Equinox - DC
Food was terrific. Great atmosphere and service. I dine at Equinox several times a year.
Lovely salad, attentive waiter. Expensive but great place for a business lunch.
Such a pleasant experience. Food was wonderful and the service was warm and friendly. Laid back, fun Sunday vibe
Wonderful vegan options!
Excellent Service! Fresh and flavorful food.
Superior food and service! If you are looking for something a little different than your run-of-the-mill lunch, I would highly recommend Equinox.
Great food! Great service!
Review is for brunch only. Food was okay, nothing spectacular. Cocktails were good. Not much value for the price of the buffet.
I was expecting so much from Equinox’s vegan brunch. I was sorely disappointed. The food area was poorly lit and a bit scant by the time I had arrived. I was particularly excited for the pancake station, thinking there would be someone there making fresh pancakes, but alas - I was shocked at the miniature pancakes scattered across a griddle. They were room temperature, no less! In an attempt to salvage our brunch and leave at least satisfied, we ordered the mac and cheese for the table, which was laughable. It was almost impressive how poor it was. Finally, the dessert table was perhaps our afternoon’s saving grace, and even that left us wishing we had saved our money for elsewhere. In addition, it wasn’t easy to find! One patron saw that I was carrying a dessert plate and exclaimed, “there’s dessert here! Where?” From the food to the ambiance, I left Equinox wishing I had never come. I will never be dining here again.
Great food! Unusual mixtures, choices, configurations. Loved the small portions which allow for trying lots of dishes. Service was great too. The waiter helped with advice on choices. Wonderful experience!
This was my first time at Equinox and I was completely blown away. The service, the ambiance, the FOOD....simply put it was amazing. It was my friend’s birthday and we tried the plant based & market tasting menu plus the wine pairing. Everything that came out was decadent. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Everything was wonderful, except the flavors of our entrees just did not impress. We had the risotto and the duck. At a place that serves an amuse bouche, I also expected better bread. Apps were spectacular- we had the artichokes and the agnolotti. Dessert was impressive - the chocolate truffle and banana spring rolls. Service was top notch. My favorite part of the meal was the agnolotti. So rich and flavorful. We don’t live locally but I would go again after cycling through other DC choices.
The food and pairings were very good and we received personally attention from the Chef/Owner
The food and service was excellent. The menu ihas a nice variety of selections. The dry-aged steak special was one of the best steaks my husband has eaten in a long time. I had the fe
We enjoyed again our dinner celebrating 47 years marriage at this amazing restaurant. We hope to keep celebrating there!!!
The service was excellent; with a party of six, the waiter was flexible about splitting orders, a diner ordering 2 appetizers, splitting the checks. The food was excellent: the ribs, the pasta, the artichokes and eggplant appetizers, the triple chocolate dessert were among the standouts.
Great Sunday brunch - all plant-based food. Seating is all indoor but one section has great natural lighting. The brunch is buffet style & has plenty of variety - representing food from different parts of the world & savory & sweet tastes.
Great menu, great service, great experience! Definitely will come back next time we're in DC!
Had a great lunch with excellent service and delicious food.
Exquisite lunch. My favorite summer menu item is the gazpacho - made with yellow tomatoes. Just perfect. My guest and I both ordered the day’s specials: crab cakes for me; swordfish over arugula for him. We shared each. Just a perfect combination.
Service was excellent. Thanks Randy!
Excellent food. My guest could not stop praising the octopus: "Best I ever ate." In general, very high quality cuisine and very sophisticated service.
I had such a good meal the last time I was there.
This time, the meal was good but the offerings were almost too eclectic.
There weren't basic options for the less adventurous eater.
Food and service was outstanding. Great menu with lots of unusual, but delicious and healthy options. However, we were there on a Wednesday evening with a table of 6 and it was so loud, that one could only have a conversation with the person sitting next to them.
Always a wonderful escape from the loud, predictable lunch fare in DC - beautiful presented fresh and delicious food, with a waitstaff that is genuine, attentive and knowledgeable. Always courteously greeted and escorted into the lovely environs of THE best restaurant in DC!
I’m a big fan of the vegan brunch but the options seemed to have declined (in terms of creativity and flavor) recently.
Wonderful vegan food and great service. We'll be back.
Wonderful service, I felt welcome and inclusion. This is very important to me. The food was tasty, I enjoyed the jambalaya and Mac and cheese, the desserts table was a bit underwhelming, however the overall experience was excellent. Especially the warm double chocolate brownie brought for our anniversary, that was really a special treat and great memories.
Great location and an easy place to have a business lunch. My octopus main was nicely cooked but on a heavy and heavily sauced bed of cannelloni beans. Someone had a heavy hand with the butter. My guest's chicken salad was enjoyed but also heavily sauced. The asparagus side dish, again, was dripping in butter and oil. Not the kind of lighter fare that one wants during the summer. The service was fine but a little rough - silverware forgotten, interruptions, arms across one's face delivering food and clearing plates.
Equinox and Chef Todd Gray have been our “Homeroom” restaurant for over 2 decades. We often go for light fare at the bar, but readers should know main menu is clever, contemporary and always ultra fresh. This time we particularly enjoyed the soft shell crabs following a spectacular pasta creation. Chef Gray knows pasta better than anyone. Equinox has a Happy Hour and an outdoor patio with views to Farragut Square. Their principal bartender is also a big plus. In short, a wonderful place for any range from little bites to a great orchestrated gourmet dinner of several courses.
Fabulous vegan brunch buffet, clearly up to date with the zeitgeist. Cocktails underwhelming.
Best food I’ve had in years!
Great food and great ambiance.
This is one of my wife's favorite restaurants. The waiters are pretty attentive. The food is always delicious. We enjoy the atmosphere. It is a must try. We normally go to celebrate special occasions and they always do a little extra to celebrate us. We love it and again the food is wonderful.
Spectacularly delicious plant and market based tasting menus, with a well thought out course progression, perfectly executed and impeccably served. The tumeric scented fusilli with truffle vinaigrette, grilled swordfish with crab and pineapple gazpacho among the highlights. Really not a disappointing course among the many. We have been eating at Equinox throughout its 20 years history because of the great food and service. With that said, the tented space, while comfortable, could use a brightening up, which is the sole reason for docking the value score one star for this very expensive, elegantly served, delicious meal.
This meal was the highlight of my stay in Washington, DC. Impeccable service and exquisitely prepared food. Can’t wait to return for another incredible dining experience.
I took my husband here for his birthday, and I’m very happy I did. We are both vegans, and were asked if we were when our waiter introduced himself. It’s nice that they take that into consideration. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. He was very helpful in exploring the vegan options for us. The ambience was intimate and relaxing. They served us with food to taste in between our meal, which was a nice touch. The food was absolutely delicious, from appetizer to dessert. Equinox has a great attention to detail, and even gifted my husband a happy birthday card from the staff. I look forward to us coming back, and especially for their vegan brunch. Thanks Equinox!
Great Option in the Foggy Bottom Area - the focus is plant based, but a full range menu options is offered. All presentations were artistic. They even accommodated us with a child’s menu.
Great food, excellent place for lunch. Vegan Brunch is also amazing for
It is difficult to find an all you can eat brunch in DC that offers more than 2 options for vegetarians. Not only does this fit the bill, but it is enjoyable for a non vegan/vegetarian like myself.
The vegan brunch at Equinox is amazing -- even if you are not vegan. The chef's takes on classic items are spot-on, the innovative dishes are appealing (i.e.,"ooh, I want that") rather than intriguing (i.e., "hmm, I'll give it try"). Brunch drinks are terrific (I had vodka, cardamom and lemonade). And the four of us had conversation in our normal tone of voice. A pleasure.
It gets a little hectic. The server forgot our appetizer, but brought it later at no charge. Other than that -- a great brunch.
