Usually very good but tonite a bit off. I had a special....lamb shank with risotto. Shank was all bone, not much meat, too much thick brown gravy, lots of risotto. Shank was very disappointing I'm sorry to say. Calamari was ordered for the table......don't think they were cleaned well, several cartridge pieces were found.
Dinner at Eric’s is always a lovely experience. The service is attentive without being intrusive and the food is consistently delicious.
Just awful. I don’t understand the positive reviews. The food was, at best, average. My veal was over cooked and tasteless.
The service was terrible. The waitress asked us twice if we were ready to order our dinner before we ordered/ received the bottle of wine we ordered. The waiter who opened and poured the wine neglected to pour wine in the taster’s glass after pouring in the other three glasses. I needed to tell the waitress how to open the second bottle of wine. Servers/busboy constantly passed the table without removing plates that were completed. No offers of cracked pepper for the Caesar salad or grated cheese for the entrees. When I asked for cheese for my veal Parm and spaghetti, the waiter gave it to me, never asked anyone else if they wanted cheese and left the table.
The dessert sampler.....we think came from BJs. It was gross and took at least 15 minutes to be delivered to the table. The coffees came with what we think were Pepperidge Farms Milano cookies dusted with powdered sugar.
Fantastic. The food and service. Can’t wait to return
The food was excellent and the service was better.
Staff is friendly! Glad we final went!
We ate at Eric's Italian Bistro during "L.I. Restaurant Week." The restaurant was very crowded and the noise level made speaking to my table mates impossible. The food was very generous and the waiter, Frederick, was very efficient and friendly. The pasta that was ordered was very ordinary. While the sauce was delicious, the Porkchop Eric, was tough and still pink in the inside. I would not go to Eric's Bistro again.
We had a wonderful dinner! This food was excellent and the service was amazing!
A neighborhood gem with an absolutely outstanding menu ranging from classic Italian dishes and pastas to standard fare of steak and fish. Our party had entrees that included lobster, eggplant rollotini and branzino each of which were outstanding. Warm bread and complimentary bruschetta were an added treat. Linen tablecloths, napkins and attentive and friendly service added up to a great evening. Great wine list and full cocktail menu all at a very reasonable price.
Another wonderful meal at Eric's!
Special holiday menu with plenty of choices.
Food was perfect. Friendly attentive staff (true family run business).
Great New Years Eve dinner.
Were we seated and shortly after taking our order they seated a very large party (18) next to us which made it cramped and Very Noisy
The staff is like family very attentive and charming
Terrific food. Great wait staff. Always reliable. Great local spot.
Excellent food and service. Will definitely be back
I wasn’t thrilled with my veal parmesan however I am usually happy with my choices here in the past. Service was a bit slower because of restaurant week. Friendly atmosphere and varied restaurant week menu.
The most amazing marinara sauce! Maybe even better than Grandma's!
We like to eat at Eric's on occasion. This date was because of Long Island Restaurant Week. Menu is usually very good. I ordered from the Main menu and my wife from the Restaurant Week menu. Caesar salad was very good - fresh and flavorful. My roast duck was good - raspberry sauce topped off. Sweet potato was so-so. My wife's pasta was excellent. Special Restaurant Week dessert was excellent. The wines - a reisling and a pino noir - were very good. We'll definitely go back.
We were greatly warmed and received friendly service but the service was slow. It could have been the first day of restaurant week but wouldn't you staff accordingly?
Enjoyed the nice menu and the crab corn chowder soup was delicious and served in a cute little soup tureen.
A nice touch!
This restaurant is excellent in every respect. We asked for a quiet table location which was honored, and our server was animated in describing specials. Everything served was well presented, and we thoroughly enjoyed the meal, and the staff. The owner came to our table to ask about the meal at the appropriate time, and is clearly proud of his establishment, as he should be. Make it a point to visit and enjoy a great meal.
Absolutely delicious. Great service. Classy room. Will return very soon.
You need to go here! This was our second time & excellent, yet again!
The food is amazing with the flavors & presentation, but the service is impeccable. They really make you comfortable & tend to your every request!
Thank you again!!!
My third time. Food mediocre. Pricey, Doubt that I'll return
This restaurant was a great find. I’m pretty picky and I can’t find one negative thing to say. Food, service and ambiance were all excellent. We will definitely be back.
The restaurant had an overwhelming smell of fish upon entering. The staff was friendly, but we noticed that the bartender also served as a waiter, and for a Saturday evening there were only 2 other parties being served which is unusual for the area. The drinks were good, but the food was mediocre and overpriced. There was also no attention to detail; the menu was uninspiring. This restaurant unfortunately offered little reason to return.
Service was a little slow. Food was OK - not great. The lobster bisque was tasty but thin - more of a consommé than a bisque. The shrimp scampi and risotto were good. My broiled lobsters were over-broiled and dry. Desserts - cannoli and the sherbet - were very good. While I would recommend Eric's, it is more for the friendliness of the personnel rather than the excellence of the food.
Eric's Italian Bistro is a great restaurant! Reasonably priced, elegant, friendly, great food, great service. A little known gem!
We came for and ordered lobster, and just as the salad arrived we are told no more lobsters. They would/should have known this and should have told us this info immediately after we ordered!
Their apologies and comp (only after we requested it) were so so - they offered us after dinner drinks, which we needed like a hole in the head
Very quiet - reasonable prices - very friendly staff - excellent wine recommendation.
Would definitely go back.
Great service and food!
I ordered raw oysters and clams. Clams taste good and oysters just ok. I wander why they don't put it on top of ice. At least, I felt better.
Always great food delivered by attentive and charming wait staff. Guaranteed that all diners will enjoy their pick from the menu- everything is delicious!
ERIC'S IS ONE OF THE BEST RESTAURANTS ON LONG ISLAND.ITS A HIDDEN GEM .THE OWNER IS ALWAYS THERE MAKING SURE THAT EVERYTHING IS PERFECT
My family and I had a nice time. Food is great and the portion sizes were big. We brought food home with us.
Excellent marinara and trditional old school dishes. But it doesn't stop there. We enjoyed an outstanding Coconut Crusted Alligator meat appetizer. Their Chicken Scarpariello is by far the best we ever had. A must try.
Food is five star. Service is terrific. Go to place.
Service was great. The dishes were large and parking was easy. Over all nice experience
My first time here - for Restaurant Week. I will definitely be back!
The food was terrific, the staff was very customer friendly and my family enjoyed the entire experience. We are now thinking about hosting our daughter's confirmation there next May. A great dining experience...
Although quiet for a Saturday night (a last minute choice that had a table at 7-7:15) the service was rather slow and with only a shared appetizer and 2 mains were not finished until about 8:45.
Bread basket not worthy of a good Italian restaurant; cold rolls, soft (not crusty/crunchy) Italian bread, commercial flats. A very "mini" complimentary antipasto-a couple of slices of meat and hard, cubed cheese.
Chicken marsala, something I have once a year, was disappointing. Cloying sauce, ok chicken, larger than expected chunks of mushroom. Side of pasta with the marsala sauce was average.
Wife asked for eggplant rollatine to be very light on the mozzarella; it wasn't and she scrapped off much of it.
Dessert choices were varied but we opted not to try. Saw many topped with strawberries which neither of us like. Maybe that swayed us.
Basically the quality of a neighborhood restaurant behind a pizzeria.
