We really enjoyed the Vegan Sunday brunch. My husband is vegan and I am not so we don’t eat out often. The Vegan Bruch is enjoyable to vegans and non- vegans and they change the menu every week so we will definitely be back. They also have great vegan options in their regular lunch and dinner menus! My husband was super happy!

Tasty enough that non-vegans will enjoy the vegan brunch. Atmosphere was cozy and inviting. Customer service was outstanding

The food wasn't as unique or interesting as we'd hoped, and the service was awful and sometimes non-existent. We spent almost three hours in the restaurant for lunch due to slow service and the food did not merit the wait! Really disappointing trip.

We both agreed, not only were the dessert and bread options exceptional, as usual, but the vegan chili themed soup was the best one ever!

The food was phenomenal, as was the service. The highlight was the "treat" of artichoke "crab cakes" brought out from the kitchen by the chef. Truly creative cuisine and relatively healthy. Also a setting with sufficient distance between tables so one can both hear and have a truly private conversation.

Equinox is a hidden gem in downtown DC. Although the restaurant has been here for a significant time it never seems to get the respect its quality chef and staff deserve but that makes for a real treat. In addition to the great tasting menu the vegan?vegetarian dishes are the best in the city. A chef that truly understands the needs of everyone.

The vegan food is delicious, creative, and beautiful. I especially appreciate that this restaurant has wonderful food choices for vegans and non-vegans, so everyone can enjoy the meal.

The staff, including the Chef, were very accommodating in navigating around my food allergies. They didn't make me feel like I was a bother, and I really enjoyed the vegan brunch. More restaurants should take a page out of their book...it's not hard to make a few modifications, however it means so much to someone who just wants to enjoy a meal out once in awhile. We'll be back for sure!

Fabulous as always. This time we enjoyed the unparalleled vegan brunch, Chef Todd brought over an amuse bouche, something new and different every time.

I’ve been for dinner a few times, and the folks I’m with always rave about the non vegan choices.

We were disappointed. The John Dory was a bit fishy and over cooked. The Sage Spaghetti was OK but not great. The gougeres had too much goat cheese and were not very warm. The chocolate dessert (a special) was just a tube of fudge with cute things on the plate. It is inexpensive so we didn't feel we got value for our money.

My wife is vegetarian and nearly every dinner out we've had in our 20 years together has been a situation in which she has to compromise and do a back bend try to get something that works for her. Chances are she had to choose between a vegetable marinara and a mushroom risotto - and she's allergic to mushrooms. Equinox provided creative, interesting choices that made her feel like a vegetarian was a customer to be attracted and catered to, rather than simply placated. The flavor combinations were great, as were the ingredients. Best meal we've each had in a while.

My daughter, who is a vegan, was visiting from New Jersey for the holidays. Several months ago she told me, "We HAVE to go to Equinox for their Vegan brunch buffet. I heard it's amazing!" We made reservations and it truly WAS amazing. The buffet offered a variety of wonderful dishes, including delicious desserts. Even if you're not a vegan, you'll love it! The service was beyond compare, and we were thrilled to meet Chef Todd Gray and his wonderful wife, Ellen Kassoff Gray. We'll definitely return.

Superlative in every respect. Outstanding. And we really appreciated your tending to my 102-year-old mother-in-law with grace and generosity of spirit. She was thrilled with her meal and your generosity of spirit. She noted that some of the menu selections might leave some diners a bit nervous and quizzical but thought everything would be terrific. She was right.

Great ambiance and temperature to the room. There is nothing worse than dining in a freezing cold room, so I was happy to enter into a cozy atmosphere. Perfect for a holiday date night. My girlfriend ordered the plant based tasting menu and I the market tasting menu. Both five courses.

Each individual course was good. I particularly liked the risotto and braised beef short. The meat in each dish had excellent flavor. However, while each dish was good on its own, there was absolutely no flow to the tasting menu. Just heavy dish after heavy dish (for both tasting menus). Each dish felt the same. Nothing light or vibrant, even for the starter.

The service was good (my water was always filled). So overall a positive experience - would recommend you go here especially around the holidays. But they should spice up the tasting menu and make it a culinary journey (as a good tasting menu should be).

This was my first time at Equinox. We went for lunch, the service was good and we were seated right away. As much as I like the concept and was excited to try the food, it did not live up to my expectations. We had the Artichokes for the table which were good. We had the pumpkin rigatoni and the chesapeake bay style hearts of palm cake and both were very bland. I realize my criticism is personal preference and not necessarily anything the restaurant is doing wrong. I also like my pasta al dente and it was very soft and chewy and did not care for the inclusion of the pickled cauliflower.

Not a very well executed concept. I get vegan. I get Jewish. The combination of the two could work, but requires more imagination than what’s on display at Equinox. Lethargic performance by the wait staff does not help either. Can’t really recommend.

My wife and I have enjoyed eating at Equinox on the same weekend for over six years while attending a national association annual meeting in DC. Jimmie the bartender has always been especially entertaining and Jerry our waiter has always been refreshingly attentive. Todd the owner always makes the rounds at the bar and dining rooms making one feel special. The food is always wonderful, and having dinner with a group in the wine room is over the top. This was the first time we ate in the main dining area facing Connecticut Avenue. It was very aesthetic and enjoyable. The scale, décor and lighting in the restaurant is very intimate. We highly recommend Equinox. It is our favorite restaurant in the District.

The experience was pleasant, but not outstanding. Service was a bit slow, though friendly. The food was good, but not outstanding. Best thing was the number of vegetarian dishes on the menu (one of our group of four is a vegetarian). Would give it a qualified recommendation to friends. And, it is pretty pricey for what you get.

Our Fav restaurant in DC. We live in Pittsburgh and we look for excuses to come to DC so we can eat at Equinox. We came in for Mean Girls the Musical at the National Theater and topped the weekend off with the Sunday Brunch at Equinox. We do follow a plant based diet but, you do not have to be plant based to love their food. Food, service, ambiance all around everything gets great reviews from me at EQUINOX. Thanks again Todd and staff.

Walked in and had to flag down a server to be seated after waiting a few minutes at the entrance. Service was terrible and not friendly. Also had to flag down a server to get our waiter for the bill.
Then there was a long wait to even start the buffet because they ran out of plates. All the warm dishes were cold. Flavors and variety were good. Second round the plates and food were warmer. Generous buffet and worth $35 if you try everything. My friends loved the french toast.
Tofu station the server was friendly and welcoming, unlike our other experiences. Downside there is also only one bathroom stall for women.

Attended with friends and family for Thanksgiving dinner. Good overall menu and service was good, but not outstanding. Maybe the energy was not there, as it had been a long day. I did appreciate being able to add 2 more to our party only the day before, but my reservation was moved down by an hour. Well, the restaurant was not too full, so not sure why we could not have kept our 1 hour earlier reservation. Appreciated the bartender, and some good cocktails for sure. So, maybe will consider trying again.

This was our second year visiting Equinox for our Thanksgiving dinner. We had 2 omnivores, a vegetarian, a vegan, and one who affiliates with all those diets. EVERYBODY was pleased with each of their courses -- from appetizer through to dessert! 4 of us dined off the pre fixe menu, but since our 12 year-old is a little particular AND a vegetarian, so we were able to be a little creative with the pre-fixe menu to suit his needs. We were very grateful for that flexibility. The service is always great and we will be back again for Thanksgiving next year -- if not before!
