Great vegan choices for brunch, the bulgur salad was superb and the tofutti with Brussel sprouts were also excellent!
I had a wonderful experience at the Vegan Brunch. First off a vegan brunch being available was a gem in itself. The food was great, our server was soooo attentive/kind and the overall staff were genuinely pleasant.
My favorite dish was the Crispy Cauliflower and the Tofu Scramble. I will definitely be back again for brunch while I am on my vegan kick!
The food and service were spectacular! I would strongly and enthusiastically recommend this restaurant, even for gluten free waters like myself!
We wanted to enjoy a great dinner meal with friends. We wanted to be able to converse without having to raise our voices to be heard. We were able to get gluten-free that really was gluten-free. The wines selected with assistance complemented each dish. Equinox delivered all that plus great service.
The artichoke "Alla Romana" starter was perfect as we decided what to order. The clam chowder appetizer was very good, Mediterranean-style and fresh as was the onion soup. We all chose the lamb chops (special) for the main course even though there were many other tempting options. It was the right choice for even the gluten-free diet.
Equinox has been delivering this kind of dining experience for a long time. It is rewarding to have been able to count on it to once again meet our expectations.
Amazing testing menu and drinks that are always changing.
Although overall very good, I would have to say it was disappointing and, even for Washington DC, overpriced for the experience. I was expecting 'outstanding' on all levels, and it fell short on the most important level - the food. The menu was inventive and nicely presented, although it was all very colorless - beige, brown, tan - and served in neutral toned dishes: the food would have benefitted from some fresh green herbs. The best bite was the first course scallop (yes, ONE scallop) which tasted wonderful - melt in your mouth- and the rockfish was delicious, but the pork tenderloin (with bone!) was overly salty and somewhat difficult to 'knife and fork'. The chocolate desert was tasty but unremarkable. The 4-course wine pairings were good but not great and did not represent best in class examples of their genre. On the plus side the service was attentive and well paced, and the wait staff was pleasant and well trained. The atmosphere was chic and appealing in silver and gray with a touch of pink flowers and made for a visually pleasing atmosphere. Sadly, I will not return to the Equinox.
Always great. Excellent changing menu, fresh ingredients, beautifully presented and tasty.
Everything was delicious! I first experience having vegan brunch!
Enjoyed the tasting menu with the wine pairing. Fantastic. The pork dish was outstanding.
We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary here on a visit from the UK. The service was exceptional, the food sublime and the ambiance just right.
We had the plant based tasting menu paired with wine. It's a nice change to have so much good veggie food on offer from a non-specialised restaurant.
Equinox has long had some of the best food in DC and the expanded "plant based" options are very welcome and delicious for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. This old standby keeps getting better and better.
Chowder was excellent. It was nice having quality vegetarian options. Attentive staff in a comfortable setting. Will return.
Great place for a plant based diet meal.
Good restaurant hidden away from the hustle and bustle of DC. We're not vegan but we walked away liking the vegan and vegetarian dishes better than our meat dishes. Nice presentation of the dishes and waiters were very good. Kind, knowledgable, took time to answer questions and generally very likable. We would go again if we visit DC again.
Celebrated our 17 yr anniversary here. Did the 5 course plant based tasting menu with the wine pairing, it was absolutely perfect. Tempura cauliflower was both of our favorite. The wine pairings were spot on and the service and ambience made for a wonderful evening. Chef Todd and his staff even gave us a happy anniversary card. The best vegan fare outside of Seattle!
Really good and interesting food. Portions are a bit small for the price. Service was slow but friendly.
Food was amazing!!!!!!!!
Equinox is a lovely restaurant with an attentive staff and nice ambiance. It is, however, very expensive for what it is. Even the vegetarian entrees were in the $30 plus range. Each entree was beautifully executed but there was not enough food on the plate. My entree came out luke warm. When we told the wait staff about it, they quickly responded and brought us out a replacement and a free drink. The staff was great; the food on the plate is skimpy for the price.
Equinox continues to be one of the best restaurants in Washington, D.C. - consistently delicious and inventive food and excellent service.
This restaurant was fantastic! The atmoshepere was very serene and the wait staff was accommodating. I went there with my family and we order the plant based tasting menu. Everything we were served was excellent and far exceeeded our expectations.
The plant-based (vegan) brunch was exceptional. I went with an omnivore who is a self-declared foodie, and he loved it as well.
We celebrated our anniversary with the PB tasting menu and it was amazing! Wine pairings were perfect. We will be back soon and often. We were sad when Nora closed and have been looking for another restaurant for special PB meals and now we've found one.
Creative and delicious, a must try.
Pricey. Food was below expectations. Not enough menu choices.
Food was bland and the staff did not want to accommodate any small changes to the set tasting menu.
The service and Ambiance or excellent. I wish I could say the same for the food. Although eloquently presented, most of the dishes on the tasting menu lacked flavor. I'm not saying they were lightly or subtly seasoned, I'm saying they had very little flavor at all. The wine pairings with each course on tasting menu were ill-conceived and the white wines were served ice cold. If you are looking for a really good tasting menu with wine pairings look elsewhere. Iron Gate would be a much better choice.
The food was amazing, with fantastic options for veg people and omnivore people alike. Service was lovely, and we got suggestions for great options based on our dietary restrictions that everyone could eat and enjoy.
Equinox is a good place to eat if one of your party is vegan but others are not. However, we had a seating at 8:30 pm and by 9:15 pm as we were still making our way through our four course meal, the staff was pulling our chairs from the tables around us. That was so rude and made a special occasion, my wife's birthday, less special.

Saw the restaurant had been redone so decided to try it with a client. Ordered their onion soup and it was all onion and no broth - totally lukewarm - the appetizer gourgiers and the eggplant were good - my friend ordered a salad special with tuna - shocked to learn it was $34 - overpriced - really disappointed.
I finally made it to their Sunday Vegan Brunch. was very good! I really like the Tofu scrambled and the many bread options they had.
I would love to have some vegan yougurt alternatives.
The dessert table was good, but most of the chocolate desserts where not that great though, finding a very good vegan chocolate its kind of hard
Ill be back for sure!
oh, additional note, the Chef was asking the tables how the brunch was, I think that is very nice to do
It was pretty good. Just not nearly as good as the prices, in my opinion.
Great restaurant. Consistently excellent for years. Chef Todd Gray is a star and very supportive of community sourcing. I always get a healthy, fresh, sustainably sourced meal. All that at one of DC's best high end restaurants. Can't go wrong.
Our dinner was superb. There were 6 of us with different soups and entrees and all the dishes were excellent as was our wine. Have always been a fan of Todd Gray and he did not disappoint.
Great food. Very limited wine list. Just 3 cabs and one was sold out. Not good
I dined here as a late Christmas celebration with my friend. We are both newly vegan and were blown away by the offerings of this brunch. It was so nice not to have to order from a limited menu or worry about if things are truly vegan or not. I highly recommend the cauliflower tempura, mushroom quesadilla and the tofu scramble station. YUM!
The food and service were great--my companion and I especially appreciated their ready willingness to swap out a dish she was allergic too on the tasting menu. That said, we ended up being seated in a sort of glassed in patio that had both very little ambience and was quite cold next to the windows (it was about 45 degrees outside). That put a damper on the whole experience.
They were out of the lamb we both ordered, and it was early evening.
Great to find an upscale restaurant in DC with great vegan options
Wonderful!!!! So many plant based options! We loved it!!!!
The vegan brunch was outstanding as usual. My absolute favorite in DC.
