   This is a must try winery/vineyard. Let me start by saying I made reservations via OpenTable for a tasting. Google indicated it was closed, but decided to go anyway. I am so glad we did. Wines were tasty, Spencer was great. The wall of Hemingway quotes are a good conversation starter as well as funny and interesting. Great Cabernet. Don't sleep on this tasting. Maybe call ahead to be sure. We were in the area so no issues to try even though Google said closed. Spencer provide information on each tasting as well as some history on Hemingway. He was a great host. He provided recommendations for dinner several we had heard of or had tried, however; he did promote Ernest Hemingway's Steakhouse. ( he would be a poor dog if he didn't wag his own tail) We decided we would try. He called the maitre'd Stephanie, who was very accommodating in getting us a table, as the place was quite busy.    What could have been a disaster turned into the best date night in recent memory.... all thanks to Ernest Hemingway Vineyards! Reservations: Between Covid Protocols and Staffing shortages, most of the wine tasting world has moved to a reservation required system. I made my reservation at Open Table. Upon arrival there was a closed sign on the winery driveway, however the tasting room doors were open and lights on so we proceeded. We were met by the owner Daryn who welcomed us into the tasting room. We then found out the winery is currently closed however Open Table mistakenly opened them up for reservations and we had slipped in. If you make a reservation between March-May 2021, verify with the winery's website or google listing that it has reopened and that Open Table didn't make a mistake. The winery has received unfair negative reviews due to Open Table accepting reservations when the winery is closed. Customer Service: Given the reservation error and the winery being closed, we offered to come back another day but Daryn insisted we stay. He was so generous that he led our tasting himself, walked us around the property and shared his visions for the future. I can't speak higher about the fact that Daryn gave up his Thursday evening to provide this level of customer service for 2 people, opening bottles and buildings in the middle of a 6 month tasting room closure. While we didn't meet any of the tasting room staff or other employees, the hospitality of the owner leaves no doubt that a superb guest experience is provided by his staff, I can't imagine he settles for anything less. Due to limits on Open Table's reviews I'll be posting my full review on Yelp if you'd like more information. Bottom line: If you come to Paso for wine tasting before May 2021, mark this place for your next trip & follow their social media to find out the exact reopening... until then we have to be patient. But I for one will be first in line at opening day, hope to see you there!

   This restaurant was not open and there was a communication failure between the restaurant and open table. We booked a reservation for ten people and received a confirmation text the day of our dinner. We drove four cars 20 minutes with a party ranging in age from 3 months to 94 years and showed up to find out that our dinner would not be happening. It was a holiday weekend and we had no options whatsoever. This was extremely disheartening and debilitating for our family reunion. This threw a wrench into our entire weekend and I was very upset that I was let down in this way .

   The place was closed. Open table let us book it and we drive all the way there from the coast only to find the gates locked. Their website said they were closed. Google maps knew they were closed. Next time I use open table I’ll check with the establishment and google. I would like a response for this comment please. We wasted a lot of time on a very hot day!

   Well I hate to slam Hemingway because I love them but we showed up and they were closed due to some issue with their well. We found one of the owners and spoke with them and we were told that they had been closed for a while due to this issue but I guess someone dropped the ball regarding turning off Open Table so you couldn't make a reservation. We made the reservation a few weeks ago so to drive out and except to have lunch and have some great wine was extremely disappointing especially having visitors with me. The co owner made no effort to take my info for future visits I will try again when my friends return for a visit because I do love their wine. Just wanted to vent about my experience

   The vineyard was closed for renovation. Someone forgot to tell OpenTable. After confirming the reservation online, we showed up and no one was there.

    We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Hemingway’s. The food was outstanding! The decor and ambiance was just our style! It reminds me Of a chic European club lounge. The wine was spectacular. We joined the wine club. Already looking forward to our next visit 🍷🍷 Spenser is an amazing host! Nicole was delightful. We had such a great time, we canceled the appointment we scheduled for after and stayed here until closing!
