Excellent restaurant with delicious food and a quiet ambience. I highly recommend Equinox.
We had such a wonderful time at Equinox during restaurant week. We normally come for the vegan brunch but decided to try the dinner menu out and we were not disappointed! We started at the bar because we arrived early and our table was nice quite ready, but it was so nice to have Roman (our usual brunch server) indulge us with some outstanding cocktails. Then we had a wonderful time at dinner, the food was amazing, the wine pairing was tasty and portions generous, and the service was so pleasant, welcoming, and thoughtful. Once again I am thoroughly impressed with Equinox and can’t wait to return!
Restaurant week. Food was not as flavorful but the value was
Great. Best part of the meal were the desserts:toffee praline cake and the peanut butter chocolate tart!
Excellent food and service during restaurant week. 5 stars!
Great experience as alway!
My families first choice for vegan brunch!
We love their all-vegan brunch buffet on Sundays. The food is amazingly delicious and the service first-rare. Chef Todd Gray doesn’t run out of creative ways to make vegan fine cuisine. We often go here to celebrate special occasions. They are also very accommodating on occasions when we bring our toddler. This is a gem of a place!
The appetizers, first courses, and dessert was pretty good. I wasn't satisfied with the BBQ Salmon entree. The lentils were pretty watery, there was a lack of flavor on this dish. Even after the waiter brought us a "sauce" it did nothing for the dish.
Amazing 3 course meal for restaurant week. Perfection and perfect service.
Fabulous place!! Top rated chef and food was fantastic.
We loved Equinox and all the vegan options. The service and atmosphere were amazing. Although we did feel a bit rushed, it was a Saturday night during Restaurant Week, so I am sure they were trying to maximize the number of people.
Had a lovely time during Restaurant week at Equinox! The atmosphere was very sophisticated yet comfortable, and the dominance of plant-based dishes was exciting. The food itself was a bit of a mixed bag; my appetizer (grilled eggplant and stir-fry soba) was delicious, but my entree (the salmon) didn't blow me away. It was tasty, but nothing challenging. However my friend's choice of duck was incredible. The vegan chocolate cake was so-so. Though not every dish was a winner, service was excellent; perfect for a nice night out to catch up with a friend over good food!
Our previous experiences at Equinox had been really good. This one, however, fell short. We were on time for our 8 PM reservation but had to wait for over fifteen minutes to be seated, despite several tables appearing to be free. The hostess made no apologies. The food as always was very good. However, I'd have appreciated if our waiter had described the dishes, including ingredients not mentioned on the menu. I have a strong dislike for raw scallions that were present as garnish on my starter. He didn't offer any information regarding the paired wines besides their being "white" and "red." The waiter also failed to bring the complimentary "amuse" that he included in the receipt. Unfortunately, I only noticed the latter at home.
We invited a vegan friend to lunch at Equinox. We wanted it to be a special treat, and it was. She had a number of options to choose from. The chef graciously accommodated a few special requests from our guest as well, with everything coming out extremely tasty. We ordered several vegetable sides and all enjoyed them, in addition to an artichoke starter for the table. I indulged in the pecan pie dessert which was spectacular--not an adjective I would expect to apply to pecan pie, but this one deserved it.
I would recommend Equinox for a special occasion or business meal because their prices are on the high end but typical of a fine dining restaurant. While the food was very good, the portion size could have been a little larger, especially for the duck. It was good that we had an appetizer (the seafood gumbo was very tasty but the small cornbread muffin was very hard on the outside and tasted like it was over baked) before the main entree otherwise my husband would not have been full after having only an entree.
Love the eggplant
Fabulous brunch, excellent service. Will be back!
Sunday brunch is all vegan & delicious.
Fantastic restaurant and will definitely be back. 5 stars
Food is always good and I love the cappuccino and light in the main room. One of my faves !
The plant-based tasting menu was really underwhelming. There are many restaurants in DC with much tastier and higher quality vegan fare. The feature here was a virtually flavorless vegetable tempura that was oversoaked in oil. I won't be back!
Excellent in all respects!&
Highly recommend the vegan brunch. Huge selection of delicious plant based options and friendly service all around. Equinox is always a good decision!
Delicious all vegan brunch with tons of choices. The service is attentive and friendly, and the cocktails are fantastic. Can’t wait to return!
Everything was wonderful! The vegan brunch was DELICIOUS! The service was impeccable and the atmosphere was perfect. I am already dreaming about going back!
A DC mainstay that has stayed relevant in the dining scene with a talented chef/owner in Todd Gray embracing plant based options along with traditional fine dining offering like halibut, rack of lamb, etc. Attentive service and classic execution make this a restaurant worth visiting and re-visiting if you haven't been in a while.
Delicious brunch and great service. So happy to finally find a totally vegan buffet. Can’t wait to come back!
Very happy with our visit, plenty of vegan options. Although quite strange that one of the starters were about the same size as the entree we picked. Good service, just minor things like our table missing a napkin but nothing dragging down the overall experience. Strongly recommend!
The food and service are always outstanding. The staff works so well together, they seem to anticipate every need and yet barley be noticed. From the moment you enter, the entire team makes you feel welcomed. They are genuinely excited to have you back, no matter how often you visit.
In a day when too many chefs want to dictate to their clientele and think dining out should be all about them, it is a joy to visit Chef Gray. His singular objective is to make sure you have a meal you will be delighted with. He is about feeding his guests, not his ego.
If this was not all enough to make this my favorite “go to” restaurant, Chef also has many wonderful healthy options to choose from. He is so skilled in this area, I bring my doctor here for lunch and dinner.
Well prepared food, exceeded my expectation, would definitely recommend
Equinox brunch is such a great time! Thanks to the staff for being so accommodating and fun. The food is phenomenal.
Excellent restaurant in every way. The food is always interesting and delicious as well as beautifully presented. Service is attentive but not smothering. The ambiance is lovely. This is one of my favorite restaurants in DC. A reliable standby that remains excellent and consistently good among lots of "flash in the pan" restaurants -- an oldie but goodie!
Food is fine but not exceptional. Service lacking a bit.
Great plant based offerings. Thank you chef Todd!
Best vegan brunch ever. The food just keeps flowing and the staff is lovely and attentive. Always a good time!
Delicious plant based brunch, excellent service. The maitre d’ was kind enough to send a gluten free cauliflower dish which was amazing. Great experience overall, can’t wait to return!
The vegan brunch was delicious!! I am ready to go vegan now! We will definitely return for more
The vegan buffet is always wonderful! Even for people who are not vegan! The service was excellent. We will be back.
Excellent as always. This is our go to place for years. They have a plethora of plant based dishes and meat eaters alike. They also have a fabulous plant based brunch on Sundays which is always fun and exciting. Great people and friendly staff as always. We need to have more restaurants like this.
Amazing selection of plant based meals. The best all around dinning experience we have had in months. My sea food special and my wife’s tempura vegetables were amazing. Highly recommend
Good location near the white house, but everyone was power lunching so it was all white men in red ties. The food was very rich and expensive. I originally went here because it was on a list of vegetarian friendly restaurants and it had lots of "plant-based" options, but they were just very rich in flavor and I ended up getting sick after (I eat very clean, no surgar, dairy etc).
