This was our second time dining at Ernesto’s and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Our appetizer was the mussels in a delicious broth, definitely worthy of sopping the bread in. We all had different dishes, which we all loved. My son had the sea bass which he raved about. He gave me a taste and I’ve already decided that this is the next dish I’m having when we return. I had the sole oprincipessa and it was delicious and my husband had the veal Ernesto that was very tasty as well. The service was great and the owner stopped by to see how we were doing-I always think this is a nice touch. If you haven’t dined here yet, I definitely suggest that you do. You won’t be disappointed!
We were a party of 4 and ordered Fried Calamari and a Stuffed Artichoke for aps. For dinner the order was a Grilled Pork Chop with sautéed mushrooms, onions and sweet & hot peppers, Chicken Sorrentino & two orders of Veal Cutlet Milanese. Desert Homemade Cheese Cake. All food was top of the line. We also had a great Italian bottle of wine and a bottle of Prosecco, both recommendations by Dylan and both were a hit. Have eaten at this restaurant many times over the years and it never disappoints.
Ordered Chicken Principessa. Menu states chicken breast sautéed.. was served two fried cutlets with sauce and two peas. Very disappointing.. not a lot of choices for healthy eating. Won’t go back.
Ernesto’s was a local gem up until Ernesto’s passing. Dylan and his staff have done a wonderful job honoring Ernesto’s legacy with their friendly service, outstanding food (the same chef remained) and reasonable prices. The new owner, Dylan, is a gem and appreciates his customers. You can’t go wrong.
The food at Ernesto’s east was good but the service was horrible. We had to ask numerous times for the menues and after 1/2 hour we received the menues. We didn’t seem to have a particular wait staff so everything was very disorganized. We also had to ask numerous times to get the check. Overall a very unpleasant experience and very disappointed.
the food was very tasty, but 2 of the 4 entrees came out with sauce and toppings that we wanted removed. the service was a bit confused.
The owner Dylan was attentive and kind. His wine recommendation was delicious and gave us a complimentary aperitif after dinner.
As it was our first time dining at Ernesto’s, we were pleasantly surprised and will be returning sometime soon to enjoy another lovely meal.
A must go restaurant. The entire evening was perfect in every way. Sensational food with very warm and appreciative owner, Dylan.
Great gem right in Glen Head. Wonderful norther Italian. Especially enjoyed the stuffed, baked artichoke. They had a talented musician playing which only added to the ambience.
Dylan is an engratiating host; his care given to each guest makes you want to come back. Food was great! We are going a Tuesday night whichwe believe is, Music Night. Try it.
Because of covid, it’s been a while for us, but Ernesto’s hasn’t missed a beat. The food was delicious as always, happy to make adjustments (Shrimp Fra Diavolo over sautéed broccoli rabe was a hit!) and Dylan went above and beyond to insure a sweet celebration for my daughters birthday. It was good to be back!
Very impressed with the owner, who called on the phone earlier in the day to check on our dining needs - I had mentioned I am vegan and he wanted to make sure that I had options I’d be happy with. Great service and really good food -we will definitely return. Five stars!!
Dylan is an excellent owner and host. Food was served hot and delicious . Don’t pass this one by
Great little restaurant. Been here over a dozen times and the food never disappoints! A must try!
Dylan, the owner, was super nice and very welcoming. Restaurant has a a nice small atmosphere with good food and great staff. Will definitely go back.
I’ve never had a bad experience here. This place truly offers a great selection from the menu and I was so glad to find out that they were able to retain the same chef they’ve had for years pre pandemic. All good things about Ernestos
We’ve been here previously. A new, young owner took over about 1-1/2 years ago, but kept the same menu and chef. Service was a bit spotty -the waiter hardly waited for us to sit before asking for our drink order and spouting off the specials in breakneck speed, and then we had to wait a long time for the appetizer and meal to arrive. But the food was delicious, and worth the wait. We were thrilled, and decided this was going to be a new ‘favorite’ place — until the owner Dylan had the absolute GALL to come over while we were barely halfway through our dessert and ask us to LEAVE because the next reservation had arrived and was waiting for their table.... WHAT?! When he saw the looks on our faces, he immediately said “I f—ked up; I should have never said that”. My husband reminded him that he will learn with time, but that was terrible business practice, especially since the length of time we were there was no fault of ours..... and that he would never see us again. To add insult to injury, I had to return to the restaurant with my receipt for a refund of the dessert charges which we had been told would be ‘on the house’..... To pay over $200 for a meal and be essentially ‘thrown out’ was beyond wrong.
The food was excellent... the service was spotty. In the beginning they were great then they kind of forgot about us and then it got a bit better...
An absolute gem of a restaurant, in center of town. Cannot go wrong - food is top notch. Great service as well.
What a hidden gem this is. If you love an old world classic family Italian restaurant atmosphere with amazing food this is your place. The staff could not be nicer and the service was great. The menu was diverse and they had an array of specials as well. The manager Dillon could not have been more personable and gracious. We are adding it to our list of staple places to go for Italian. Not pretentious, just down to earth and and delicious.
