Loved the vegan brunch. It had a wonderful variety of items and the service was wonderful.
Equinox is understated, but surprises with excellent food from a very vegetarian friendly menu. The thoughtful and professional service from the wait staff complement this special experience.
Outstanding service in a warm environment. The food was artistic, flavorful and perfectly seasoned. The fettuccine with truffles was well balanced and perfectly al dente. The duck seared with crispy skin and pared. A real gem of a restaurant. My clients were impressed and appreciative of the entire experience. Would like to see a larger wine list through.
Absolutely love Equinox. We are regulars here, whether we're enjoying dinner or their amazing vegan brunch. A true vegan haven.
Had an amazing brunch! Food was amazing!
Exceeded my expectations! Food was delicious and service was spot on.
Unbelievable dining experience, as usual-Equinox remains our favorite restaurant in or outside of DC/ any area. ...'breads and spreads' ...the pancake area, fruit pancakes made on the spot...salads / fruits and greens...soup of the day...a vegan version of an egg/muffin...the dessert area...different entrees each week...tofu scramble/ 'omelettes'...healthy and different drink options...the gourmet samples Chef Todd brings around to every table...much work goes into making sure all these things 'work' and come together, and Ellen and Todd are masters of pulling it off to create the perfect vegan brunch .
Eating at Equinox is always a pleasure. Delicious food, wonderful service, lovely ambiance, and it is actually a place where you can have a conversation.
I dined there this past week with girlfriends, wanting to treat a vegetarian friend to a fine vegetarian dining experience. We selected tasting menus with wine pairing. The food was delightful; it is the service that lowers my overall rating. The staff were plentiful, efficient, and experienced. Granted it's the holidays and there were several large parties at the time, but the service was notably off (uncommunicative, compressed, detached - at the end like they just wanted to go home and we were far from the last patrons). Specific issues: We received the wine for a first course well in advance of the food without any word from the waiter; utensils for a subsequent course were delivered well before finishing the present course (with my fork in midair), and before finishing the dessert course we were handed the bill without a word. I have dined there occasionally over the past 15 years, and it was always the best experience. We were disappointed in the service.
This restaurant is a must if you’re in DC. We did the plant-based tasting menu. The wines were wonderful and all of the dishes were creative and delicious.
Always a wonderful experience dining at Equinox.
Food and service were perfect. Christmas parties meant the noise level was high though, which detracted slightly from the experience. I love this place though
Nice quiet atmosphere. Good food with quality vegetarian selections. Decent wine. Could not understand half of what the waiter was saying as his english was broken. Overall, I would definitely recommend and will return.
The plant-based tasting menu was AMAZING. Each course was superb. We highly recommend this wonderful restaurant. Chef Todd is the best!
Always outstanding in every way.
My favorite Sunday Brunch spot. Best vegan food.
Really enjoyed our celebratory dinner at Equinox. The food was fresh and appealing.
We were looking for a restaurant with a good selection of vegan and vegetarian options and Equinox met out expectations. We tried all 3 vegan entree options and they were excellent. My dish had fried tempura vegetables and buckwheat noodles. Usually I don’t order fried dishes but decided to try this one. The tempura was lightly fried and very flavorful. Not greasy or heavy. The serving size was reasonable. Not too much food. Service was great. The wait staff are very attentive. The dishes are pricey. Dinner for 4 with a bottle of wine and tip was $315 but well worth it for a special occasion. We will be back!
Fabulous vegan brunch on Sundays! The entire family - meat and non-meat eaters loved it!
I wish their menu had more choices. There were 3 vegetarian and 3 meat entrees to choose from. The wine list was small. I also wish there were more non-U.S. wine choices.
Great food and awesome service. Excellent vegan options
Fantastic option for both the vegan and omnivore eaters in our party. The Thanksgiving menu had multiple options in each courses for all diners.
The food was passable but nothing memorable and much too expensive. Ditto the specialty cocktail, which was mostly ice.
Second visit to the Sunday Vegan Brunch and was even more pleased with the delicious food and selections. An avowed carnivore, I took my wife and vegan daughter and we were all thrilled by the taste of all of the food. There is something for everyone and you will LOVE the buffet. While not ready to give up meat, I will be back for their brunch and definitely will try out their regular fare. I highly recommend this restaurant.
My wife and I went for the all vegan Sunday brunch. Amazing food with a wide variety of great vegan options. We were a little skeptical of it being a "buffet"....but the food that is displayed is in small quantities so it is frequently updated with freshly made options straight from the kitchen. And $35 per person for all you can eat of healthy vegan food is an incredibly reasonable price as well. My wife also has a gluten intolerance and there was still plenty of brunch options for her to try as well.
Would 100% recommend going, the food was AMAZING!
Very disappointing experience. We have been here before with much better experience. Tonight we ordered homemade egg noodle fettuccine with truffles as one of the special entrees - fair at best. Slow service and not worth waiting.
Sides were the only saving grace (brussel sprouts and truffle mac and cheese). Appetizer grilled calamari and other entree quail at our table was average at best. We will not go back.
The execution on the menu was excellent. The plant-based options and meat dishes all received high marks from our guests. Wine list is somewhat limited, but approachable and well-crafted.
The food used to be good, but now it is becoming boring or not so interesting. The quality of the service is very low, waiters are rude. They took my credit card from the table before bringing the check. The add 20% gratuity directly to my check just because they saw I was foreign. What if I wanted to give them 15-18%? Rude and unkind.
Went to Equinox for their vegan brunch buffet. It was absolutely fantastic. It catered to both the vegans that actually enjoy veggies (veggie forward items) and for others that want either analogs or "regular" brunch foods. I totally recommend this for both vegans and people that just love to brunch.
We received a gift card and had never heard of equinox but decided to use it for our anniversary. In the special requests and comments box on open table I just wrote “anniversary.”
Our waiter was fantastic. Perfectly friendly, knowledgeable, great timing, we felt well taken care of but not imposed upon. He poured my wine heavy to finish the bottle and indulged me in a “half-ish pour” later in the evening because I couldn’t do another full glass.
They didn’t make a deal about the anniversary at all when we came in, which was completely fine, I don’t like a big to-do, but when we ordered dessert they brought us each a glass of champagne, a handwritten card for each one of us, and they brought out the desserts with a candle in each and small happy anniversary chocolate signs in the confections. By that time we had really spent the evening with our waiter end it was a much more comfortable and appropriate gesture for a quieter couple like us.
It was expensive, so better for a special occasion, but we would definitely go back.
Amazing meal. We decided to pick a few appetizers as our dinner. Great decision
I had the quail. It was very, very salty. I was with out of town guests, and chose not to say anything or return the dish. Huge disappointment.
A fantastic vegan brunch. Great value! Will come again often.
One of the best dinners hands down! Excellent and attentive service. Food preparation and presentation was beyond expectations. The freshness and thoughtful cooking techniques awakened the palate! Chef Todd Gray is a culinary genius that will not disappoint.
Delicious food, perfect service
The service was very attentive and accommodating, the food good, not great - very subdued flavors overall. I choose this place because I know it's been around for a while, and I recently learned that they have a fair amount of veggie options. However, I found the menu kind of limited, with the two veggies mains pasta based. My husband pointed out that the decor had a bit of a 70s vibe, but not in that ironic hipster way. I loved the amuse bouche (always a nice touch) and I LOVED that I didn't have to raise my voice to converse. I like my music loud at shows, but I hate to yell when I eat! I will return to try out the vegan brunch.
Went for my husband’s birthday. Everything was perfect. The menu had a good vegan selection for me to chose from while I watched him devour the lamb dish. The service was top notch. This restaurant is definitely on our “must eat here again” list.
Love the idea but was disappointed there were no gluten free items on the menu — bread, a scone, a cracker, or a dessert! Pastry chef brought me some survey which was a nice touch.
