Equinox was chosen since my GF has just gone back to vegetarianism (I corrupted her for a bit). She wanted to eat everything on the menu but she settled for the truffle Mac and cheese, crispy brussel sprouts, eggplant casserolette, butternut squash falafel from the tasting menu, eggplants frittes and risotto fritters. She was very happy with her selection. I had the Australian prawns which were tasty but I'm a steak man through and through so I had to make due with good. We capped dinner off with braised pineapple with ginger bread cake and the mascarpone chocolate mousse cake which were great.
ALWAYS beautifully and thoughtfully prepared food. Excellent, fresh, locally sourced greens, fish, poultry. Always splendid service. ALWAYS leave with a smile.
Trying a vegan experience with my son. Interesting and flavorful!
As always, the vegan brunch was amazing! The variety of food offered and the quality are unmatched. Everything was delectable-- I ate too much and did not need dinner. :) While their desserts look beautiful and were good, Equinox excels at the savory. I wish they would put the truffle mac and cheeze back on the buffet. Yummm. Thanks to Ellen and Todd for giving DC-area vegans somewhere to enjoy fine dining.
Exceptional quality food with many plant-based options. Warm, quiet setting was perfect for conversation. Fine service. The value was very good, with exceptional quality food and atmosphere balancing relatively high prices.
Attended the vegan brunch with some girlfriends. We all really enjoyed the food and a bonus was the chef coming out, to serve a dish, who was engaging and friendly.
The thing I would like to see changed is tea and coffee should be included in the buffet price.
Equinox is always outstanding. The service is impeccable. I've never had a meal there that wasn't delicious. The tables are far enough apart that you can have real conversations. I frequently take clients there for lunch and have never been disappointed.
What a find: a vegan’s paradise! Enough said.
We wanted a special evening with friends from Calufornia. Equinox is always superb; the Restaurant Week menu was a welcome surprise! The service was attentive and gracious; the menu options delicious!
First of all, it was a surprise to find out that Equinox didn’t participate in the dc restaurant week for lunch, something that was unclear from the Open Table’s website about the restaurant week. Secondly, the only option for the brunch on Sunday was vegan buffet, which was pretty bad and limited in creativity and options. We regretted we stayed.
Great meal and service.
We were there for Restaurant Week but quickly decided that this was a place that we must return to. With each bite I commented on how flavorful and well put together the seasonings and spices were. I have not tasted such an exquisite meal in quite a long time. Every bite was delicious from the first through third courses as well as those which were surprise dishes from the chef! The food was amazing and the service and ambience made for a very enjoyable evening. This is one restaurant that is high on my list to experience again.
Another wonderful birthday dinner! Always a winner!
Went during Restaurant Week. Appetizers were delicious - I had the scallops and my friend the beans. We both regretted ordering the Fusilli with mushrooms as our entree, as it was so bland we asked for a lemon and pepper to doctor it up. Did not expect that at a restaurant at this level. (In retrospect, the server should have just offered us another dish when he realized the entree was not pleasing, but maybe during Restaurant Week they are not inclined to be that accommodating.) The flourless chocolate cake was very good.
Considering the Restaurant Week pricing, the value was very good. If we had paid regular price, I would have insisted on replacing the entree.
A delicious meal. Wonderful service. Would definitely go there again happily.
