get in. Sikeeeeee. We were greeted at the door by a sweeping waitress. She told us they were not open…. And they open at 12pm and we were there at like 12:15pm. So we like ok so 12:30 we should come back? Smh the waitresses says I don’t know what time we’re opening and closes the door. Like huh??? No explanation. No empathy. No information what so ever. Just I don’t know. Well what I don’t know what Escobar is then. Nobody better ask me about it cause I’m gone tell them it’s an imaginary place, and don’t try your luck!

I had reservations for 9 @12pm. As soon as we get there they’re stopping us at the door & tells us that they are not opening until 1pm due to them running out of food the night before. Also, to set up everything.
No one communicated with me to let me know that my reservation would have to be pushed back.
I proceeded to comply and ask if we could get some type of discount off our bill for having to wait. She said she could do a round of shots. I didn’t want that, because I bought a bottle in the VIP section. Very unsatisfied with my stay here at Escobar. I will not be returning nor recommending this place to anyone. They were out of so many things. We could only choose from 3 items on the menu.
The service from one of the managers (a lady) was very rude. She kept getting snappy with me but I didn’t want to reciprocate that same energy because it was my birthday and I handle things in a different perspective.
The food was alright. My lamb chops were salty. The eggs were undercooked. The potatoes were the best damn thing there! Thanks for ruining my birthday brunch Escobar.. never coming back! :)

Waited an hour and half for our food. Seen others get served before us. Waitress wasn’t attentive and didn’t deserve a tip which they automatically charge. Was very disappointed and when we told our server to cancel our order she promised it was coming in 5 min and literally brought it right out. Very poor service and ain’t worth it!

I recommended Escobar to my friends because I have went a couple of times before and haven’t had a bad experience. This time around, the hostess seemed as if she did not want to be there, but her some other workers were sitting smoking a hookah. We were seated immediately, but our waitress took a good 10-15 mins to take our orders. She did inform us that there is 1 cook and it is taking longer for food to come out. So after getting our drinks we decided we wanted to order a hookah, but our waitress was nowhere to be found. My friend had to get up and go look for her and she was near the bar smoking a hookah! We finally get our food and the grits are stiff and has no taste, which I have had before and it never tasted the way it tasted yesterday. When we got the checks there is gratuity added and it is nowhere on the menu that it is automatically added. This will be my last time visiting Escobar. I was highly disappointed and embarrassed.

The only thing that stopped me from
Giving perfect stars, cleanliness could have been a little better, tables getting old and worn and chairs as well. They had flies and that was annoying. Other than that service was good, food was tasty and delicious! And the vibe was great!

I will not go to This place again. We made a reservation and got there 15 minutes before our reservation time. Yet, we had to wait 1hr 15 mins to get seated and it took another 1hr+ for food to come which one order from the party of 4 was totally wrong. The food was cold. The environment is so dirty with flies everywhere . The paper blinds on the window at the entrance has brown stains on them and puddle of water at the entrance inside the restaurant . The staff are nonchalant. We were waiting in line for over 1hr and I asked ‘why are we waiting this long if we made a reservation’ and the young hostess said ‘well everyone here made a reservation’. She just left us standing in line with no updates on when the table will be ready. The food is nothing to write home about and the place is very dirty. I will no recommend this place at all. Waste of time and space .

Made the reservation on the Open Table website and when arrived on my birthday 8/21 I was told that I had to purchase a bottle in order to be seated. This policy was posted no where on the website but the host told me that it was a new rule. I was forced to find another restaurant. I was upset that I wasn't able to enjoy what I've heard is the best restaurant in Atlanta.

First...When myself and my guest arrived the host had not clue we had reserved a table. Secondly, the website doesn't say that if you book 6 or more people you have to go to VIP and purchase 2 bottles that will cost over $600 not to include any food purchased.
The crowd was young (under 25) and the host was very rude!

Needless to say my party left and found somewhere else to celebrate my birthday!

The website is misleading and the crowd is YOUNG, LOUD and the HOST was VERY RUDE!

Never again will I try to support this black owned restaurant! Total waste of time for my birthday celebration!

Booked on Red Table for a party of 3 as a surprise for my sister’s birthday brunch. She’s a fan of one of the owners. We got there 15 minutes early, security approached us and asked for ID. I showed mine and so did my sister however my brother forgot his, security told me it would cost me $20 to get him in without a ID. I asked was the $20 going towards my tab, she laughed and said it was going towards protecting and serving.....Being an deputy, I knew it was wrong however today wasn’t about me so I overlooked it. Got inside and had to wait, no biggie as the music was nice. Once we approached the stand, the hostess must have been having a bad day as she rolled her eyes approx 72 times from the time we entered the doors until the time we left. I spoke to the hostess and let her know we had a reservation. She informed me that in ordered to be seated at a table, I would need to spend $225 on bottle service. Of course I questioned her because what’s the point of a reservation, right? She said you can find a spot at the bar.....clearly no spots were available. I explained to her that neither of my siblings even drink so spending that on bottle service would be a waste. She just looked at me as if I had 20 heads....Needless to say, if the requirement to be seated in this establishment is to purchase bottle service, include that in your description as it’s insane to get people through the door by reservation and then attempt to make them purchase a service. Spending money with you isn’t enough!? We definitely left. Needless to say, from beginning to end this is definitely one place I’ll never visit again.

This is the WORST place ever! You got the security guard on the outside telling people parties of 6 or more must buy a bottle. Get inside & the host tells us every table has to buy a bottle. There was only 4 of us & 1 doesn’t drink. When the reservation was made there was nothing saying you had buy a bottle. They are sooo unprofessional!
