Trashy with bad customer service inside and out.
The service was horrible. Took too long to get drunk then they were wrong and our server barely was around and tried to charge another ticket on my card. The food was good and the atmosphere.
I will not go to This place again. We made a reservation and got there 15 minutes before our reservation time. Yet, we had to wait 1hr 15 mins to get seated and it took another 1hr+ for food to come which one order from the party of 4 was totally wrong. The food was cold. The environment is so dirty with flies everywhere . The paper blinds on the window at the entrance has brown stains on them and puddle of water at the entrance inside the restaurant . The staff are nonchalant. We were waiting in line for over 1hr and I asked ‘why are we waiting this long if we made a reservation’ and the young hostess said ‘well everyone here made a reservation’. She just left us standing in line with no updates on when the table will be ready. The food is nothing to write home about and the place is very dirty. I will no recommend this place at all. Waste of time and space .
Terrible, had a 12pm reservation and still wasn’t seated and hour later. This was a birthday brunch, we left.
The ambiance was nice and the food was good. I didn't like that we were made to purchase a $250 and up bottle and then charged $42 in taxes and $42 in gratuity.
Service was horrible. Took us 1.5 hours to get our food and the server only came go our table 3 times in 3 hours. We had to flag her down for everything. Drinks were not flowing as they should have been. Hookah was great. Food tasted good and vibe was great.
Made the reservation on the Open Table website and when arrived on my birthday 8/21 I was told that I had to purchase a bottle in order to be seated. This policy was posted no where on the website but the host told me that it was a new rule. I was forced to find another restaurant. I was upset that I wasn't able to enjoy what I've heard is the best restaurant in Atlanta.
It was a good atmosphere but the wait time for food after placing the order took 2 hours. Very disappointed.
First...When myself and my guest arrived the host had not clue we had reserved a table. Secondly, the website doesn't say that if you book 6 or more people you have to go to VIP and purchase 2 bottles that will cost over $600 not to include any food purchased.
The crowd was young (under 25) and the host was very rude!
Needless to say my party left and found somewhere else to celebrate my birthday!
The website is misleading and the crowd is YOUNG, LOUD and the HOST was VERY RUDE!
Never again will I try to support this black owned restaurant! Total waste of time for my birthday celebration!
My party( the men) were patted down before entering and there were people smoking pot outside the building. We did not venture into restaurant.VERY sketchy!!!
Great place for brunch! Food, music and drinks were perfect.
Booked on Red Table for a party of 3 as a surprise for my sister’s birthday brunch. She’s a fan of one of the owners. We got there 15 minutes early, security approached us and asked for ID. I showed mine and so did my sister however my brother forgot his, security told me it would cost me $20 to get him in without a ID. I asked was the $20 going towards my tab, she laughed and said it was going towards protecting and serving.....Being an deputy, I knew it was wrong however today wasn’t about me so I overlooked it. Got inside and had to wait, no biggie as the music was nice. Once we approached the stand, the hostess must have been having a bad day as she rolled her eyes approx 72 times from the time we entered the doors until the time we left. I spoke to the hostess and let her know we had a reservation. She informed me that in ordered to be seated at a table, I would need to spend $225 on bottle service. Of course I questioned her because what’s the point of a reservation, right? She said you can find a spot at the bar.....clearly no spots were available. I explained to her that neither of my siblings even drink so spending that on bottle service would be a waste. She just looked at me as if I had 20 heads....Needless to say, if the requirement to be seated in this establishment is to purchase bottle service, include that in your description as it’s insane to get people through the door by reservation and then attempt to make them purchase a service. Spending money with you isn’t enough!? We definitely left. Needless to say, from beginning to end this is definitely one place I’ll never visit again.
This is the WORST place ever! You got the security guard on the outside telling people parties of 6 or more must buy a bottle. Get inside & the host tells us every table has to buy a bottle. There was only 4 of us & 1 doesn’t drink. When the reservation was made there was nothing saying you had buy a bottle. They are sooo unprofessional!
The OpenTable reservations are advertised on your site as a no deposit/no bottle service option but when customers arrive it’s a completely different story. It’s a requirement that each table buy a bottle which a minimum cost of $200. You pay at least $20 a person before you enter this “restaurant/wanna-be club”, and parking is crazy. Better find a spot in the distance otherwise you’ll pay 40-60 before you even put your feet on the ground and no I’m not talking about valet. This place is a joke. You’re better off going to an actual club to spend money like that; at least they will have cushion seats and not metal stools.
Made a reservation & the host told us we had to wait another 20 minutes (I was fine with that). We ended up waiting 1 hour & decided to leave because we obviously were not going to be sat.
The food was excellent but the hostess was very rude and disregarded that I had a reservation and arrived on time for my time slot and she continue to assist someone who name she couldn't find in reservations and did not properly seat us pointed to a spot to sit and did not warn us that this is where the DJ set up is in this little bit of space next to our table. Our waitress i think her name was Sydney she was very polite and took care of us and the food is the bomb but parking is side street someone window was busted out glass on the ground the location could be better. For the most part it's a good vibe spot but definitely would recommend taking an Uber or Lyft for transportation. Only a chill spot or a great kick back would not recommend for a birthday spot or gathering like that. The seating is terrible have sofa like seating with tables that come to your knees lol that was a MAJOR NO FOR ME!
We arrived for our reservation on-time and was seated promtly. The noise level was like being in a club. We didn't mind the music but in order to give our orders we texted it to one person and let the person on the end give the order. The food was horrible. The grits were extremely runny and the fish was dry. We had to ask for napkins because none were provided and we had to ask our server several times for the same items to be brought out to us. It was just not a good brunch experience for my daughters birthday.
Loo was the sweetest, and took care of all our needs.
My fiancé came in for brunch & the waitresses half cleaned the tables and seats. Seems as if they hadn’t been clean from the night before. Also, there were flies flying all over where we were sitting. We had to fight them just to enjoy our food.
The restaurant opened late therefore there was a bit of a wait to get seated. And then asked to leave early (about an hour later) due to being seated in the area where the dj needed to set up! I was still eating and also paid full price wasn’t even compensated for the inconvenience.
The establishment was extremely hot and humid. There was a fan but it wasn’t on.
They do not honor reservations when it’s crowded .
We had a reservation for 4 for brunch on Sunday. When we arrived, we were told reservation or not, all tables were bottle service. We needed to purchase a bottle or pay $100 to sit. Nowhere on Open Table nor anywhere else is this stated. It’s unfortunate this establishment has decided to take advantage of its patrons and those who made reservations. We decided to leave and visit another black-owned brunch spot nearby.
Food was delicious took a while to come out. They sat us side by side to other people which was annoying (especially during covid) but the food was worth the wait when we got. It. (The menu on the website was not the menu we were given). The menu was very limited.
Loved the ambiance. The lamb chops are a must. Wish they had something like this in chicago.
Never again will I attend this place. Unprofessional, false advertisement, host were very rude, place was not clean.
terrible waitress, terrible attitude, poor customer service.
First off, they tried to hustle us for $20 to park in the street, security for Escobar co-signed for that nonsense, secondly, we had a reservation which we booked two weeks in advance, once we got in they were telling us to pay $40 to sit at the bar or mandatory bottle service if you want a table, major rip off!! We have been there many times before, NEVER did we have this issue. For as long as they run business like that we will not be returning. This place is not an establishment that requires bottle service.
Made reservations. When we got there they wanted us to pay $225 to sit and eat because we “didn’t pay for the reservations”. Paying for the reservation on open table wasn’t an option. Paid $40 for valet just for them to tell us to pay $225.
That place was a disappointment I visited to celebrate my birthday I wanted to sit down and eat and drink with friends but when I got there I was told that I had to pay $20 per person to get in and in order to have me a table even though I had reservations I had to order the premium bottle which is around $370 I wish Those details would have been put on line when I made my reservation
The environment was great. The food was not very good. The salmon croquettes was extremely dry. The lamb chops had ZERO flavor however the fried catfish and grits were bomb. I didn’t like that our server told us that everyone at the table had to drink the same flavor mimosa even though we all paid for bottomless or that if 1 person out of our group didn’t want to do unlimited mimosas that no one at the table could. First time dining at Escobar and was extremely disappointed. As a bartender of 10plus years I would not recommend
We made a reservation for 4. Showed the reservation to the hostess who proceeded to tell me its first come come first serve and there would be a 45 min wait and that tables start at $250 with bottle service. What is the point of the reservation??????????????????
I had to rate something to properly review. I didn't experience anything other than the nice hostess. The website did not mention that it was mandatory to pay $80 along with my reservation for 2. I'd expect this at a club but not for brunch where there's a full menu and an advertisement of $20 bottomless mimosas online.
This is a great spot for a group of people ready to get drunk and POTENTIALLY eat the food off of the advertised menu because I didn't smell or see food. I was hungry too 🥴.
The false advertising alone is poor quality service. The website is great and the social media brings customers in, but it's false when you actually show up. Do better my highly melanated people.
I'd recommend Escobar Club and Tapas to my party people ready to spend money on dranks and hookah, but not Escobar RESTAURANT and Tapas. That's not what I saw or what was explained when I got there.
I reserved a reservation for 6 people a week ago for today 4/24/21 at 2:00pm. I received a text verifying my reservation in which I responded to. When I arrived to check in, the hostess informed me that all tables were bottle service. I told her that I had a reservation and that was not listed nor stated in my confirmation. She then states that in order to get a table, I would have to buy a bottle. I agreed that I would buy a bottle even though I personally do not drink but others in my party do. She asked me what bottle I wanted to buy. I told her the Belaire Rose for $150. The receptionist then stated that I had to buy a bottle that was $250. I declined. The hostess did not offer any resolutions only to say that several people had told her about making reservations and that there was a bottle requirement. I surveyed the restaurant and it did not look as if everyone had bottles on their tables. This is unacceptable business practice. This was my first experience at this restaurant and to be denied service after booking a reservation is ridiculous. I hope that this business reforms their methods so that better customer service will be displayed.
I booked a table of 6 and a friend booked a table of 6. They would not seat us because they wanted us to pay for bottles and VIP even though we told them it would be fine if we don’t sit together. Do not waste your time going here.
First time here & first time visiting Atlanta & I Loved the food & the environment
When I got to the restaurant for my reservation I was told I couldn’t be seated without buying a bottle. This was not told to me when I made the reservation and it wasn’t listed anywhere on line. They told me we could only sit at the bar. Well the bar was completely full and I stood waiting for someone to get up. As I was waiting the hostess got upset with me for standing around. So I decided to just leave. This was an awful experience.
I had reservations for a great night out it was my friends birthday weekend and we came all the way from North Carolina and it turned out to be not so good. They did not take our reservations but said to sit at a tabe you have to buy a $250 bottle. There was noone inside everyone was hanging outside where there is so much construction going on people were in the streets just hanging out. It was ruined So yah we went to AppleBee's.
Made reservations 2 weeks prior and the reservations were not honored. Host continued to let me know it would be a 45 min wait and we tried to explain we had reservations. Never experienced the food and was highly disappointed to come off the road for 7 hours to be turned away. Ambiance was very urban with a very young crowd.. we went around the corner to Frost bistro and the atmosphere and food was amazing
