I do not live in DC but whenever we are visiting DC we ALWAYS make it a point to eat at Equinox. It is one of our favorite restaurants in DC. I would give it a 10 if they had that option. From the food to the service to the original creative menu they have never failed us. It is also a very comfortable atmosphere and they make you feel like family. A shout out to Chef Todd Gray and his wonderful team.
The fusilli mushroom pasta was great in the beginning but the taste began to be overwhelming. Perhaps a gluten free pasta for the future. Every bite felt like it was missing something. The bass was rubbery but the vegetables accompanying the dish made it bearable. The drinks were the highlight of the meal.
Still the best vegan brunch in the city!
Excellent food and exquisite service. A gem of a place that I will definitely go to again
All of the food was delicious. The fritters were my favorite. The chickpea fries were really good as well. The vegan cheesecake was the best I've ever had.
The food was good but the service was off. Courses came in the wrong order, which was odd as it was all a preset tasting menu. We had to ask three times for more bread as they served 1 slice of three varieties of bread for a party of three. Lastly found it the mixture of family style dishes and single courses didn’t work. One family style grouping was pasta with mushrooms and the other was pancakes with maple syrup- liked both, but you had to eat both off the same plate - with maple syrup running into the pasta. Hope they get the service sorted.
I've been to Equinox many times and service is always friendly and good and food excellent.
Service is amazing and the food is incredibly inventive
It was a wonderful ambiance and the food was outstanding! We are definitely returning soon!!
This was our first time and we were blown away by everything. The service was phenomenal, the food was extraordinary and the ambiance really made our evening. They even took us a half hour early when we arrived. Would definitely recommend.
Food was nasty and overly priced. I would not come here again.
Food was excellent. Special was a truffle pasta dish which was outstanding. Everyone at our table ordered different main courses and all were excellent. Can’t wait to go back after a year of no inside dining—this was our first time after being vaccinated.
Patio is so quite and relaxing with lovely view of city. Makes me happy to live in DC
The food and service were very good. The seating was well thought out and I was comfortable the entire time. I look forward to my next visit.
Great atmosphere and food
Amazing vegan brunch as usual. The service is excellent, the food is delicious, and there’s always something new and interesting to try! This is our go to brunch spot for celebrations - this time a birthday. In addition to the brunch, we ordered mimosas for the table, a bottle of champagne and raspberry pomegranate juice for $35 - really great value for the quality of this place!
The food was nuanced and delicious but the service really blew me away. They went above and beyond resulting in an exceptional experience.
The food is also outstanding. Seasonal fresh and inventive. Chef Is a master and his team the perfect accompaniment.
Love this restaurant so much! Attentive service. Amazing food. Great plant based offerings.
Once again, we had a superb meal at Equinox from start to finish. The menu is inventive without being the least bit weird, the cooking is superb, the service was perfect, and the ambience is delightful. The salmon Wellington was outstanding. Highly recommended!
Wife is Plant Based and had the jambalaya. I had a salmon Wellington. Food was very tasty although a bit overpriced. Service was extremely good. Very friendly staff was very helpful.
This was a great spot for my birthday dinner. The waiters were great and helped me make the most of my day!
We enjoyed our visit. While we enjoyed the shift to plate service, we look forward to the return of the buffet!
There to celebrate the birthday of my vegan wife with her and our two adult children. Great ambiance, great service. The only minus was the changing menu. I had hoped to have the beef which was on the menu at the time of making the reservation but was not there upon our arrival.
We had 2 evenings in Washington DC and felt really lucky to have chosen Equinox for our last evening. The food was delicious and the service was even better. It has a homey atmosphere while doing a beautiful job of safe distancing. I was my birthday and they made it extra special. Thanks Equinox!!!
Delicious food (some of which "happened to be vegan"), & attentive service!
We had the 5 course wine pairing dinner which was fabulous!!! Cheers to Chef Todd Gray- he never disappoints!
By(i)ron, was on point/knowledgeable/pleasant, he really took care of us and went above and beyond!!
The food was absolutely amazing!
Excellent plant-based food on Sundays, great service
Best food ever. Go here for every special occasion!
Pretty good overall. Had a few things gone better, I would have been extremely impressed. The food was great. Ambiance was decent but could have been more romantic.
I chose this restaurant for its ability to cater to vegans and food allergies. The Valentine's Day menu was not great. Only 2 food options that worked. Now, I will admit those two options were really good. But, I chose this restaurant hoping there would be many options.
The waiter was not quite sure of the menu it seemed and it was impossible to deviate from it. I was slightly frustrated and embarrassed to know that my date had very limited options. At one point the waiter didnt know enough about my entree that he stopped talking midway through his explanation, said enjoy and walked away lol. Now I thought it was funny but it was not a shining moment.
Based on my experience here on V-Day weekend. I would not visit on another holiday where they limit the menu. The food was very tasty and for that, I would visit again when they are using their normal menu where vegan and food sensitive people can have more options.
The 3 course meal for 2 including 1 alcoholic drink with tip was $200. The experience was not worth $200. If I paid $150 I think that would be fair. If I paid $100, I would feel that I robbed them.
We always love Equinox. The staff are just the right amount of solicitous, they really know their stuff and the pace set by them is just right. Of course, the meal was superb. All plant-based and all amazing! Equinox makes a very good name for Veganism! Thank you!
It’s always a delicious and delightful dining experience @ Equinox. I’m never disappointed there. The food’s always fresh and seasoned to perfection. Warm, inviting venue with attentive staff. I shall return.
Was there for restaurant week. Food was good and portions were generous.
Amazing!! We were seated out in the patio and the staff and environment were so warm (despite the 30 degree weather). If anyone is scared to dine out right now, the staff and procedures at Equinox should put you to ease. From their outdoor dining space to consistent mask wearing, everything at Equinox made this feel like a top notch experience. Not to mention the food. Like, wowow. Very good! The tasting menu was a delight and the vegan dessert was the perfect way to end the night. Well, that title is actually tied with our server who gave us a complimentary drink and helped wish us a wonderful new year. He pointed us in the right directions and helped us choose only the best food and wine pairings. He really made the whole experience feel safe, sound, and simply amazing.
The whole dining experience was so wonderful it almost felt like I was in 2019 and eating out my favorite restaurant where the staff knows me and everyone is smiling. Except it was 2021 and I was trying a new restaurant outside in the cold and everyone was just so gracious and kind that I couldn’t help but feel welcomed.
Great food. My party enjoyed dinner. We plan to return.
It was great. Food was very good and service was excellent, as usual.
The service was fabulous but the food was average and the wine was not a good pour for the price.
Went for DC restaurant week, food and wine as a whole was exquisite. Our server was also very nice and provided great wine recommendations.
