Eric's Italian Bistro Ratings and Reviews
There main dining room was too small so we asked to be seated in the bar room, very nice room but the tables were awkward because the were loose and rocked back and forth so they gave us another table, now our 3rd table. Service very good. Food just ok, I had the shrimp scampi, 5 little shrimp and risotto which was not great. My husband had the vegetable ravioli with butternut squash and he didn’t like at all. Sorry 😐
Great classic Italian restaurant. I judge Italian places by their Chicken Parm and Eric's was pretty good. Loved the Corn chowder with shrimp soup. Nice personal touches by the staff to greet you at the door and to give a warm good night on way out, plus the chef coming by our table.
Cozy, beautiful ambience with delicious Italian cuisine -- Grandma's meatballs and sausages are terrific, and the boneless chicken scarpariello was amazing. The tilapia and shrimp Francese was also excellent. Very generous portions for Restaurant Week. Desserts were scrumptious!
We have been here several times and Eric's has NEVER disappointed. Excellent traditional dishes and exciting daily specials keeps bringing us back. The Octopus appetizer and their Grandma Meatballs are a must order items. The decor is classy yet modern casual. The wine list is larger than the usual Garden City selections at other places. Friendly "family" staff is always welcoming. Highly recommended restaurant!
We have been here several times and we continue to be impressed each time. The food was excellent. I had the special fish which was filet of sole piccata which melted in my mouth. It was accompanied by capellini cakes that had a slight pesto sauce.. My husband had his usual roasted vegetable(butternut squash) ravioli which he always loves . The others in our party had shrimp scampi and coho salmon and also felt their dishes were delicious. The service was excellent and the staff very attentive. The atmosphere is very comfortable. Although it was fairly crowded the tables are spaced sufficiently apart so that it is easy to enjoy your own conversations. Will definitely continue to come here.
Entered the restaurant and immediately noticed outdated decor. Musty smell throughout. Received menus immediately. Waited 10 minutes for waiter to follow up and take orders. Took an additional 10 minutes to receive bread. Immediately removed "Specials" menu after informing the server we had a Groupon. Too many Groupon restrictions. Didn't get Opentable points either. Owner is apparently fearful he'll make a dollar or two less on this visit. We will NEVER return despite a pretty tasty meal.
Second time and last time we eat there. Thought we would give it another chance - won't happen again. Food was adequate at best - the service was below average. There was as an issue with my wife's vodka and tonic.
The drink came back yellow - and tasted horrible - we mentioned this to to server and he said that tonic is always yellow with a little bit of an attitude. He then came back with another drink and had the tonic in a separate container which was yellow - later on he mentioned that we weren't the first customers to complain about the color of the tonic. Maybe yellow tonic is acceptable somewhere but it looked ,ore like tonic that went bad.
This was my first-time visit Eric's Italian Bistro and actually it was intended to be an advanced visit (accompanied with two friends) to assess and evaluate the restaurant's service, food, ambiance, cleanliness, noise level, etc. with the thought of returning for an evening meal with a larger dinner group in August. In that respect, I have given it a solid "thumbs-up" rating.
What a nice place!! It's much bigger and elegant than it appears from the outside. We all loved the food and ambiance. The service was spot on...charismatic and professional. Wide selection menu with something for everyone. Eric's will see us very soon. Chef and owner George was the perfect host. Thanks!!!
Consistently good food with excellent service. George is a charming host. The entire staff is friendly and professional. You must try their bone-in chicken scarpariello, lasagna, mussels and meatballs. Never disappoints. They have two separate rooms. The dining room is cozy and elegant. The lounge side is more casual with TV screens yet still classy. A must try.
I was lucky enough to book a last minute (Saturday Morning) reservation for a party of 17 for Mother's day to Eric's Italian Bistro. Not only was the waitstaff kind and helpful but the owner (?)/manager came out and spoke with our family. It was lovely. It was booked but the service was prompt and correct. It made for a very happy mother's day for all. I live very close by and have driven down that block a million times, but now I will stop in! Thank you Eric's for making what could have been a rather stressful afternoon, easy like Sunday morning!
Took a chance on Eric's - had never been there nor had I heard anything about it. And it's in a storefront on a main road - no parking is always a negative. However, there were spots out front. Food was very good, and the service was excellent. Reminded me of a place I would go with my grandparents. Good, solid Italian food. Plenty of it. I doubt it's been renovated since the 70's, but it wasn't dowdy - it was clean and charming. I would recommend.
This was our first time dining here and we were not disappointed. The menu is varied and the chef is accommodating to each person's food limitations. The staff is professional and attentive. I had a delicious shrimp dish with a wonderful risotto . All dishes are prepared fresh. The décor is elegant. The restaurant is much larger than it appears from the street. They have ample parking in their parking lot that is a plus for the area.
This restaurant was notable because nothing at all was special. Food was ok but nothing stood out. While the wait staff was pleasant and accommodating the service was slow and the restaurant was not packed. I can find no reason that would motivate me to want to return.
