Equinox - DC
The outside seating is very nice and not too loud. Food was outstanding!!! One comment is that some of the dessert portions could have been smaller. The chef special polpette was probably the best thing I ate--any chance you'll add that to the regular brunch menu? Also staff was very thoughtful and brought out a birthday cake. Thanks for everything!!
Our favorite DC restaurant!!! The Vegan Sunday Brunch Buffet is an amazing array of delicious food. Whether you're a vegan or not, you'll love it.
Great service! Creative and delicious Sunday plant-based brunch!
Equinox had something for everyone, from vegan to omnivore. They made a beautiful custom vegan cake for our dinner, and all the food was delicious
We visited Equinox for my wife's birthday while traveling to DC. We arrived early, ahead of our reservation, but were seated right away. Everyone that interacted with us were nice and helpful. The food selection was great, even if you are looking for something healthy! And the price, including their wine choices, were reasonable.
The overall experience was great. I would recommend and will go back!!
Wonderful! Cocktails were beautiful and delicious, clearly marked plant based (vegan) options were SUPER delicious and creative.
the Vegan Sunday Brunch is always spectacular and incorporates the vegetables and the fruits of the season in an incredible fashion. Even for one who is not vegan, it is enjoyable and imaginative. And we love Brett our server and his team!
From the minute we sat down for our anniversary dinner, we were treated with refreshing rose champagne to celebrate our special occasion followed by a tasty canape. Every dish we ordered from octopus to pastas and rack of pork was absolutely delicious with fresh ingredients and presented beautifully. We also enjoyed the great bread and tapenade. And we were treated to moscato with a tasty desert toi round out a wonderful dinner. We look forward ti returning and definitely recommend thus restaurant.
We were one of the first tables to be seated that evening, and our host gave us a beautiful table facing the window. The dishes were perfectly timed between courses, the food was amazing, the waiter was knowledgable about all the dishes (since my date and I were eating the vegan options off the menu). I would definitely come here again.
Patio was lovely on a spring day and I always enjoy the care Equinox takes to offer delicious and unique plant-based dishes.
Overall experience was very positive. Only exception was that I called later in the day to inquire if they found an eye glasses case with prescription glasses left at our table. The lady who answered told me she would check with the lunch crew and I would receive a phone call. Never did receive a call.
Excellent meal for me and my colleagues. Very accommodating chef and staff for variations on the menu selections. We would return again for another dining experience.
We always enjoy Equinox. The food is creative, inventive and delicious. Service is exceptional.
We arrived at 1:35 for the brunch. It ended at 2pm, which I didn't know, and there was nothing but dregs left and VERY little GF. Huge disappointment and very priciy for what we got. Paid $35/pp for something that wasn't as good as a $12 salad elsewhere - Never wil return.
First time there, very impressed. Not too noisy, which was great. We had the prawns appetizer, pappardelle with wild mushrooms bolognese. and Icelandic cod, all excellent. Moises, our waiter, was SO attentive and efficient. Great overall!
Interior is dated, and the food was as well. I liked the eggplant chips, but that was it.
Still a great product after all these years.
The food at Equinox is excellent! Vegans like us do not have to be second-class citizens because their vegan food is exquisite. It is a pricey place but worth it for a special occasion.
We took testing menu, the food is decent but the portions are very small.
Very good vegetarian options for higher-level dining. Decor and music felt a little dated. Maybe for the 20th Anniversary , the'll make an update.
Extremely nice setting with widely spaced tables and quiet ambiance. A bit expensive for what it is but this is Washington.
Our first time at Equinox, the vegan brunch was outstanding. We can't wait to go back!
This review is for our recent Sunday Brunch. We were a few minutes early for our reservation and were seated promptly. Unfortunately my view was of a wall which could have easily been resolved by reorienting the square table 90 degrees. It was quiet and yet to become very busy however our server took a long time to greet us and even walked past us awkwardly without saying he would be right with us or even acknowledging we were there. Eventually he came by but never seemed genuinely happy or friendly as one would expect from an establishment such as this. The plant based brunch was smaller than expected but very good. There was a good selection of unique spreads for our bread however it was a bit of a guessing game because they all appeared unique yet none of the containers were labeled. The price was fair but I now feel I way over-tipped the server. Additionally, I have used open table to book many special occasions and add detail to the reservation notes or comment field. Up until this reservation we would always experience a host or server say happy birthday or anniversary etc. Not this time - It was our 15 Year wedding anniversary and one would think a place like Equinox would convey a simple congrats and thanks for coming - not this time. Not even a “happy Easter” until I said it first. Final note.... parking is validated and you save $10 which is cool but they do not share this info at the restaurant which caused me to have to run back in while the valet got my vehicle. The valet was nice and the most considerate of anyone we met during brunch. He earned all the cash I had :)
We attended the Easter Sunday Vegan Brunch and it was amazing! We've eaten at Equinox many times and are always thrilled with the selection of delicious, creative offerings and wonderful service.
Delicious meal. Excellent service!
I love that this place has an all vegan brunch. The food was good although the pastries were a little on the dry side. I loved the food options and range provided. Everything was good. In addition, I love that for their mimosa's you receive an entire bottle of champagne for your table instead of just tons of juice. The only thing I would ask the chef to change is the pancake station. I think they would benefit from a fresh pancake station which would allow you to add fresh ingredients to the pancakes.
Great vegan brunch with a brilliant assortment of flavors. I was pleasantly surprised by the tasty assortment of condiments (jams, chutneys, pesto, etc.)... and that bundt cake!
We are visiting DC and the restaurant was recommended to us by two different parties. They gave us great advice. The food was wonderful and our experience was very positive. It was a lovely evening.
Food was amazing. Service great! Looking forward to coming back.
Marked delay in getting entrees out
This has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants in DC, I wish I'd discovered it sooner! Their vegetarian and vegan options are amazing. More sophisticated that founding Farmers, anytime I want to treat myself to a nice lunch or dinner, Equinox is high on the list. We sat outside for lunch and enjoyed the sunshine (with well placed umbrellas).
I had dinner with a friend on Tuesday April 9th. My experience at Equinox has always been wonderful, but much to my surprise, I was really disappointed. The server was aloof and barely responsive to menu questions. He did not seem to care about enabling an enjoyable experience, he also only addressed the gentleman at the table. I felt we were putting him out with just being there. The food was also not up to the Equinox standard I am accustomed to. I always enjoyed the inventiveness of the menu - we had the prawns, risotto and pork chop - all were fine but not exceptional. I am hoping it was just an off night. I want to go back and experience the previous meals and service I've had but will need to think hard about this. As we were leaving, one of the staff came outside with my scarf in his arms which I had left on the back of my chair. He was lovely and thoughtful, just he had taken care of us the entire night
so perhaps this would have been a different review.
I tried the vegan brunch a few years back and it was great then. Now I am just blown away at how interesting the dishes are and how popular this brunch has gotten. The food was wonderful, the day was absolutely beautiful (they offer outdoor seating), and the service staff was very friendly and attentive. All in all such a fun brunch experience, we will be back more often for sure!
Love vegan brunch. Delicious food & great service!
Excellent vegan brunch as always!
Great service and amazing food as usual! Love this place!
Loved vegan brunch! Our server Brett was knowledgeable and fun. All of the brunch options were delicious (mmm pad Thai) and the cocktails were beautiful. Such a great experience.
Vegan brunch was very tasty. We expected the restaurant to be crowded on a Sunday morning based on other reviews, but to our delight it was quiet and very relaxed. Waitstaff was very attentive!
I highly recommend the Sunday Vegan Brunch. This is a great experience no matter your dining proclivities, and is a great change to the same old brunch options. The chef is extremely talented to put together such great dishes, and the service from the experienced, professional, and friendly staff make the meal quite memorable. This a great place for special occasions and of course vegans!!
