I am longtime patron who enjoyed the meal and experience even more because going out to dinner has been the extreme exception during the pandemic. Everything was first-rate and very pleasing.
Came for restaurant week. We tried the Spinach Rigatoni & Grilled Octopus for our first course and the Pan Roasted Duck for our second course. Everything was delicious. I've been here once before and came back just the the greens served with the duck. Overall fabulous menu and great staff.
Family dinner out- rare occasion. Food excellent . Waiter excellent BUT we waited 20 minutes to see our waiter after dessert to get our check - and it was not busy / no waiter in room at all . The worst part of the dinner was an undeclared 3.5% credit card service fee- isnt that illegal to transfer fees like this to the customer?
Top notch sophisticated food w great fish and vegetarian options
From start to finish the experience was excellent. Staff super friendly and accommodating. Food was delicious.
Wonderful brunch. We enjoyed every bite. We felt well spaced out from others in the restaurant. The staff were all wearing masks.
Amazing food, great vegan brunch, and lots of food to get your money’s worth! By far the best vegan/plant-based brunch option in DC!
Great food! Great staff!
They were understaffed but we waited 1.5 hours and still hadn’t gotten the first course so we left
Incredible meal! We will definitely be back next time we’re in town!
We had a splendid NYE dinner at Equinox! We chose the 5 course plant based option and it did not disappoint. Everything was flavorful, vibrant, and delicious. I’d highly recommend checking this restaurant out. They also have a great ambiance with plants and romantic lights.
Our New Year’s Eve dinner was outstanding with wonderful vegan and fish choices. We were seated in the atrium which was lovely and much more attractive (and quieter) than other parts of the restaurant. Our waiter was prompt but seemed oddly disengaged. There was no one and, as far as we could tell, no place to hang our coats, which is strange in a restaurant this expensive. But given the food and the ambience in the atrium, we would certainly dine here again.
This is our favorite restaurant for date night! The New Years Eve vegan menu was delicious!!!
The New Years tasting menu with wine pairing was amazingly delicious.
Tasting menu was only ok, bland. Not well-cooked. We were disappointed after reading many great reviews.
Delicious NYE 5 course menu with generous portions. Loved the plant based options!
It would have been a better experience if we could have been seated on time but not almost 45” later bc they couldn’t ask the diners to please leave so others can enjoy.
Felt rushed between appetizers and first course.
Waiter not very attentive.
Equinox is a hidden gem. The menus cater to vegetarians and carnivores alike. The food was excellent, well seasoned and generous portions. The overall ambience is warm and inviting. And the service was exceptional.
Our dinner at Equinox was generally great. We ordered one market tasting menu, one plant-based tasting menu, and one a la carte selection of appetizer and entrée. Equinox is one of the few restaurants that is well prepared to accommodate both vegetarian and carnivorous appetites, and all the courses were excellent. Service was very attentive, with one exception.
When we arrived, the hostess quickly and efficiently seated us at a table. However, about a minute later, the waiter told us the hostess had made a mistake, and we had to move to another table, so we did. About a minute after that, the hostess returned and told us that the waiter had made a mistake, and we had to return to our previous table. It was like a scene from Fawlty Towers, if you’re familiar with that show. Anyway, it was embarrassing, inconvenient, and a poor start to our dinner. From an upscale restaurant like Equinox, I would have expected a free aperitif or dessert, a modest reduction in the bill, or some substantial token of apology. But we got nothing aside from the quiet “sorry” that was thrown in each time they moved us back and forth. Which is why this rating is four stars instead of five.
Appetizer tapenade with special bread was wonderful beginning. The veg tasting menu (5 courses) was without exception awesome, with some surprising and wonderful wine pairings.
Vegan tasting menu is beyond scrumptious. Highly recommended.
Best brunch anywhere in DC! 8 courses, great environment, attentive waiters and waitresses, and the food is delicious and not overstated. Highly recommended!
The vegan brunch was delicious! Service was excellent will definitely be back
We did the vegan menu and the market menu subbing the duck for the salmon. The food was amazing, the servers were very kind and the wine pairings were perfect. The ingredients were all so high quality without being too rich.
The only little hiccup in the food was that it wasn't mentioned that there was pork sausage in the "spinach rigatoni," and it wasn't listed among the ingredients. It would be good to mention that on the menu.
This was an excellent dinner in all respects. Unique and delicious food. Great services. A very enjoyable evening.
Amazing service and one of the best meals we've ever had!
Love Equinox's vegan brunch, which is now served with courses (many family style), rather than a buffet. The food was delicious and the service and ambiance excellent. Just a real great way to do brunch on a Sunday
Absolutely horrible. Dinner inedible. Returned twice to kitchen. Ultimately did not eat. No empathy from the staff. Left hungry.
This was my second time at the restaurant but for my family, it was there first time at a vegan restaurant and I wanted them to experience this place in particular because my first time went so well and the ambiance is very nice. 1) We we’re seated at our table in a tight spaced corner which I didn’t really like. 2) our two waiters did a poor job of making sure we had everything we needed and checking in on us. My family and I (African American) witnessed the waiters (2) ask the two tables on both ends of us (both with all Caucasian people) many times if they needed anything; drinks, refills, the next meal, etc. and walked right passed us without checking in. I became so fed up after so much time went by. My mother and I we’re sitting without drinks for a refill for over 15 minutes. No one checked in on us. Everyone walked by like we we’re invisible. 3) during my first visit, each time the waiter brought out a dish, he/ she would (without asking) provide details about the meal. I also witnessed them do it with other customers while we we’re there but our waiters did NOT until I complained and informed him of how unsatisfied we were with the service. 4) there was some type of green-ish pasta and the noodles we’re not done. 5) we waited a while for our food to come out/ for them to switch out the plates and when they did, they left a bunch of the old plates and utensils on the table. For 2 adults and 1 child (7 yrs old), for $131, and I live an hour away so we had to get up super early to be there… this was NOT worth it. I usually pay $$$$ for dining experiences which is fine if the service and food is worth it. The food was good. Overall, I was disappointed in the service.
The best vegan food I’ve ever had! Worth every penny! I wish I lived closer.
Really enjoyed the good food, service and seating at this lovely D.C. restaurant- only wish we’d had room from the generous portions to make an attempt at the desserts! An excuse to come again soon!
We were greeted nicely and seated before our friends arrived. The cocktails were very well made. The menu was a little uninspiring but the special pasta dish with truffles was delicious as was the pear salad. Our friends didn’t live the crispy artichoke. The service was attentive. It wasn’t clear gratuity was included for six to us and the waiter didn’t tell us when the check was delivered. We had to modify our individual checks after one of our party figured out this was the case.
Great, thoughtfully-prepared, well-presented food, with plenty of plant-based options. Haven't been to this restaurant in a few years but was very impressed with their current menu and offerings. Everyone in our party enjoyed their dishes.
The tasting menu is eclectic and delicious. Incredibly terrific service. A gem of a spot.
Food was not creative, over priced and servers were uniformed on the dishes. Basically said the fish dish came with crackers instead of cracked pepper vinaigrette. My dish was sautéed white beams with a tiny bit of spinach and mushrooms for $32.00. Should have sent it back.
Great food and ambiance and a variety of options for different dietary restrictions.
Went for Thanksgiving with set menu. Very pleased with quality of good. Special occasion prices but still a good value for meal/ ambience/location
Equinox was a lovely overall dining experience from beginning to the end.
Wonderful Thanksgiving experience!
